As someone who prides herself on finding and joining the locals for good eats, Roadhouse Family DIner is it in Paris, TX. The terrific Americana diner is located next to a bowling alley off the main stretch and attracts fine local folks of all types. Great service; fresh food, including a well stocked salad bar; fun ambiance. Took my 18-​year old sister with our 85 and 86-​year old grandparents and we all enjoyed ourselves. From the memorabilia on the walls, the big screen TVs with the games on, to the friendly staff… we’ll definitely go back again the next time we’re in Paris.
I had the steak and eggs— Yum! Steak was tender and flavorful.
Sis had the grilled chicken platter with salad bar— salad was fresh and well-​stocked.
Grandma had the Chef Salad, and for a picky eater she sure did clear her plate.
Granddad had the club sandwich with a heaping side of envy-​worthy hand-​battered onion rings.

I like the Road House. I play it safe by eating breakfast every time I go. Most everything I have eaten there has been decent or good so it is a good choice while in the Paris area.

The food was plentiful and served hot. The restaurant was clean, as was the restroom. The hamburger was very good, but the chicken fried steaks tasted burned, although they didn’t look it. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that it was a matter of old grease or old greasy grill. There were very dark drips or smudges of grease on two of the plates, so that is where we got that idea. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh. They even had pickled beets, which we love. The chocolate cake was divine! We were there between lunch and dinner, so maybe we just caught the kitchen at a bad time.

I’ve been there a few times for breakfast. My coworker loves diners and always seeks them out for breakfast. We went here and loved it. The eggs and grits were great and the breakfast burritos were more than enough and filled with lots of cheese along with the eggs and meat. I think that the sausage breakfast burrito is great.
I also love that the locals seem to come here all the time. Nothing sounds better than when someone walks in and the staff know them by name and get their order started for them. Makes the place feel very comfortable.
Next time I’m in Paris I look forward to more breakfasts here.

We make the 45-​minute drive up to Paris every few weeks for breakfast and always eat at Road House. Consistently good food and great service. French Toast is very tasty, and you must try the Sue Taters. It’s sort of a «garbage» breakfast plate – eggs, ham, bell peppers, onions, hash browns, and gravy all mixed together. Get them to add cheese and it’s out of this world!
As you come in the door, it’s a «diner» area which is the smoking section. Go on to the right and the back and it’s non-​smoking.

I’ve been a customer for years, and highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger, but as of March 1, 2014 Roadhouse has gone smoke-​free. The food and service were already great, but now you don’t have to walk through a smoke-​filled room to get to the non-​smoking section, and it think this a wonderful thing.

We came here after a busted duck hunt one morning. Needless to say we were hungry. I had the Roadhouse breakfast which came with two eggs, a waffle, bacon, and hash browns. The food was great and really hit the spot. The service was great too. Our drinks were always topped off and our waitress checked in with us just enough to be helpful but not obnoxious.
