I do like my color. But the cut is the worst haircut I ever got in my life! I was very specific about how I style my hair, yet the stylist insisted on styling it her way to make the cut look good. Sure enough as soon as I washed it at home and styled it normally, it looks absolutely terrible! Stylist didn’t seem like she even remotely knew what she was doing. Very disappointed considering this is a well-rated Aveda salon. Will never agree to non-master stylist again, front desk was assuring me all stylists they have are well trained when I was booking my appointment. Apparently not so.

If you want a color job from the early 90s then this is your place! I had high hopes that I would get an amazing color and after 3 hours and a fix with the wrong toner while I was in the salon, I had thick white/gray stripes as well as circular bleed marks in my brown hair when I left. I was told numerous times that if I didn’t like it to come back in but since it was already messed up twice in one day, I didn’t have the confidence in them to do that. I didn’t feel like they listened to what I wanted even after showing several example pics. The owner of a different Aveda salon who did end up fixing it told me it was one of the worst color jobs she had ever seen and to ask for my money back. I did call the salon and they made me come in to credit my money. Even that was difficult bc apparently they originally had me pay for another customers style/cut with their name on my credit card receipt and if I didn’t have the receipt, they wouldn’t have helped me bc they tried to tell me I didn’t pay for the service! It was very uncomfortable going back in there to do this esp bc this is the 1st time I have ever asked for my money back for any service! She originally was going to only give me a small portion back and when I questioned it she got flustered and irritated and said, «I’ll just give it all back»(bc she couldn’t figure out how to do the return). I said I would be happy to pay for the cut(which was originally free bc I was a 1st time client) bc I wasn’t trying to get her services for free and I wasn’t upset with it so she ended up charging me $ 40. I then asked if I could tip her on the cut and she said, «I already kept the original $ 20 tip.» So I ended up paying a $ 20 tip on a $ 40 average hair cut. I was very underwhelmed with the whole process. I ended up having to spend 6 hours total for a simple hair cut/color which isn’t easy when you have 3 kids to take that much time out of your life! I know color doesn’t always come out the way you want it and usually I will live with it until the next time, but with this service I didn’t even want to leave my house! I know mistakes can happen but I just wish they would have been a little nicer about it and not have made me feel like the bad guy. I gave 2 stars instead of one bc I know she didn’t do it on purpose… I hope!

Stacey is the Queen of Hair Repair & should wear a crown while at the salon, but she’s too humble. I have a lot of hair & Stacey is by far the fastest at highlighting — but also meticulous & concerned about how ‘you’ want your hair to look — vs. what she(or her staff) believe it should look like(finally a master stylist that gets it). I’m extremely selective about stylists — and and most impressed! Her staff must hold the same high standards or they aren’t on the floor. I left looking like a million bucks — even without mascara! What else could you ask for? GO to the phone — CALL!

After having a really bad experience at a local Aveda salon I called here for help. The lady on the phone was very sincere and accommodating with scheduling me to «fix» the mess that was previously created from a different salon. Upon arriving the ambiance was great! Definitely the feeling I was going for in a Spa/salon. Kuddos to my new hair stylist! She did a fantastic job fixing my hair and was very nice throughout my appointment! I will definitely be returning! Thank you Stacey James salon for accommodating me, being very professional, great customer service, and for standing by your work 100%… This makes for a great business! You have a returning customer! :)

I needed a quick color and trim while my normal hair stylist was out of town, so after reading the reviews for Stacey James Salons, I decided to try it out. I had never been to an Aveda salon, but heard that they’re the best. I was underwhelmed. The girl didn’t get the color right(I asked for auburn. It’s just plain brown.) The cut is ok, but the bangs are a little choppy. Honestly, I wouldn’t complain about the hair at all if it weren’t for the price. I paid $ 30 more than I normally would because Stacey James charges extra for a blow dry and style. Other salons I’ve been to include that in the cut and color. For the extra money, I really expected to be WOW’d! I wasn’t.

I booked her for my wedding 9 months before my wedding and now I find out 3 months before the wedding that she wont be in town. I understand its for the birth of her grandson but I’m sure she knew before just now that it would be at the same time. She wasn’t even the one who contacted me and let me know she wouldn’t be able to do it, I had to write her several times before she finally told me she couldn’t. I had other people I could have booked with but now so close to wedding season they are all booked. I understand not knowing what the future will bring but please think about others besides yourself, run your business like a business. I would never recommend her to anyone, especially for anything important cause she might back out so late that you can’t do anything else to fix the situation!

How about a review from a male? Stacey does an awesome job on hair for men too. I don’t have a lot of it left, but she takes a lot of time and makes it look just right. I have a couple of nasty cowlicks on the back of my head, and she can tame them. When I get my hair cut by anyone else, I feel nervous that they are going to mess it up, but Stacey puts me right at ease.
