Food was good for a food court of a mall. We went with the classic falafel wrap. It came with 4 falafels, hummus, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your choice of tahini sauce. I think this is a solid choice if you’re looking for a healthy option in the mall. Service was not the greatest. They weren’t the best communicating what comes with combo meals and we got some attitude back.

I was so excited when I saw there was a falafel place opening up in the food court. You can choose a wrap, a platter or a salad. I usually get the wrap. First, you choose from standard hummus or a roasted pepper hummus(go for the roasted pepper!) Then you get to pick more toppings. I usually get the tabouli, red onions, and pickles and a tahini sauce. One of the better options in the food court, I’d say. Generous portions, but not so much that you feel like you’re gonna fall over if you stand up.

I was surprised at how quickly management chose to handle the situation by calling to apologize… i def will be back at some point in the future to give it one more shot…

The food court at Garden State Plaza is rife with options but when it’s prime dinnertime and my hunger is giving me an imminent countdown, my strategy is to look for the place with the shortest queue. This time, it turned out to be Just Falafel. The assembly line of meal preparation will invite more than a few Chipotle comparisons — choose your meal vehicle(wrap or a bowl), protein, add-ins, and sauce. I was secretly glad that I ordered a falafel bowl as soon as they’d just run out, allowing me to partake in a freshly fried batch. While a cluster of just-formed falafels went for a dive in the deep fryer, the server plated up the rest of my bowl, which included a standard serving of rice and lettuce, along with any other add-ins you want. All toppings are free and there’s a good selection of sauces that you can choose to finish off your meal, ranging from the traditional(tzatziki, tahini, hot sauce) to the unconventional(garlic, spicy cilantro). While the falafels were pleasantly hot and crispy from their aforementioned oil bath, I was slightly disappointed by the ratio of falafels to the rest of the bowl. They’re on the smaller side and bowls are meted six per serving, which left me with a lot of leftover rice and veggies. The server had also been somewhat heavy-handed with the sauces, unsavorily drenching most of my plate with tzatziki and hot sauce. The falafels themselves were a humdrum shade of yellow, revealing a less herbaceous falafel recipe(I’m partial to my verdant variety). Otherwise, I thought they were mostly inoffensive and only wished I had more. The folks at Just Falafel aren’t the friendliest bunch, but they’re certainly efficient and turn out plates as quickly as they can. My falafel bowl turned out to be just a shade under ten dollars(without drinks nor sides), which I consider pretty high for ho-hum mall food but considering it was one of very few vegetarian options in the food court, I was decently happy with my meal.

How could something so good be so right! My current obsession! I’m not sure why this is coming up in Fair Lawn because it’s inside Garden State Mall in Paramus. I went back today for the 2nd time, not so hungry so I planned to eat half for lunch & the rest for dinner. If you’ve never been here, let me help you build the best chicken shawarma wrap ever! Start with their oversized soft pita wrap, add chicken, cabbage, pickles(lots), crushed olives(little), end with drizzle of tzatiki sauce! Voila! it’s wrapped in foil then heated, it is massive! For the 2nd time in 2 weeks I failed the 50⁄50 test… I ate 100%…the best $ 8 meal ever!

I arrived tonight just as the staff were sweeping up and about to close, but the woman who assisted me didn’t make me feel rushed or that she was the least bit annoyed. She was so sweet to me and made sure she put just enough of each topping for me. She even cracked a joke about me wanting jalapeños to substitute since they didn’t have any more hot sauce. I was so impressed with her demeanor that I had to give her some complementary roses I had picked up earlier this evening. I will definitely return and hope I’m always fortunate enough to receive such stellar service! She truly made me forget I was ordering food from a food court! I only wish I had caught her name!

Just came across this magical little spot in GSP and was so happy to do so! Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for Arabic, Greek or Indian food. So this truly made my day! It’s an assembly line production, similar to Chipotle. You can choose from either Falafel, beef shwarma or chicken shwarma. You can make yourself either a wrap sandwich with pita or a bowl with salad or rice in it. There are two gyro spickets in behind the counter with fresh looking meat on them. Then you have a variety of toppings and sauce that you can choose from. You’re allowed 4 toppings and 1 sauce and 1 spread each. I chose the pita wrap with a little garlic sauce, chicken shwarma, lettuce, tomato and double feta cheese with some taziki sauce. For $ 7.99, my sandwich was huge, and delicious and I literally ate in like 3 minutes! And the best part is that it didn’t leak! Past experiences with gyro have proved to be quite messy! I’d definitely return to try other options! There was a nice amount of meat on my wrap and it was really flavorful! Also they gave me a coupon for a return visit to get 3 free falafel with any purchase.

i am so happy this place opened in GSP! the falafel was tasty, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. it was spiced very nicely. the sides and add-ons to the sandwich were plentiful and all were pretty fresh. i didn’t have the shawerma but will definitely be going back to try it! this was a great addition to the mall!

I went back today, and it was better than last time! The portion of beef I got this time was SOMUCHBIGGER, and was large slices of perfectly cooked beef from the spit, and piled high with the toppings that the insides hardly fit inside the pita. The flavors were AMAZING(this time I got the garlic sauce base and tzatziki along with roasted red peppers, cucumber salad, onions and feta cheese. The flavors with the more substantial portion of meat blended so much better together than last time because the meat flavor was lost with such a small portion. This was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite this time and if this place stays the same as it was today, I will come back here every time I visit the mall(and maybe come to it just when I crave schwarma!)
