Stopped in for the 1st time today for lunch. Interesting place because they have a meat market and restaurant together. Nice place, clean and comfortable. I got the top sirloin steak with fries and a salad. Everything was very good. Hot and fresh. With an iced tea the bill was $ 15.00 which for the quality and amount of food seemed reasonable. Next time around I will try one of their sandwiches. The people that work there all seem very nice and funny. You could tell they have a lot of regulars because the woman behind the counter was calling people by name as they came in. Funny thing about this place, they had a smoker set up out front and the wood smell would draw in real bbq aficionados but I think it was just for affect most of the ribs seemed to be cooked and on a steam table same with the chicken but they both looked great. Can’t wait to give this place another try.

What a disappointment! Have been looking for a quality deli to order a sandwich now and then. I got the pastrami. Where was the meat? Wimpy, skimpy! You’ve been to burger joints where the meat is overflowing, right? This is not that kind of place. And the meat wasn’t anything special. It was not that tasty. I felt I was being rationed on the meat. My wife ordered the submarine. Bland! Even the French fries sucked. They were over cooked, like they double dipped them. Way too crunchy. I think I chipped my tooth. For what they charged, it cost $ 22 for both sandwiches. Huge rip off! Never going there! Best pastrami is Ary’s burgers in Montebello. Meat is overflowing.

Had the pulled pork sandwich today for lunch, he had the tri tip sandwich. It was good, not great. Service was timely and friendly.

Was recommended this place by a coworker when I mentioned wanting a steak sandwich. I must say this place serves a really good and juicy steak sandwich! The price is pretty decent for the quality of everything, the only problem was that I was to full to order and eat a second one. I’ll be back again to this place for sure!

Exceptional pulled pork sandwich served on a toasted French roll. I don’t like French fries(comes with sandwich) and asked if I could have something else. They gave me options! I chose macaroni salad. Good choice. It was yummy. I wasn’t expecting table service but got it anyway. Friendly, helpful, good food, and table service. Thank you! I’ll be back.

I spied this place while getting my wing fix across the street at Alondra Hot Wings a while ago. If it sez BBQ or Deli or Grill it has my attention so this was a TRIPLE no brainer dealio for me to try. I happened to be in the neighborhood a couple times for business so I figured I’d try out GDBG for lunch while in the area. I went two times. First time I went I got a pastrami Sammy and a beer. Cold beer good! The pastrami was ok tasting but the portion was kind of small for the price. The pastrami was tasty and not very fatty liked the deli mustard on it too, but the Sammy was a little skimpy on the meat. I came back a few days later and had a BBQ lunch. I ordered a couple of beef ribs and a chicken leg(Dinner meal) along with a side of bbq beans and tater salad. The sides were ok, nothing special. The beans may have been the highlight of my meal. And that aint say’n much about the rest of the food. The beef ribs were pulled and warmed up again from the serving trough’s. They were covered with a sweet KC Masterpiece kind of sauce to hide the lack of flavor and lack of smoke. The Chicken was also drowned in BBQ sauce to hide the overcooked meat. I did not see any smoke ring on the beef ribs or the chicken. There is a semi-faux smoker out front of the building but the smoke from it never hits the meat your eating. But then again it is called«BBQ» not smoked meat so I guess I was a little over hopeful in the flavor department. Didn’t try any of the meats from the butcher side of the biz but it looked to be standard fare.
Humm Exotic Meats?
Big joint, pretty clean and have a couple flat screens. Ok for a lunch but I’d leave it at that. Maybe too much going on to be any good at all of them? BBQ, Deli and Grill. Tried and not overwhelmed, also kind of spendy for what ya get too. I think I’ll pass next time.

Just had the Charbroiled Chicken Sandwich. … Delish! Everything on the menu is really good. Good place to grab a pitcher of beer after a long day at work. Love to chill in the patio. Great customer service.

This is my first time here after hearing a lot of great things about this place. I ordered a tri tip sandwich. It was okay nothing to write home about decent good size portions but lots of sauce not a big fan of the sauce. The sandwich does come with fries which again I expected lots and lots of fries but not many. Almost $ 12 for the sandwich. They do have it meat counter & a sandwich counter which makes it unique place. I think I’ll come back here again and give it another shot see what the rest of the sandwich just look like. :)

I have been coming to this place and getting my family packs for years as always every two weeks I come back for another pack. Today when I picked up my order I was shocked the price has gone up significantly. From just two weeks ago it had gone up over $ 30 now when I called to place my order it would have been nice of them to let me know the price has increased I would not have ordered the meat pack. I will not be returning and I will be sure to let everyone know as well their meat isn’t that good.

Omg everything was so delicious. The pasta salad, the meatball(I think it was cut up meatloaf), the beans the chicken melted in your mouth. Everything was so great I couldn’t stop eating. My goodness just thinking about that chicken has my mouth watering. The staff was also very nice. I look forward to my next trip here. There WILL be another!!!

Man, if I could give this fake wannabe sorry excuse for a barbecue restaurant a zero star, I would. This place sucks to the 10th power! HOWDARE you people call yourself a barbecue restaurant and serve oven baked chicken with cheap store bought bbq sauce?! Seriously! Their sauce tastes exactly like that nasty watered down low glycemic bbq sauce you got from the elementary school cafeteria. And the chicken has that school cafeteria flavor too. A real bbq spot smokes their meat! These bbq imposters don’t have a smoker??? WTF, Man!!! This place broke my heart. The chicken was sooo bland and old and of course had noooo flavor, not even my neighbors cat wanted it! This place is a failure. Please please please DONOT spend your hard earned money here! Go to a REAL bbq place that has an actual smoker. I’m soo pissed off right now

Hot link sandwich is pretty good. It seems like they user a generic bbg sauce for their BBQ and chicken. Good for the price

I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews or maybe I do. If you’re ghetto and think quantity is more important than quality then I understand. Good food isn’t cheap and cheap food isn’t good. This place is off the hook delicious. I try something different every time I come somehow hoping for a «See, told you so, nobody’s perfect!» moment but luckily I haven’t crossed that road yet. The staff is super friendly and you won’t miss a single minute of the game as there are an abundance of TVs for such a relatively small joint. If you’re adventurous feel free to try the ostrich, alligator, bison or any of the other exotic meats they offer. Love this place, in fact, I think I’ll head over shortly!

Very mediocre. The sides did not feel homemade. Everything was genetic. For ten dollars I was hoping for a great new experience. I can certainly tell you I should have saw this coming. The restaurant does not devote that much effort to the bbq side since they also partition their efforts to also their deli section. If you want a good bbq, go strictly to a bbq place with a smoker. I did not see a smoker here!

My first and last time coming here. I’ve been wanting to come try the food here. I drive by and see the meat grilling outside and the smell of BBQ smells so good. Disappointed!!! We ordered the baby back rib dinner plate with fries & mac n cheese, and the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The ribs were dry, and over cooked. It seemed like they added extra BBQ sauce to cover the way it was cooked. The mac n cheese had no flavor at all and seemed like watery noodles. The fries were hard, like they recooked them. The food didn’t look fresh at all. I feel like we got recooked microwave food. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Went here today for the first time and sorry to say… THISPLACESUCKS!!! First of all, way over priced. Really, 8 dollars for a turkey sandwich… Are u kidding me!!! I can make this at home for free. Second of all, the fries were stale and brown. i don’t think they changed the oil for along time. Don’t. Go here… go to Hambones instead.

My first time back since they changed their name to Gus’s Deli & remodeled the exterior. This used to be Eastern Meats & Deli and it looks exactly the same inside as before. The menu changed a little, but for the most part it’s the same to me. I tried n the pulled pork and it was okay. I didn’t like the bread it came with. Too«bready?» The Pulled pork was tender, but after a few bites I was done. I’ve had better and this was just not cutting it for me. I’ve tried their meatloaf sandwich and that one was better IMO. The fries that came with my sandwich was very good. Service was just okay too. You go to the counter and place your order, pay and someone brings your food to your table. They forgot my drink though. Had to go back to the counter to get it. They still sell meats here, like a butcher shop. Chicken, pork, beef, by the pound. They even have specials, same as before the name change. My boss loves it here & gets me food from here occasionally. But it’s just okay for me. I’ll(sometimes) be back.
