We happened to come here during an off time and having been a server before, I understand how frustrating it is to be seated when you’re about to 1. get off work or 2. about to go on your break. What I do not like is hearing a worker say — «don’t seat me» and roll their eyes, — which is extremely rudely, while I’m standing there and within complete ear and eye shot. Luckily, our server was switched out to a nicer person and we continued to have a good time. We ordered quite a few things and I really enjoyed their sweet potato tator tots. That’s the first time I’ve had sweet potato as a tot. I also ordered some ribs which were pretty good too! Overall, it was a good meal for a very affordable price. The restaurant has a lot of older decorations and I really loved the antler chandelier that’s right in the front entrance.

Wow this place makes daves BBQ look fancy. Not a lot to say just bad BBQ. «Best ribs in Colorado«yea maybe in 2005. That really made me laugh. Our first & last visit.

One of my favorite places for ribs, great process and always great food. The kids always asked to go there on their Birthdays. The service is already friendly. We have always had great experiences whenever we go. I always get the ribs.

The ribs were good and the skillet cookie with ice cream is a treat. The service was even better than the food. Our waitress was very attentive, we will go back.

Good smoked meats. I would have gone 5 stars, but I’m not a big fan of their sauce. Beans are very good and coleslaw is good. Other than that, the staff is always friendly they have great ambiance and take out orders are a good way to go on busy nights. Parker Locals: check the local paper for the«Family Feed» coupon, it’s always a great deal, lots of food for less than $ 30 usually. I wish they would add breakfast like the Aspen location!

I have been to Hickory house many times. They aren’t as good as they used to be. I always have the protein meal, ribs & salad. It was OK, I have noticed the last few times I’ve been there there is usually always bone shards in the bites of meat. Not pleasant. My friend got the 3 meat protein meal, chicken breast, 2 pulled meats, she did not like it at all. Took it home for her dogs. She also ordered a margarita, came back, they don’t have margarita mix, came back again, they do have margarita mix, got the margarita, it looked awful, sent that back. Just a weird experience. Staff was good. Disappointed that it seems to have gone downhill. Not the good pork it used to be.

Got seated right away and had a really nice waitress named Ashley. The menu is super hard to read as it is so cluttered and jampacked. We had the onion rings as a starter and they were good, light batter and super crisp. We had decided on a couple combo dinners. When our entrees arrived one didn’t have the sausage and the other didn’t have the baked potato. The potato was a quick fix but the sausage took probably another 20 min to get there and by then we were pretty much ready to leave. As for the food that we did eat… The baked beans were very sweet and full of molasses, so much that they were not edible. The coleslaw was good, I’m not even a big fan but I liked it. The fish was also done well. Ribs were just okay and really on the small side for portion. The chicken was a boneless skinless breast with little to no flavor at all. Brisket and pulled pork were also just okay. I’m not sure if they actually smoke meats there but I would compare the quality with presmoked meats I can buy at Costco. Costco actually would have the upper hand. I do have to say that Ashley was really attentive and initially comped 10% of the bill without any complaint from us and then came back and completely removed my meal from the bill. She is the reason for the 2 stars and not just one. We won’t be back anytime soon

On trip to New Orleans and Tennessee. somehow we managed to go almost 2 weeks without bbq. even after passing through St. Louis. .I KNOW, I KNOW… what were we thinking? How could we? It was truly a shame!!! It wasn’t until we found ourselves in a place called Parker Colorado that we came to our senses. Walking in, it had a Texas bbq feel. It had a nice family atmosphere. Our waitress was boisterous and yet very accommodating. The food portions were big enough to share. .ok not the beans(they came in a tiny cup) but along with the food it was abundant. I wasn’t quite sure what to order.. i went with an add on of ribs and coleslaw. .both were good. The ribs fell off the bone. and the coleslaw was super crisp and fresh. The pulled pork that everyone ordered was on point. The sauce on the table was really good as well.. One sweet and the other a bit spicy. Chocolate cake was big enough to share. If I could change one thing. .I would have loved some sweet corn bread with butter. but that’s just me.(;

Very good bbq place. I’m was much cheaper then I thought it was going to be for food but the drinks were a little bit more expensive then I think they should be overall. I had a combo of catfish and ribs and while the ribs were great I was a little disappointed by the catfish. This place had a good family friendly atmosphere that will bring us back for more. Despite the d inks being a little pricey they were very good so I don’t mind too much. Definitely coming back again in the near future.

Stopped in for a late lunch on New Year’s Day. Seated promptly at a nice, clean booth. Waitress came by and took our order within 5 minutes. I got chopped beef brisket sandwich and my wife pulled pork plate. My sandwich was excellent but onion rings were over cooked or something and I wouldn’t order them again. Wife’s plate was good as was the potato salad. A solid 5 on service but a bit less than a 4 on the food.

Hard to get excited about this place. I think it just me. I have a hard time reading the menus. The menus m are really cluttered and not visually appealing. I have had the chicken sandwich a time or two and they were kind of tough. This week I had an Angus burger and it was very good. Fries we nice and hot/fresh. Alex(young women) was my serve. Alex was very helpful. I also appreciate that they provide a venue for the weekly networking group.

Hickory House catered our wedding at our home in July. Everything was amazing. The ribs were fall the bone tender, the meat was juicy, and they brought tons of sauce. We paid extra for two servers to fill the buffet line for our 135 guests and it was worth every penny. They were courteous, efficient, and clean. I felt the price per head was very reasonable and everyone raved about the food. I would not hesitate to use hickory house to cater another large event. Thank you for making our day tasty and easy!

I will too ably redo my review when I have actually really completely eaten the BBQ. My niece brought some to our office one day and I had a few bites, pretty tasty. Mainly the review is based on their fantastic desserts! Do not leave without one!

Got«dragged» here for dinner on my first day in CO, and it was a culture shock. Not saying that’s a bad thing. So much food to choose from. Ended up mixing it up a bit, having to sample it all. Not too big a fan of the fish I got(too bland), but the rest made up for that. All in all, it was a good meal, made better by sharing it with friends I had not seen in years. Wouldn’t mind coming back for seconds ;)

Came here with a big group… 13 in our party, half of the group were kids and got here just before happy hour was about to end. Some of the adults got beers… And we ordered the Onion Rings! Kinda peppery, but the dipping sauce was a good accompaniment… Definitely good Happy Hour food! All the kiddos got their big kids meals… And most couldn’t finish! Lots of fries and a favorite for my little one was the Texas Toast. My hubby and I shared a full rack of ribs with sweet potato tots, coleslaw, Texas toast, and baked beans. It was plenty of food considering we were already snacking on the onion rings and downing the yummy sweet tea! We barely finished off the sides! Now, I don’t usually do pork… But all the reviews said to get the ribs, so why not go for it?! The ribs were pretty good. The bbq sauce on the side was so-so. Spicy bbq sauce didn’t have the kick I was looking for. And the coleslaw was alright. I ate it because I needed some sort of veggies in my system. It was not my fave,(too creamy for me and not enough color, but that’s just my preference). I don’t do beans either, so I couldn’t give you my opinion of them. My little one took our Texas toast(he already ate his with some of his Mac n cheese) so you can imagine that the toast was delicious in his book. I loved the sweet potato tots and would definitely get them again. If it’s your birthday, they don’t embarrass you and sing happy birthday, but bring you a slice of yummy looking chocolate cake with a candle. :) The gal(s) that waited on us were super nice and accommodating. Always making sure that we were doing okay, had enough to drink, and satisfied with our orders. Waiting on 13 people can be tough, especially when there are lots of kids, but we all were sitting outside on the patio, and they handled us pretty well! Based on the food and service I give this place a 3.5 stars. I’m not a pork fan… But it’s definitely worth it if you love baby back ribs(the price for a full rack and sides is amazing!). The servers are great… So make sure you try this place out!

We met some friends here last night for dinner and were satisfied with the experience. We chose this restaurant based on location as it was halfway between our house and our friends house — plus the hubby was craving BBQ. First and foremost — our server was rad. She made sure to check on us periodically and get us more water, napkins(we finished the roll of paper towels on the table — oops!) and extra BBQ. However, we did order some ribs to go and I think she forgot about them as it took almost 45 minutes to get them. Secondly — the BBQ. The sauce was amazing it was the ribs that were slightly disappointing. The ribs weren’t as meaty as I would have liked — the meat was a little skimpy. This could just be the rack that we got but it was still super disappointing. The rest of the«feast»(the massive BBQ dish that we chose to order) was pretty good. The one thing I can say for sure is that you get a TON of food. We split it between three people plus onion rings and the tater tots and we were all stuffed afterwards! I’m not a huge pulled pork fan but the brisket was decent. We sat outside on the patio and had a GORGEOUS view of the sunset. If the weather is nice and the temperature isn’t too hot then I would definitely recommend sitting out there. To be honest — this probably isn’t a place we will go back to regularly as it isn’t close and it wasn’t the best BBQ I’ve had.

If you want ribs this is the place to go. Tender and flavorful ribs. The sides are just ok except the onion rings. They are delicious. We also tried the skillet cookie dessert. It was very expensive at about $ 11.50 and barely had any ice cream on it. I would skip that next time but will come back for more ribs. We also had a super friendly waiter and good service.

We’ve driven by this restaurant numerous times and haven’t stopped due to the parking lot full of cars. We figured it had to be amazing. It was really just, OK. We sat in the back room towards the end of their busy period. We started with an appetizer and when it arrived there wasn’t any silverware on the table. We couldn’t track down our waitress and after going to other tables we finally were able to get the attention of another waiter who grabbed us silverware. It just seemed like the whole dinner we were looking around for something. Whether it was another drink, a missing side, etc. The food overall was maybe a little bit better then OK. My husband loved his meal and my one son was good with his. Mine was comparable to other BBQ restaurants but nothing that made it stand out and be terrific or memorable. It might be worth another shot, maybe earlier in the evening.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for months and I finally tried it for lunch today! Everything was delicious and oh my the prices were SUPER affordable. My friend had the ½ rack baby back ribs and I had the pulled pork lunch plate. They both come with a choice of either fries or potato salad, coleslaw, garlic bread, and the baby back ribs also include beans. MMMMMMMMMM~ Everything was super delicious! Meat-wise, I liked the baby back ribs better than the pulled pork, so I’d definitely order that next time. The coleslaw was perfectly refreshing in between meat bites. and the garlic bread was warm and crispy. We also ordered sweet potato tater tots. it wasn’t as good as I expected, but I think it’s still worth a try :) They give you huge plastic cups for drinks and you can take them home as souvenirs. I thought that was super cute. The staff was definitely very quick and nice. but they did forget that we asked for a side of ranch dressing. not a huge deal though. There was soooo much food… I had to take some home. and it cost less than $ 25 for the 2 of us. What a deal for bbq! The only complaint I have is that they don’t have mac n cheese on their menu… I NEED me some mac n cheese when eating bbq!!!
