Enjoyed the lunch buffet and did some shopping in the small store just behind the buffet bar through the small door. Friendly staff.

Pathetic restaurant; service is a joke here. We were here in Panama City for 3+ days and wanted to try out some Indian food. It took about 45 mins for the food to arrive, that too only half of what we ordered. The food taste itself was not bad, but the delay in service and the attitude of the staff was horrible! Would never recommend it to anyone!

We enjoyed the lunch buffet with hot naan bread, chicken achari, chicken tikka masala, potatoes & peas, bangan bharta, and rice pudding! The customer service was nice. We’re coming here again.

I thought the buffet got a bad rap. The food was hot and tasty and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating.

I’m giving 5 stars for the food… but with a stipulation. Go at night. Don’t get the buffet. Get the Chicken Makhani or tikka Massala. I’ve had some bland dishes here, but these two are the cream of the crop in my opinion. Some of the lamb dishes are delicious too. As stated by others, the management is a bit aloof, but friendly enough. And yes, the poor wait staff is usually under trained or experienced. But man… those dishes and some naan of your choice and saffron rice… so yummy!

Ignore the bad reviews, do not go to the buffet the regular menu is cooked to order. The garlic and seasame naan are great, my favorite is chicken tiki Marsala hot love the sauce. To cool that down a mango lassee is just awesome. This is the best Indian place in town since the curry pot. Tandoria, Samosuas, even chick pea curry was good. I haven’t had bad food here been there 5 times. Also, met there head chief a great guy as well. This place is very under rated if you want some great spicy curry and bread check it out ignore the hatters. They also have a shop that has better products and pricing then indopak on 15th st.

Well we visited Saffron for dinner as there was no other Indian restaurant was available. Overall, they are just okay. I cut one rating for each-ambience, taste and service. Ambience wasn’t good at all. Server was okay but we got our food after 46 minutes of wait even there wasn’t rush at that time. Only 4 tables including ours. We ordered chicken vindaalo, navratan quorma & garlic naan. Chicken dish was so sour, it tasted like sweet n sour chicken. Completely tomato purée. Navratan quorma taste was good but all it had big chunks of potato, five PCs of carrot n two peas. However this dish should have 9 types of vegetables in it. Naan was good. Overall disappointment.

Writing this review of Saffron’s is going to be very challenging. How does one rate a restaurant this inconsistent? I mean, on one hand, this place is a total mess — its management is aloof and incompetent, their wait staff is poorly trained, and the building(uhm, trailer) itself is in a state of disrepair. There is no passion or inspiration behind their front-of-house operations, including their lunch buffet. On the other hand, some of the tastiest bites of food I have ever had came from here. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is addictive. Yes, addictive. Nothing else can satisfy the craving. That is why I keep coming back and will continue to come back. If I had one meal left on Earth it would be Saffron’s Chicken Tikka Masala with naan bread. It is so good I have no reason to look over the rest of the menu. So, I’m sure you can see my dilemma. If you are wise, you’ll skirt the bad stuff entirely by ordering take-out. You’ll get delicious food without having to put up with the terrible service.

Most horrible place! Everything is just a tomato purée and Briyani have huge chunks of vegetables… To add to it the waitress Cristina has no manners, I would never recommend it to anyone

Avoid the buffet at all costs! At 1pm over half the items were empty or old and were never refilled. witnessed one table just get up and leave after seeing it. NOT worth the $ 9.

After reading all the negative reviews of Saffron, I decided to adventure and go since it was the only Indian restaurant I could find in PCB. The place is dated, and the décor is terrible. However, the place is impeccable. I always check the cleanliness of the bathrooms, try to peak in the kitchen, and inspect the restaurant’s floor. If the above are clean I feel safer about not getting food poisoning. We went there on a Tuesday night. There were only 3 other parties. Our waitress was nice and she brought us our drinks and took our orders promptly. We order 2 orders of samosas. Best samosas ever!!! Very fresh with perfectly combination of spices and filling ingredients. The tamarind sauce was superb. We also got the chicken tikka masala and it was excellent. It was creamy, spicy and tasty. The jasmine rice was also fresh. I live in Atlanta where we have lots of great Indian places and I would say it’s as good as any of the restaurants there. If you want to go to a place for the ambience and décor… Don’t go here. However, if you want authentic, delicious well prepared and pricedIndian food, don’t hesitate to go to Saffron.

After finding out that there was a restaurant in Panama City that served Indian food, I was more than excited to visit Saffron. Unfortunately, it was quite the let down. There wasn’t any heat(I went in January), so my friends and I had to bundle up just to stay warm while we waited for our waitress to take our orders. Despite the place being pretty much empty, it took us about an hour to get our food which, once it arrived, definitely wasn’t the wait. I wasn’t too impressed with the menu.

FORTHELOVEOFGOD, …this message goes out to fellow Brits and Indian/Pakistani friends, stay away. No matter how much you think you need a curry wait until you get home. Seemed like some kind of packet sauces you buy down the Asian market with no real additional custom cooking thrown in. My lamb tikka was undercooked and sprinkled in some sort of vinegary yellow stuff, tarka dall tasted like Campbell’s Mushroom Soup(though yellow). These dishes are the measuring sticks. My hubby had the buffet… and if you are in the mood for orange food then go for it. Classic case of «Oh I’m Pakistani I must be able to cook and hey like anyone in Panama City Beach knows where or what that is» The Lassi was sweet frothy and delicious and filled me up nicely before a date with Harry Potter. PS. The server was wearing a shalwar kameez with a death metal jacket over the top…

To be fair I gave it an extra star because no Indian restaurants will be able to match the ones on Devon Ave. in Chicago. I gave it another star because the owner and the hostess(not our actual waitress, who told us how much she hated working there) were super nice. So if you take away the extra stars, you have 1 star left for the food itself. Awful if you know what Indian food is really supposed to taste like. I had several chicken dishes and the only one that came close to correct was the butter chicken(labeled as something else on the menu, but the description will be a giveaway). The other chicken dish, maybe chicken makhani, but I don’t remember, tasted unnaturally and almost grossly sweet.

Saffron just opened this week, so we tried it for lunch today. For lunch they have a buffet for $ 8.95 per person. It reminded us of the buffet at the other Indian restaurant in town. In fact, it was almost exactly the same. I wasn’t really impressed, just basic Indian fare, which on buffets tends to be a bit mushy. I would prefer to order from the menu next time and try more exotic flavors.
