El Rubi Restaurant

I come here only for the camarones chiltepes which are delicious ! Don’t know any other place that serves them. Everything else here sucks. Service is mediocre, host doesn’t even greet. The waitresses are okay. Super over priced for what you get. Plain Quesadilla with no sides is $ 9 they don’t even serve water you have to pay for bottled water at $ 2.85 for a small bottle. My boyfriend got padded down at the entrance by security on a Friday 8pm wth?! Don’t know how this place stays in business it’s always empty and the prices are ridiculous. Kids menu is $ 7 and only for the plate no drink or sides included.

So disappointed at the bad and unapologetic service. The music is insanely loud and it takes FOREVER to get your food. Do not go here if you want to have a conversation; you cannot hear a thing.

They are not even worth 1 star. I may as well go to McDonald’s at least I would get better service .Don’t spend your money here, go somewhere else. Very bad service given by the waitress. It was like I was getting kicked out right when I entered. The waitress that attended me had so much attitude. She was so unwelcoming.

I was referred to this restaurant. Drove a long way. Celebratedy moms bday. Waitress was so rude seemed like i was bothering her just to order food n drinks… Food was ok but not worth the service. Wish i could put 0 stars

We went to El Rubi to have a nice family gathering, it was anything but a nice evening. The music was ear popping loud, you can’t self park (they charge you $ 5 to park), and the food took an hour and a half, an HOUR and a HALF to be ready.
CUSTOMER SERVICE is NON-​EXISTING, no apology for the delay and even seemed upset that we would bring this up to them. The owner did not care.
Stay away!!! Zero stars!

Horrible service and ridiculous prices (on some things… $ 2.85 for soda can, $ 6 for guacamole). The waiting time is LONG. The food is above average, but not worth the wait or the nasty attitude.

Worst customer service ever, they always change the price or type of there pupusas they have on special. Lazy service and the lady that answers the phone is always sooo rude !

The 2 stars are for the food and decent pricing. The missing 3 are for the shitty service the few times I’ve been here. For breakfast, lunch, and Friday night. The servers always seem annoyed you want things (like place an order) and even more annoyed when you remind them you ordered your food over an hour ago, when it was still pretty empty.

Everything was delicious and full of flavor. The papusas were the best, especially the one’s with the beans and cheese. The beans are just like nana’s. Their grilled chicken and carne asada is heavenly. The owner was also very sweet :-) She does it all!

Looking for some Good Salvi food, but you don’t want those greasy pupusas? Definitely check this place out. Its a pretty dark restaurant atmosphere, unless its brighter than bright outside and the curtains are drawn expect the only light to be seen is that of a colored disco ball.
If you’re in a hurry this is not the place to go. The wait for any order is really long, the food is made to order and some dishes take a while to prepare. You can however also phone in orders for pick up and even ask for it at a certain time.
If you have sensitive ears avoid it at all costs and order take out. The music and ambience here is not for the faint of heart. It really does make you wanna dance… oh you wanna dance??? Perfect, this restaurant is decked out with a dance floor and a DJ. Can’t dance? Well if serving hot and tasty food weren’t enough they also have dancing classes.
Intimidated by the menu? The pupusas are great! The Parrillada para dos is very filling, and for two people. The yucca frita con chicharrón is also tasty and I always order one for the table kinda like an appetizer for everyone.
All in all if you’re in the mood for Salvi food… try El Rubi.

I like the pupusas, and all the shrimp plates. I live in the city of Chino, and whenever I’m in the Valley I make sure I stop at El Rubi. Get the «camarones a la plancha!»

I have had lunch and dinner at this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed my meals. The service has been attentive and not once did I feel the service was slow. The owner is a wonderful person and always has a smile as she welcomes you. I will drive a distance to enjoy a good meal with good ambiance and El Rubi has never let me down.

The pupusas are very good and are a buck Monday thru Thursday; cant beat that. I have never sat down to eat at the restaurant since I usually call in and pick up, but they have a multitude of celebrity pictures and autographs that line the wall and it is very interesting to see the latin actors and artist photographed.

Worst place ever, it takes forever to get your food, they keep serving drinks to drunk people making the ambiance pretty uncomfortable
