Tilapia or chicken dinner with double special slaw is the best thing on the menu. Get it to go. Guac is good as well.

We walked in and sat at the bar and and didn’t even get acknowledged. I would be a little more understanding if they were busy but we were the only people there at dinner time(should of got the hint)…

Best tex mex around but the terrible service makes me never want to come back. When you walk in, the cashier/waitress doesn’t smile or even say hi she just looks at you like you’re inconveniencing her by being there. Then when I asked for a to go box she just kept talking to her coworker and handed me the box without ever looking at me. I understand the service industry can be stressful but at least smile at your customers.

Walked in and walked out because the waitress was more interested in getting her phone call and getting the two people that walked in while I’ve been waiting with my two kids starving waiting for over 10 minutes where I got attitude when I gave my drink order but she didn’t care so I don’t care.

I have no idea what food other people experienced, but what me and my co-worker received was terrible. We ordered take out because we work very close to here. I had the«shredded chicken» enchilada which contained large chunks of chicken that would have been better suited on a salad, not shredded at all. The tortilla tasted like pure flour with no flavor at all. The entire meal was bland… not what I expect from Mexican food. The refried beans were actually black beans that appeared to have been smashed up like mashed potatoes. Also the beans and rice were cold. My co-worker had some type of fish, and his entire meal was cold also. Neither of us ate more than a few bites. We won’t be ordering from here again.

This place is just so damn good! Been coming here for 15 years it seems. I live up northeast now, but every time I come back to visit, Mijos is a must-have. There are a lot of great options on the menu, but my friends and I are in love with the Rojo sauce on the mijos style cheese enchiladas! Idk what they put in it… but I wish I could replicate it because it is just amazing! The chicken salad is also very good, the dressing is fantastic! And of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the mild red salsa. Oh my god. It puts all other salsas in my life to shame! So fresh and so delicious! All in all, you can’t go wrong with anything here! It really is a diamond in the rough! My mom loves the fish tacos and my dad loves the yucatan shrimp chalupa. My favorite part about it is how fresh everything is… u can tell they care a lot about what they serve and it shines through with the taste!

We love this place. So fresh. So consistent. Healthier versions but delicious, generous portions!

They charge for chips. What a shame! Food used to be good will probably not come back. Remodeled so there are fewer seats. Which may not né a problem. The Nachos were ok but we’re smaller then normal. The tea(which is one of the main reasons I come) was not as good as normal. They charged us the wrong price for the nachos.(It was today’s special.)

Our staff celebrated today with lunch from Mijos and it was absolutely awesome! We chose the chicken and beef fajitas which came with black beans, seasoned rice, guacamole, green and red sauces, chips, sour cream, cheese, hot tortillas… am I missing anything? Plenty of food for all and of great quality. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. We will return and often! Thank you Mijos! Jason-Little Road Animal Clinic Staff

I’ve been here a few times now. The food is fresh, good, and reasonably priced. The service is spotty, mostly because they get so swamped that the small staff can’t keep up. If you’re in a hurry, I recommend you go when it’s not lunch rush, even when you’re placing a to-go order. On one recent trip, I waited almost 40 minutes for an order of nachos to go. The next time I went, I got there around 11:40, before they got busy, and was served the same kind of nachos with in five minutes. When I go at lunchtime, I usually order the queso blanco nacho special. I try to remember to order it without the pico, because the pico is made with pitiful store-bought tomatoes. Everything else has been great though.

Stopped in here on our way back to Austin and was treated to an amazing, tasty and bright feast. The shrimp chalupa and green salsa… oh my so good! I also had the mango and chicken salad was fresh and tasty. The dressing was so yummy, you could drink it. The staff was outstanding and made us feel like family. Not your typical tex-mex. This place is full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Just go you will not be disappointed.

Great food! I had the Mexican chicken salad. It was diced chicken, lettuce, cheese, guacamole, and oil. I also had the chicken vegetable soup. It was bland, very bland and veggies not cooked enough. Hubby had the relleno with shrimp. He loved it. Price was only $ 26. He had a margarita. I had yummy peach mango tea. All in all, we will definately be back!

Randomly came here. WASSURPRISED! Great staff and great food! Had the fish tacos and man I was a happy camper! Came with beans and rice… Sooo good! My friend had enchiladas which she loved! Also had a complementary glass of wine, and a margarita. Was very happy when we left . Oh! They always have a delicious salsa bar! My favorite! And good queso!

I hadn’t been here for over a year, but my mom and I decided to stop in for old time’s sake. We used to come a lot during my UTA years. It’s close to campus but not so close that it’s always swarming with students. Right at lunchtime it’s pretty packed in here, but the rest of the time it seems relatively quiet. I’ve always been able to find a table. Mijo’s seems cleaner and more cohesive than it was a year ago. It’s still a hole-in-the-wall totally casual place, but it just looks and feels nicer and more put together. They still have the same great menu and beer, and now they have wine available as well. It’s only Yellowtail, but it’s still something. A little more variety. The same great chips and salsa bar are here as well(love the salsa verde and getting fresh cut onions, cilantro, and limes). We both ordered the chalupas(tostadas) and they’re covered in a large amount of refried black beans, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and rice. Not too exciting, but always enjoyable. The only thing I didn’t really enjoy today was my fountain Pepsi(not enough syrup this time, no good). But I traded it out with root beer and all was well in the world. I also like the tall, long, wooden bar tables. Are these the same tables that have always been here? They seem nicer and sturdier, anyway. Not sure why I haven’t been to Mijo’s more often in the last year, but that might change.

Pretty average, to below average, quality of Mexican food. The staff & service was ok, but there are better Mexican food joints around.

My husband and I have been eating at Mijos ever since we were in college. We both love the food here, and we probably eat here once a week. In all of those years, we’ve only had a problem with the food once. As sooner one of the workers noticed we weren’t happy with her food, they quickly fix the problem. Some of our favorites are the veggie fajitas, cheese enchiladas, and the cheese chile relleno. My favorite dish, however, is the avocado corn poblano quesadilla. We also love the salsa bar. All three salsas are great, but we prefer the hot one and the green one. If you go, be sure to try the peach mango tea. It is unsweetened and very refreshing.

Different little restaurant in Pantego. This is a very casual place not fancy. You order at the cash register and then you sit down. And they will bring the food out. The tables and chairs are a mix of styles. Looks like they just use whatever they could fine. The menu is Mexican with a bunch of different combinations. You will have to read through them to pick out the one you like. And they will surely have a combo for you. The portion are not real big I feel they are just right. You get chips and dip very tasty with your meal. We had sopapillas for dessert and they were very good. Get plenty of the honey sauce to go on them.
