Safeway

Sandy in the floral department did a fabulous job of walking me through my options and making awesome suggestions to make a wonderful arrangement of roses for mom. Unfortunately he couldn’t see her this Sunday we thought flowers might brighten her day.
We usually buy through florists but the prices this year were completely out of line for a few blooms and a little fern and babies breath. I decided to check with Safeway and I am VERY glad we did. Sandy set up a FABULOUS display of big premium orange /​coral colored roses with long stems, in a gorgeous vase. They even arranged delivery. An option like this would have cost twice as much through a florist or online local service.
Mom will be delighted. I am so happy that Sandy made it possible to get the personal attentive and caring service I never thought we could get from a grocery store.

As Safeways go, this one is very outdated. It hasn’t had a face lift or update since I was under 10 (I’m 30 now). I haven’t seen another Safeway in the past 10 years that still has this décor. Their selection has gotten better over the years and it’s where I do most of my shopping. I also love their deli sandwiches. More vegan specialty items would be great, but I know that’s asking a lot for a small niche.
The best thing about this Safeway are the workers. They are all very friendly and sincere. Lisa, Stephanie, and Becky and my favorites — though I haven’t seen Becky there in a while.
I will say however there is one very cranky lady in the deli who hates vegetarians. Whenever I order a sandwich with no meat she questions me super rudely and then proceeds to make my sandwich from mostly bread and mustard. Everyone else there LOADS IT UP when I get a veggie because the extra veggies kind-​of take place of the meat. There’s one guy there who is the best — he is very quiet and I want to say his name is David? Not sure. Look for the quiet guy who never writes it down, but always gets it right. Younger guy.
Anyway — you can’t judge them too much for being outdated since everything in Paradise is outdated but pretty much every other grocery store in town has been remodeled once, if not twice since I’ve lived here (30 years). Still the best place to shop in Paradise for general groceries (Holiday beats them for specialty items).

I just moved to Paradise and Safeway is just up the street. The store is clean and well organized and the employees are very nice and very helpful. My favorite item to buy there are their pre-​made salads! The price is right and they have many different varieties. I like the salads primarily because they come with dressing as opposed to buying it separately. Great place to grocery shop!

The workers are nice, the place seems clean, but the parking lot SUCKS! I drive a lifted Dodge and I am scared to go in there! I have a two year old and with the parking lot being so slanted down hill my groceries are either rolling away while I put him in the truck or he his rolling away while I put the groceries in! I know this isn’t the businesses fault necessarily but it could be in a better location!

This Safeway has been my neighborhood grocery store for many years. What is great about this Safeway is the clean and well organized layout, great selection of foods all while being conveniently located. It also has plenty of parking. I love the meats and produce here, they are stellar quality. However, what stands out head and shoulder above the rest are the friendly manager and cashiers which keeps me coming back. It is a small town store with with all the conveniences of a city store. Love it!!!

This place is sad it used to be the place to go but now I shop at three places to get my groceries. I have gotten home on more than one occasion and the pull date has passed. To be specific the breakfast sausage, the linguica sausage was expired. The single serve potato and macaronis salad as well. The bakery was a sore spot, however, they stepped their quality up. Wish there were more options than safeway or save mart.

This Safeway is very convenient for me if I need a bottle of wine, diapers, or a Redbox fix. Other than that it’s pricey, in bad need of repair, and too small.
The aisles are narrow and when the lines extend beyond three persons, you have to create an «L» shape in order for shoppers to have room to pass behind you.
But I have to say the checkers are super kind and are aware of the stores much needed improvement. It’s managements job to notify corporate of the long overdue expansion this store needs. Until then, I will continue to go there because Safeway’s customer service is top notch and they make a killer deli sandwich.

clean and easy to shop

The produce and dates on food have really gone down at this location, but I will still shop there occasionally as this store is so close to my house. When I shop at the Chico locations the produce is always good and the general quality of goods is much better, which leads me to believe it must be a management problem. I realized I was out of dry mustard yesterday and against my better judgment stopped in at the Paradise Safeway. This morning I pulled the dry mustard out only to discover the seal had been broken and half of the mustard already used. I went back to the store and asked for the manger. I explained what happended and she said «okay, so you want another one?» No «I am sorry, what a mistake» or anything. I told her this is a health code violation and she just shrugged. Don’t buy anything here, YOU WILL GET SICK. As soon as the health department opens up tomorrow I am calling them and filing a complaint, this is not jut bad business and disgusting, but their practices are a real harm the public.

not very clean and a little rundown. always long lines at the checkout. no meat counter. prices too high.

It’s an average safeway as far as items, however the people that work there are usually friendlier than most safeway’s.
