I really wanted to like this place but the service was awful and the random things they sell in there is just off putting. The two lattes I ordered took forever, they were very good and the wait would have been forgiven if the staff was friendlier but they were not all together«present». I went to buy ice cream from the other side of the shop and the server was on a different planet… he literally took 10 minutes to scoop 3 pints of ice cream for the guy in front of me and when the guy paid I assumed the server would ask me what I wanted. Well he just walked alway to the other side of the shop. My husband and I just looked at each other. We were about to leave when the guy came back… but again he didn’t even acknowledge us… he proceeded to get a drink of water for himself, drinking it with his back to us. Ok, he was thirsty I guess… so I said«excuse me, can we get some ice cream?». He turned around and look surprised and then paused and said«how will you be paying for this?». I said«credit card?» Thinking. Maybe the credit card machine was down or something. Then he said«um…(long pause)…ok, yeah ok». This really confused me… It was like some internal battle going on in his head that I was not privy to… idk, he was just not all together there. We got one of the house flavors which was good but overall the experience was poor.

The ice cream was delicious(I got a house specialty), and the coffee was good(also a house specialty latte of some sort)… but there was a long line for the coffee, and then a long wait, and then the kid forgot my order so I waited some more. Maybe it was because it was Sundance Week.

Yum! Homemade waffle cones you can smell out the door. Good flavor ice creams, coffee, espresso, and baked good.

Crepes were good but nothing special. Perhaps they would have been better if served when warmer. The service was lacking but our server was overwhelmed. My latte was terrible. The replacement I tried was no different. Both had a strong burnt taste.:(The ice water was pretty good. Cute little space with some fairly strong opinionated paraphernalia throughout. Found that uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend or go back.

The dessert crepes and ice cream is amazing! But ironically the coffee is not impressive at all. I ordered a extreme toffee coffee and it tasted like watered down milky coffee. Most of the friends I was with threw out there coffee. I would definitely recommend for some good treats but pass on the coffee.

I love this place! Grat ice cream and good coffee on the other side. Sit outside and people watch in the summer for an extra treat. They typically have a few newspapers sitting around so it makes a good place for a mid-day cup’o joe.

Fantastic ice cream and coffee shop! My friends enjoyed their coffee immensely and ice cream was amazing. Really cute vibe, patient and nice staff(Josh kindly let us try numerous flavors with a big smile on his dial) and we all loved our choices. A must do in Park City!!! Faves were brownie, pralines and cream, salted caramel, and maple walnut, but you can’t go wrong!

Cute place with yummy ice cream, coffee and treats. It is compact though so can get crowded at peak times.

1) Don’t mix politics with business. I am surprised that the owners of this business, especially in a town with 80% tourism during the winter, including international customers, wouldn’t take into consideration that people of different political views. Purchasing mints that criticize our president and then selling them to customers? Really? You’ve definitely made your statement. And I’m not even politically associated but as a member of the military, having something like that that criticizes my boss is unacceptable for a business. Keep your political views to yourself. 2) $ 3.21(that’s without tax) for the smallest scoop of ice cream I’ve ever seen. I bought it for my daughter and she’s only 2 and it was even too small for her. Ridiculous prices. I have supported Java Cow many times but today will be the last. I’ll go buy a pint of Ben and Jerry’s for the same price.

Coffee was pretty good but the atmosphere was a little off-putting. The store is jammed with every kind of tourist junk you can imagine, much of it covered in a layer of dust. Do you need giant novelty sunglasses, a T-Shirt with an sassy saying or one of those diabolical«selfie sticks?» Step right in! The seating area was cramped and uncomfortable, and the service was serviceable but nothing special. I didn’t try the ice cream in the adjoining space. Here they serve organic, fair-trade, bird friendly coffee. Yes. Bird friendly. Call me old-fashioned, but I don’t care if my coffee is bird friendly. I just want it to taste good. If it tastes good, I’d accept bird-hostile coffee. Like coffee that buys a loaf of bread and goes down to the pier, mashes 10 slices together into a giant ball, and rolls it at a flock of seagulls seeing which has the heart to take on the challenge of the giant bread ball, then laughs as one practically unhinges its jaw to seize the massive wad before sluggishly flapping away, dozens of his hunger-crazed cohorts in hot pursuit. That might be an awesome cup of coffee actually. The kind that will keep you up till’ 4am snorting cocoa powder through those tiny stir-sticks. The coffee was pretty good, so I shouldn’t complain about it being bird-friendly. I just didn’t know that there were so many other things coffee could be in addition to decaf or regular. They have a Banksy mural on the side of their building with an interesting history. Someone painted on it a few years ago so they covered it in plexiglass. When I was here the plexiglass was smashed and cracked so it looked pretty sad. I guess having a Banksy on your building is a double-edged sword.

Before walking into Java Cow I was hopeful. I love ice cream and after reading some of the reviews I thought this could be it. However, I was disappointed. I have had better ice cream before. This may be the best in Park City but it wasn’t the best in my book. What disappointed me even more is that I went in there at 8:30 on a Monday night in the off season and they were out of waffle cones and a bunch of ice flavors! The ice cream wasn’t even that special, in the Chocolate Monster which I got it tasted as though it was only chocolate ice cream with a couple of chocolate chips in it. I was hoping for something a little more special. However, I will give them props for their ice cream selection, even though they were out of a bunch they did have a large selection to choose from and had them all easily displayed so that you could look at them while waiting for your turn. I would like to go back and try one of the crepes or a latte or something because I didn’t try anything from the bakery side and am open to whatever they could create.

I love dessert and I was excited when this place came up in my Unilocal search after dinner! The place is pretty interesting with half of it being a café that serves coffee and such and half of it an ice cream store with all sorts of knick knacks/souvenirs all throughout, all served up with a cow/winter sports décor. My wife and I tried a couple different flavors and they were all good. She was disappointed that they had run out of a banana flavored ice cream and could only give us a sample, so she ended up with the orange dream. I chose a caramel based flavor but as they were scooping it, they ended up with only about a half a cup since that flavor ran out as well, so I ended up getting a little Butterfinger crunch on top of my half scoop. The Butterfinger crunch was great but I wasn’t so thrilled with the caramel one since it was so much caramel– probably due to the fact that I was being served literally from the bottom of the barrel. Great ice cream but I’m going to have to dock it a star for being out of so many flavors on a Friday night.

This place is great! Had a hot Latte in the morning which was very creamy and foamy, incredibly tasty. We went back for ice cream in the afternoon after trying a taste in the morning. They boast all natural ingredients, and the flavors are amazing. I had a double scoop of Butterfinger crunch and Vermont Maple Syrup. The flavors were very smooth and subtle, even the cotton candy flavor. I had a taste of my daughter’s and you would think it would be overpowering with sugar on contact, but it was actually really good.

TL;DR: 4.5 stars. Good service, convenient location and of course yummy ice cream! Banksy helps, too. I believe this is a must visit place at Park City. My wife has a serious sweet tooth and loves ice cream. She will eat ice cream indoor and outdoor no matter the season. If you go through our reviews, you’ll realize we go to at least one ice cream place at every city we visit. We both went to Penn State and the Creamery ice cream set a pretty high bar for us in terms of ice cream quality. When we say the ice cream is good, trust us. Upon entering the store, it was a little confusing because it is a a café that you see first, with the ice cream counter on the other side. After wading through the crowds, you will find a nicely decorated area with a big cow and also 20+ selections of ice cream for you to try. The staff was attentive, giving us as many samples as we wanted(we have decision problems, don’t judge) but the line was chaotic. Patrons were unsure where to lineup and where to pay. Look for their unique flavors! They’re also quite generous for their serving size. Our waffle cone, kid’s size served us for the entire duration of the cone. The sitting area with the cow has a lot of US Olympians memorabilia. Remember to check them out while you’re enjoying your delicious ice cream! Last but not least, of course you should look for the Banksy painting on the side of their wall after you exit the store.

Banksy, Cappuccinos, Ice Cream and a Cow… I thought I would have to go three days without a cappuccino in Park City and there it was… Java Cow Coffee. It’s not the craft coffee with a hipster barista that you get in the big cities, but for being up in the mountains, they do a decent pull. If you want Starbucks, sure, you can get that at the bottom of the hill on Park Avenue, but if you want espresso, you have to come here. If you don’t care for coffee, you can always get their famous ice cream, which looked really good. Lots of creative flavors and perfect for a summer day. Of course for those coolbies who already know about the cow in the back, the real reason to come here is to meet Banksy. On the side of the building in the little alley street is a Banksy original of a camera man filming a flower. If me saying Banksy brings a «Whaaaaa???» look to your eyes, that’s okay. He’s just the most famous activist muralist on the planet. People don’t even know what he looks like and they are willing to bid up his works $ 1-$ 2 mil. Anyhow, just make your midday and get a coffee. Or an ice cream.

Stopped in here for breakfast. Got the Early Riser Crêpe. It hit the spot! Nice, hot, melted cheese with ham. YUM! Even though it wasn’t even 11am, my husband got a dessert crêpe(which of course I had more than a few bites). It was delicious! I got the Matcha Chai Latte. This was«udderly» disappointing.(Get it? Udder!) Anyways I recommend you pass on this drink.

I’m impressed with the amount of cow decorations this place has. They sell cow chapstick to cups and t-shirts. Kind of cool if you ask me. The crêpe and the vanilla latte were superb. Lots of flavors and was delicious. Service was pretty quick and pretty friendly. I had a crêpe with their ice cream and man it was good. If I ever come back here I would definitely try some of their other ice cream. When we went the other side wasn’t opened yet(before 11) so we didn’t get to try the ice cream.
