Pure Restaurant & Lounge

Awful service as in a party of 10 with no other patrons in the venue had to wait almost 20 minutes for any server to come over, they have the worst bartenders who cannot even open a bottle of beer let alone make a cocktail (I said blue cheese olives in my martini not GARLIC olives, eeewwww) and the food was not worth the price at all. Pure is pure awful so don’t waste your time or money.

The Service is 5 stars, no questions! Food is ok, but very expensive place !!! Plates with food is small. Gratuity is included in your bill. Not less than $ 20. Plus additional tips and taxes … It was dinner of 2 people. So, not going to comeback for sure…

My experience was a few months back…
There were four of us and my one buddy wanted to give this place a 2^nd chance… Well he will never live it down… Went on a Friday night and the place was EMPTY. Major red flag for me. We sit down and ordered our food and drinks. Appetizers took a long time to come out and when they did they came out one at a time. One was even missing. We told the waiter about the missing item when he started bringing out the entrees. He brought out the missing appetizer which was cold and probably sitting the whole time. We asked that he take it away and off our bill.
The entrees… WOW… 3 medium filet mignons ordered. One came out well done. One was medium rare. And the last filet mignon was still breathing. Disgusted we called the manager over and asked him what he thought of the steaks… He had no excuses and then told us it was his 2^nd day on the job. Mind you I don’t think he ever worked in the restaurant business before based on his answers. Anyway regardless we left without finishing our meal…
Not sure how this place is still open. I think it wants to be a Club more than it wants to be a restaurant.

Went there probably for the last time. The portions got smaller if that was possible still no bread very expensive. One in our group ordered pork chop dish and got one repeat one pork chop with no side at all for $ 25. Not good at all

The worst place … This was my 2^nd time on New Years in this place, the 1^st time was good time the 2^nd time was disaster. Is late now I will describe all the details tomorrow… I hope Holiday In. Is not part of of this place… «PURE»

This place is absolutely beautiful inside. Very elegant and tasteful, you can’t tell at all from the outside. I got the diver scallops. There was a nice sear on the scallops and very evenly roasted asparagus. The vegetables were well cooked and seasoned. y parents both got the sushi sashimi rainbow roll combo. It came with soup and salad, decently sized, and really awesome portions of extremely fresh fish. The rainbow roll was well made, the sushi was generously proportioned, and the sashimi pieces were gigantic! I could really taste the ocean
The service was appropriately attentive, all in all a great elegant night out

Despite mixed reviews, I couldn’t pass up a deal on living social for Pure. I very rarely give 5 starts but this place deserves it based upon my experience. My husband and I went last night for date night. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday night. It’s beautiful inside. We ordered drinks and decided on the crispy calamari & Pure sushi roll for appetizers and both of us ordered the shrimp penang curry as entrees.
The calamari was perfectly cooked and really delicious. The sushi roll was beautifully presented, fresh and yummy. The curry was absolutely addicting with a bit of a kick but not too much.
We saw other entrees being served around us and they also looked beautifully presented. Definitely returning. Prices are high but based upon this experience, the quality of food is excellent.
Unlike other posts here, our service was top notch — very attentive wait staff. Perhaps not a place you go if you are in a rush because they give you time to relax and enjoy yourself. Definitely not a family place.

First of all, the restaurant is beautiful from the inside, I was surprised with the décor and detail they put in. We made reservations and got our table right away, menu was nice and simple, waiter was awesome and recommended the fire and ice shrimp and that was amazing. We also had the signature mojitos and they were delicious.
We decided to go with the sushi for dinner and it was amazing. One of the better Sushi places in the area. I highly recommend it. Overall the atmosphere was great, music was nice and the place was beautiful. The manager came over a few times to make sure we were ok. Great spot to bring your significant other and enjoy a night out. Definitely will come back and try other things on the menu. Someone mentioned it was under new management and they definitely did a great job that night.

Upon entering Pure, you’re greeted with a step and repeat which is pretty hilarious (I mean come on, you’re in the middle of a Holiday Inn in Parsippany, NJ) but I understand was intentional to set a «young, hip, and trendy» kind of vibe. Which is actually a great analogy for the overall feel of pure — well intentioned and stylish but not meeting the overall desired outcome.
We came because of a groupon. We renters and were seated by what I’m assuming is a manager, could be an owner, who knows. I was struck by how wannabe Miami chic the décor is — don’t get me wrong, it’s certainly romantic but it’s killed by the fact that upon closer inspection, the place is in desperate need of some TLC. The banquettes are missing buttons from the diamond tufted design, the wood tables are scratched and the bathroom door handle actually fell off in my hand (trapping me in the bathroom until one of the many bored servers rescued me).
The servers, while kind, were just slow in spite of there being 3 servers for 3 tables occupied while we were there. The food was mediocre at best. For apps we ordered the fire and ice shrimp and the spicy edamame. The edamame could have been cooked more and the shrimp honestly tasted exactly like the dynamite shrimp from Applebee’s. For entrees we ordered the NY strip and the strip steak. My strip steak was almost intolerably dry (although to be fair, I ordered it well done…) and DH’s rated his Ny strip as a 7 out of 10 although he rated his overall meal as a 5 due to his expected wasabi mashed potatoes being chunky red bliss potatoes with zero wasabi. Funny enough, my expected «marscapone whipped potatoes» were the same chunky red bliss potatoes DH was served. When we inquired with the server as to the difference between what was served to what was listed in the menu, she returned with a manager who presented us with a bowl of «complimentary» wasabi mashed potatoes which she explained only had a «hint» of wasabi — but the kicker is the bowl she presented us with was the exact same chunky red bliss potatoes we already had on our plate. It’s not a big deal at all, but don’t bring me a plate of shit and try to sell it as chocolate.
Overall Pure gets 3 out 5 stars because I’m generous like that. I’m glad we went and experienced it, but we definitely won’t be back as the next time we’re craving a decent steak, we’ll just visit Longhorn steakhouse which is right across the highway!
TLDR: Décor is trendy, service is slow, food is mediocre.

This restaurant should immediately change its name to something more honest, such as «Pure Garbage.» My wife and I dined there one night, being local to the area, and couldn’t have been more disappointed. To start, the «lounge» ambiance lends well to a dull, tiresome motif that even the staunchest of lounge-​types would not support. The music is jarringly «hep» (think awful, untalented elevator jazz) and provides nothing but a distraction from the food and service — which now that I think about it, is maybe a good thing. The waiter was woefully uninformed about the menu, and his demeanor was borderline unprofessional. The food itself was almost certainly boxed, frozen fodder run through a microwave, resulting in quality just a tick above the American «t.v. dinner». We had a pasta dish and a tofu dish, for those interested. Even the desserts were tasteless and stale, which is pretty hard to do with pre-​fab deadfood.
To top it all off, when we attempted to pay with our gift card, the hostess tried to inform us that they couldn’t honor it or process it. Obviously, that didn’t sit well since it is of course illegal not to honor gift cards (especially those purchased in the last 12 months), and we had to hem and haw over it just to get them to accept our card. They did not seem to understand that our meal had already been paid for, i.e. gift cards are given in exchange for money for food and service not yet rendered. Their lack of acumen on such matters was alarming.
Avoid this place. Buy a frozen meal from Walmart if you’re looking for better quality.

This restaurant was better than expected. I first went to Pure for a baptism reception. It was a lunch buffet. I thought the food was just ok. I saw the Groupon for this restaurant and decided to purchase it to give the restaurant a shot. Surprisingly this restaurant was better than expected.
To start we had the Foxy Lady Roll and Trinity Tartare. Both were good. I had the NY Strip Steak w/​Lobster surf & turf. The temperature of the steak was cook perfect and the flavor was good. The lobster was cooked perfect and the sauce was delicious. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass which he enjoyed. I has a taste and it was good. For dessert we had the Dulce De Leche Cheesecake. It was really good. Not too sweet or heavy.
The service was great. Our waitress was very pleasant and had a great personality. She was very attentive to our requests and always was accommodating. I definitely wouldn’t mind returning to the restaurant.

I been wanting to eat there for a while. Saw a Groupon for It and made sure to grab it. Good thing I did because its expensive. I got a mixed drink, the bf got a belgium beer, chilliean sea bass, steak and for apps the 4 ceviche tacos came to $ 98. When the apps came out we thought it was joke bc it was $ 12 for 3 bit size ceviche tacos. So I wouldnt recommend getting those. Nothing special about them. Our meals though were super tasty. I never had chilean sea bass so it was everything I expected it to be. The steak was very good but not $ 30 GOOD… it’s no Arthur’s steak house. The service was great and its a very nice place .
Would I go back? Only to happy hr and maybe try their sushi but otherwise no too $$ for food that isnt blowing you out of the water.

Holy hell! This place is TERRIBLE. The price is ridiculous, the bartender was rude, had a server that didn’t know anything. She lied to us multiple times about our food and drinks that took forever. She was dressed in plain clothes but serving us? She didn’t even know the menu. My husband ordered the stripsteak medium rare and it came out well done. No apology at all. My mothers drink tasted horrible. My crabcakes were burnt. 2 hrs later noone even said goodbye or sorry? Our night was completely ruined. NEVER EAT AT THIS PLACE, WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I wondered why the food was so bad and overpriced so I looked up their Chef. The server or whatever she was told me he was a celebrity Chef. Chef Alex Garcia. Well, when I looked him up I found this:

I’ve been here a few times, the bartenders are always aloof and some-​what rude. After Friday night, I will never go back.
We were pressured into a birthday dessert, when it arrived the chocolate fondue was cold and it was unappetizing. No one ate it. We ask the bartender to remove it from our bill, but she refused. Instead moments later we returned with another dessert… with a candle in it. Umm, who does that?!
My friend and I went outside to escape a sleazy guy next to us. Minutes later sleazy guy’s creepy friend came out saying the bartender was accusing us of skipping out on the tab. We went back and assured her that wasn’t the case and paid the bill (the one she refused to take off the uneaten dessert). It was $ 42.67, I gave her $ 63. After about 20 minutes I asked for my change. She said, «oh I thought that was my tip!» I laughed, «I’m not leaving you $ 20!»
«I always get that in tips» in she said.
Between the sleazy men and sleazy, Russian hustler bartenders I was left with a nasty taste in my mouth. No wonder it was dead in a Friday night.

Pure is a really nice lounge and restaurant.
The ambiance is very modern and elegant, dim lights, dance music.
For an appetizer I tried the crab cakes and it was absolutely astounding. They’re served with 3 sauces, a pesto, a remoulade, and a very spicy sauce.
For my entrée I had a seared scallops, which were cooked wonderfully, and accompanied with a balsamic sauce it was a great pairing. Also accompanying was a butternut squash hash and basmati rice.
We did have an unusually long wait for our drinks, which is the only negative I had with the experience.

This place I found on Unilocal… Server Justin was inadequate and just did not give a dam. example– I asked him for fresh ground pepper for my salad he brings me a salt and pepper shaker.
I asked him again for fresh pepper and he said we did not have any– meanwhile I could see it sitting on a table by the server stand. I asked the host to please get the pepper mill for me and get my waiter she handed me the pepper and when my waiter came to our table I asked him what his problem was if you don’t want to be here Man U shouldn’t be serving us, you are horrible. He asked me if I wanted a different server I said yes please your dismissed. Nicole came over and my evening changed immediately– the sushi was great and on Sunday’s it’s half price.
I tipped Nicole on the full price not on the reduce price. I went over to the bar with my son to have a after dinner drink and the bartender was nice and welcoming. It’s ashamed that one person who is in the business to make your dining experience memorable had to ruin it. Advice to Justin get another job before you ruin somebody else’s experience.

This is our third trip to pure and I have to say this is our favorite spot. The first time we sat in the formal dining area and we had a incredible dinner. I had the lamp chops and they were cooked perfectly. The last two times here we sat at the bar and the service from the bartender Naseem was top notch.
For an appetizer my wife and I split the volcano sushi roll and it was extremely tasty and fresh. For dinner I had the halibut and my wife had a shrimp/​noodle dish. Both entrees were excellent. They were seasoned perfect and had incredible side dishes.
My wife and I have been looking for a place that has great food and great service and Pure has it all. If you get a chance sit at the bar and have Naseem wait on you. Drinks are top notch and the food is incredible. Well done Pure, well done…

I needed to wait until I tried this place again before I was able to review it. The first time we came they had a preset menu the gave us each an app, entrée, bottle of wine and dessert. It was $ 100 and we were not disappointed.
We returned recently for a friends bday party (skipped dinner) and met them for drinks. The place is big enough to pack em in but give you enough elbow room. Drink prices were lounge-​y prices and the music was chill (not overwhelming where you can’t have a convo). Bartenders and staff were friendly. They have plenty of TV’s and it could be a good spot to meet someone to catch a game. Plenty of seating around the bar as well.
A solid spot for drinks and food even though it’s located inside a hotel. ENJOY!

We had used a groupon. The people in the restaurant were very nice, the décor was really trendy and cool and the sushi was really good and fresh. Of note sundays is half price sushi!
overall loved the place. We did a great appetizer and had 4 special rolls and one cocktail. pretty expensive rolls (although they were good) so i would recommend only going with a groupon or on sundays
