Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

Growing up in Kansas City, I’ve got high standards for barbeque. We got the rib plate with beans & Mac, pulled pork with fries & beans, and kids nuggets with fries. The meat is pretty good, not spectacular but certainly worth eating. The ribs are St Louis style (tastes like kind of a dry rub but the meat is most and falls off the bone). The pulled pork is good as well. I eat my fries with beans and it was a good combination here.
The chicken nuggets & Mac-​n-​cheese were both not edible by anyone in the family to include a two year old and six year old. The roll that comes with is okay but not the best.
I want to like this place so we’ll give it another try next time we are out this way and hungry.

Awesome little barbecue joint! Most friendly staff I’ve ever come across. Me and my family showed up 5 minutes before closing just looking for a place to hopefully serve us. They welcomed us in like family and were sold out of a few things (which was a good sign to me) but gave us healthy sized samples of what they had available. We got the ribs and they didn’t disappoint. They didn’t even need sauce in my opinion they were seasoned so well. Give this little spot a try if you get a chance!

This is by far the best BBQ I have ever had. The customer service is fantastic, and they help you figure out the menu. The choices are varied and yummy. We ordered brisket and ribs and Cole slaw and jalapeño beans! One word, delicious!!! Do yourself a favor and go and eat, they also provide soft service ice cream free well worth your time to eat here, you won’t be sorry you did!

The pork was delicious and besides barbecue beans coleslaw mac & cheese green beans with bacon everything was delicious. The staff were very courteous and very friendly and even gave us samples. We will definitely be back. Oh and by the way they have free ice cream as dessert

Oh man I love this place. Great portion size, large selection of side options these awesome yellow cups that hold as much sweet or unsweet tea as you could possibly wish for and you get free ice cream at the end!
They offer the ability to sample anything before you order which is fantastic because who knows sometimes the BBQ beefbrisket isn’t the same kind of brisket you’re looking for… The service is incredibly fast and way more than friendly. Me and my wife have tried just about every single possible option on the menu and we have yet to be disappointed. Fantastic pulled pork one of my favorites in the area especially for a chain, the brisket is consistently moist and absolutely delicious. The chicken has a great smoky grilled flavor even though it’s not pulled it is absolutely wonderful. They even have smoked ham and smoked spicy sausage which holds up to the more traditional menu items just as well as the brisket or pork. We just found out about this place about a month ago and we have already been there 4 times and it’s a bit of a haul for us to get there… I love this place. Love the ribs love the fries love the beans I honestly see no other reason to avoid this place this is one of the greatest barbecue places around especially space if you are willing to leave Santa Rosa Beach where there are no real BBQ joints, well there are but they’re overpriced touristy and very small portion sizes. Even though just there are only three types of BBQ sauce (original, sweet, spicy) they are all delicious and you can blend individual ones together to create your own awesome concoction. Fries, jalapeño beans, coleslaw, okra and more… don’t miss this place. My wive and I love it and it’s well worth the drive. … after writing this review I may just make my way out there for dinner right now !!

SUPERB! I was only going to get a big bbq sandwich. However, I was asked about sides and I was hesitant but then I was offered to try the baked potato casserole which was yum & then I was told the cost of two sides compared to one and was given another sample to try the cheesy spinach. Needless to say, I ordered both sides to go with my sandwich. Awesome customer service & sales skills. Way to go!

Love the format! Order at the counter Texas style bbq, sauce served hot on the self serve bar & complimentary soft serve ice cream. 2-​meat sandwiches and unique side offerings. Based on the rib plate Moe’s Original still takes the lead for BBQ in the area, but the presentation at Dickey’s is top notch in my opinion.

I’ve eaten at Dickeys several times since they opened in PCB and really like it. Today, however, was different. Their ‘brisket’ reminded me of chuck roast in consistency and flavor. Did they run out of brisket? Or is this permanent? I really don’t think it was brisket… I’ll try one more time in a week.

I was recommended and got a free sandwich card to Dickey by the girl at the front desk from Cosmo Nail Bar, so I decided to give Dickey a try. It was a good free sandwich, plus I ordered a family meal for my family and it was so good. The guy who prepared the meal was so friendly, he also gave me extra onion rings (care-​plus customer service). Overall, my experience here is worth 5 stars. I will be back next time!

Had the family pack $ 44.95 for take home. Would give this a very good but not outstanding. Meat brisket & turkey breast was good along with sides. Wanted to try the baked patato casserole but they were out. Again good but not fantastic!

We ordered Monday special pulled pork sandwich, Caesar salad, BBQ beans, kids rib & mac & cheese, rib plate, baked potato casserole & fried okra.
Pulled could have been warmer. BBQ beans & baked potato casserole needed better seasoning. They forgot to give a roll.

I have eaten BBQ at some of the best places in the United States (to include Franklins in Austin, TX) and I will proudly say that the Dickey’s at Pier Park makes some of the best pulled pork that I have ever eaten. Has a real good smoked flavor and is good with or without sauce. When ordering, if you ask «how is the brisket today or how is the???» they will tell you if it is real good or just okay. My only complaint is that the ice cream isn’t very tasty but since I am not going there for the free ice cream it does not affect my 5 star rating.

We would have given this a 3.5 but since we can’t, we added ½ star for the free ice cream. We got the three meat plate and had ribs, chopped brisket and pulled pork. The ribs were very good. Had a nice flavor and were cooked well. The chopped brisket and pulled pork had good flavor, but were dry. The chopped brisket was pre-​chopped and is kept in a warming oven behind the serving line. I would rather see them slicing and chopping from the whole brisket.
For sides we had the potato cassarole (meh), jalapeño beans (OK) and onion tanglers (good).
They also have free soft serve ice cream so you can make and after meal cone. Overall a pretty good meal.

The BBQ was okay. Not the best and not the worst. The seating is terrible. I don’t like eating BBQ outside when it’s over 90 degrees. Not near enough seating inside to cover the crowd. I probably won’t be back.

I’m a southerner and barbecue snob and normally shy away from chain barbecue restaurants, but the food and service and Dickey’s was amazing. Don’t dare miss the baked potato casserole, just awesome.

Not the best bbq on pc beach., stay away from the potato salad and the jalapeño beans have not got much taste the cheesy sausage is very greesy

Their «Deal of the Day» is hard to beat. Today was the 3 rib plate with 2 sides a roll and large drink for $ 9.99. Ribs are great and sides are plentiful
