I came in for a lunch date with my daughter. We came in for the special for the pupsusa. The lady said the special is not on the cheese one. So cheese is regular price 2.25 each and there small. When we sat down .she saw we bought are own drinks in. She gave a an attitude and was rude about it. It is not worth coming back to eat here again. Over price food with bad service.

They have .99 cents pupusas! Am waiting to try mine with beans and cheese, the other one with chicharron, beans w/cheese and plantains. Let u know in a few how good they are, or not. Wow, this food is pretty tasty. It’s good. If your looking for something simple to eat. This is the place. They also offer more Salvadoranian food.

I was SUPER excited to come to this place! 99 cent pupusas? YESPLEASE! The atmosphere was pretty home-y. What was kinda of a bummer was the fact that a lot of the food signs on the wall were Spanish. So unless you have a friend who speaks Spanish with you and if you can’t understand Spanish, it’ll be kinda tricky. Luckily the menu had English in it and the waitress was really nice, so it was easy to order. I ordered the bean, cheese, and pork(mix) pupusas and a cheese one. I expecting it to be SUPER amazing especially since it seems home-made. But sadly, it didn’t meet my expectations. I mean it was OKAY, but I feel like it could be better. I barely could taste any meat in my bean, chease, and pork pupusa. The cheese one was pretty good though! Not only that but my horchata tasted kinda weird too. All in all, I liked it here! But it wouldn’t be my first choice.

I love this place. If you come to realize most of the 3 stars and below may be expecting a Ritz Carlton should they ever visit«El Salvador» at which point I would have to say its NOT the US. SALVADOREAN food is humble but very delicious. The people will be friendly if you walk in without a stink in your eye and talk to them. The Restraunt is not a «Ritz» it’s humble and has many Salvadorean trinkets. The pupusas are outstanding and the cook is someone’s mom which lets you know it’s like moms home cooking. I read a review that talked about presentation and not being able to distinguish chicken from shrimp. As a pescatarian rest assured people I would be able to tell the difference. The shrimp pupusas are amazing and so are the spinach and cheese ones. I’ve personally talked to the cook who assured me she doesn’t use lard on the ones she served me. I ate two but ended up ordering to more two go to eat for lunch. Later on I was tempted to go for half a dozen mixed ones. they give you«curtido» which is the staple side pickled cabbage you add to the pupusas. I can’t emphasize how much I loved this place. The only place I’ve found in the Valley who has the type of pupusas they serve. Mouth watering! :)

I usually come here to get shrimp pupusas which are the best from what I’ve tried, however the last time i came here they tasted pretty old yet they were still pretty good. The shrimp pupusas are around 3.50 which was all right. Pros: 1. Shrimp papusas when they do not taste old 2. Shrimp papusas are a little bigger than other places Cons: 1. A little greasy 2. Coleslaw thing is not edible!

back in panorama city for work and i felt like some mexican food within walking distance. found el nuevo rinconcito and decided to give em a try. the menu was semi overwhelming cause everything on there seemed to be the same. I decided to try the sampler platter. not sure what it was called on the menu but thats what im calling it. the plate came with a steak, deep fried chicken leg, two sausage balls, two fried shrimp, and salad. everything on that plate tasted overcooked. the service was nonexistent and the price was overbearing. $ 15 for burnt food that really tasted like you were visiting a friends house when you were young and a couple of your buddies were experimenting on the grill and really werent sure wth they were doing. i mean, the food was edible, but restaurant quality? i think not. my suggestion would be to keep it moving my friend, and thank me later

Is not that the food is bad, is just that service is just blah. There are many Salvadorian restaurants in this side of town to be putting up with attitude. Not family oriented, more of a bar vibe here.

My first thought: «I’m gonna get sick for sure.» I don’t recall ever eating El Salvadorean, but when I walked in, something told me that if this was my first El Salvadorean experience, that I should have tried elsewhere. A lot is riding on this visit. El Salvador depends on this experience to win my affection. Faded Microsoft Word signs warn: «No somos responsables por objetos olividados.» Not sure what that means but I’m almost positive it means that I’m gonna die. The walls are covered with ads of their entrees(printed out from a printer that needs the ribbon changed) & also posters of beer ads with scantly clad women(leave the children at home). I decided to drive back to work and eat the papusas there. I got one chicken and one shrimp(call me crazy). The first thing I noticed as I cut into the papusa was the river of grease that flowed from within. Now I must say, they weren’t awful, but they were also not great. They were somewhere in between. I actually couldn’t tell the difference in taste between the chicken & shrimp. They came with a side of some coleslaw looking stuff(which wreaked) and a little plastic baggie of hot sauce(no joke — it was tied in a knot like it was some sort of crazy looking drug). Verdict? I’m still alive & I didn’t get sick. One point for each of those — bringing the grand total to 2 stars.

Their Pupusas were delicious and so was their curtido. Im really picky with pupusas since I am Salvadorian and of course none add up to my moms but these were pretty damn good. Also you gotta try their Horchata, good stuff. I also tried one of their Panes Rellenos with chicken which were also tasty. If your looking for a quiet place to have some pupusas without hearing everyones conversations going on around you, this is the place to go!

This pupuseria has the look of a fast food restaurant but it seems like it’s more of a sit-down restaurant like Denny’s, since your orders are taken and you’re served at your table. Very small place with typical beer neon signs and girls in bikinis advertising alcohol. This was only my second stab at pupusas, so I won’t claim to be an expert. The pupusas were good, but not great. Very greasy and it seemed like something was lacking. The salad served with them(I’m not sure if it was pickled or what) was gross – or at least I thought so. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to an experimenter. If you know you like El Salvadoran food, go try it out. If you want to experiment, go somewhere else. I tried to ask for a recommendation to perhaps get something more than pupusas, but there wasn’t even anyone there who spoke English well enough to know what I was asking.
