This place is terrible. Customer service is below average due to a wannabe security guard named Mike who one of the employees called«god.» I came in to meet a friend, have never seen him before, he literally put his hand over the entrance trying to intimidate me because he’s big and Samoan(not intimidated by you idiot) and didn’t let me in. He didn’t let me in, didn’t ask for id, I had no idea what was going on. He was dressed as a total civilian, no security guard unirorm. Jeans and what resembled a captain america tight shirt. I’ve never seen him before but I’m certainly not coming back to rude employees who think they are above people and for no reason ATALL try to exert their power over patrons and continue to be rude out of nowhere. Totally uncalled for, terrible security guard who should not be allowed at the door because he is not good with human interaction. It was around 7 pm when I got there and left shortly after and took my money and business elsewhere. People, I highly encourage you to do the same.

Very spacious place with lots of TVs, but their drinks are not good. We ordered a Tokyo Tea and it came out to be sickening sweet. nasty. This place gets packed during games and doesn’t have too much seating.

if I could give fewer stars I would. I have never been to a more anti-gay friendly bar in my life. Pardon me, but I’m a heterosexual male that attended this establishment with my friend and was forced out for no reason other than hanging out with my friend. When asked why we had been escorted to the ally near the dumpster we were told«we don’t serve your kind here» it felt straight out of a Star Wars movie. The blunt of the matter wasn’t that we weren’t let back in for a misunderstanding but that I was picked up and throw on the ground by one of the«security guards» prowling the entrance, who would gaze at the entering female guests with preying eyes and making lustrous comments about their appearance before requiring them to produce a cash cover to validate their illustriousness over their counterparts. I will never attend or promote this establishment ever. It is a grotesque excuse for a hangout spot. I could find many people that were discriminated by this piece of shit«bar». I hope the security guards realize that they are worthless and eventually be replaced by sad robots.

Douchebag central with douchebag bartenders!!! Don’t even waste your time. Me and my buddy asked for a Sazerac and the guy had no clue. Then we asked for Old Fashioned and he made a joke of a drink and made me a joke! Then these douchebags were mocking all of this. DONOTGO!!!

This place is genuinely awful. It’s in Palo Alto so it’s always full because there are maybe three other choices, but lack of options is the only reason any sane person would go here. There are superficial issues like tacky décor and an uninviting outdoor space(you guys are called the patio, so why is your patio so terrible?), awful drinks, lackluster food(anyone who says the food is good is just a person who’s been stuck in Palo Alto too long), and inconsistent music. Then there is the club scene, and its attendant bouncers. The bouncers are inexcusably horrible. I’m a skinny white chick so the worst I’ve had to deal with is unwanted flirting, but several of my friends have horrible, embarrassing stories about being harassed or barred from entering because of what they were wearing. Other friends have been stopped for incredibly vague«dress code violations» like not having a belt(on pants that did not need a belt). All of these incidents were clearly just excuses for kicking out or excluding people of color who didn’t conform to a «techie image.» I stopped going after seeing this happen twice, but my friends and former classmates who come back into town and go back to patio for old times’ sake have new stories like this constantly. Management is inaccessible. No one is listening to any of the many, many complaints. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Do not go to the patio. If you’re the kind of person who likes the patio, go to old pro instead.

Went today to watch the game at 6pm. Waited 60 minutes, no waiter/waitress. Saw one passing, asked to order. Nope. Gave up and left thirsty and starving.

As seen across many reviews here and elsewhere, the security at The Patio is often aggressive towards women and minorities. They use ‘dress code’ as a reason to exclude minority groups. When I asked what their dress code is, they hung up the phone. The employee refused to give the owners name or information, and stated that they have the right to refuse service. This is true, but in states like California, there are non-discrimination laws to ensure that these dress codes aren’t used arbitrarily. Based on reviews, it is commonly minorities who are denied access because of the dress code. Likewise, many women are harassed by the security here, shoved out with undue force.

There’s a reason this place doesn’t have high ratings and now I know why. We came in around 6:15 pm on a Friday and were able to easily get seats by the window. One of the servers walking by gave us menus to take a look at. We ordered a beer and a cocktail. I wanted something stronger than beer with either whiskey or bourbon and one of the few options on the menu was a mix of pomegranate and bourbon(or was it whiskey). So I go ahead and order it because how bad could a drink on the menu really be? HORRIBLE. ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLE. The worst drink I have ever had in my life, and trust me I have had many drinks. What crazy person with shot taste buds thought it would make sense to add pomegranate syrup to whiskey/bourbon?! The drink was so disgusting that I couldn’t bring myself to drink more than a few forced sips. Those forced sips were torture. Might as well have been drinking a 4loko. Do NOT get this. Get it and you’ll regret it. For food we ordered a bowl of Mac n cheese and the shrimp in garlic sauce with pita bread. The Mac n cheese bowl is massive, easily enough for 3 people to eat. The shrimp in garlic with pita bread was just okay, nothing special. Our server took FOREVER to come to our table once someone else served us our food. There were all of 6 or 7 tables with people(barely anything given the size of the place) and there were other servers helping out. When we asked for the check she took SOLONG I thought my credit card would expire by the time she got to us. On top of that she takes our plates and utensils after we finish eating and gives us a box. To put Mac n cheese in. Does not realize or give something to help move Mac n cheese to box… So we’re sitting there like hmm lady how do you think this Mac n cheese is going to move itself to the box because by the time you get back to us we’ll be 80 years old. Sadly enough, we had to use the straw from our drink(the only viable option/thing closest to a utensil) to move the Mac n cheese and get out of there. Don’t come here for food or drinks, there are about 30 other places within walking distance with better service and higher quality food. Only worth it to come here at night since it’s the closest thing to a club downtown Palo Alto has.

This review is for the food. I came in with my friend during happy hour. The happy hour food is very reasonably priced. But I got a slider and was shocked to see the patty was about the size of a quarter! I realize its a slider but who it was consumed in two bites. with bun leftover. My fries were not hot either. The drinks were good though and the server was nice but I left hungry.

I went here during happy hour on a Wednesday. It was pretty pack for a weekday. Service was great. No one seated us but we have to look for our own seat but once seated we were served right away. The waitress was very attentive. Food all came out at once and it was not bad. I love the calamari and the garlic fries. The spicy chicken wings was a little sour for me but it’s not bad. I love the patio seatings in the back of the restaurant. I’d definitely recommend this place and will come back but maybe not come back with my kids since seems like we were the only one with kids in there :)

A few friends met up here for a networking event. The event was in the back patio, open air area; it’s a fine place for a hundred or so people with plenty of room and good vibe. I enjoyed my time here; the house Cabernet was solid, just $ 7 dollars.

My friends and I came here for drinks after dinner on a Saturday night. We were a big group so we seated ourselves at an empty table. We sat there for over 10 minutes and no one came to greet us or take our order. We had to go to the bar and order our drinks there and take it back to our table. Around 9:30, we were asked to leave our table so they can set up the DJ and dance floor. We hung out in the back patio which was spacious. We had a decent time. The crowd was pretty diverse. I think the entrance fee for the club is $ 5. My friend left the sports bar to grab something and the bouncer asked for $ 5, but he explained that he was already there. The bouncer gave him a hard time but eventually waived the entrance fee.

The bouncers have got to go. I’ve been a regular at the Patio(read: Fratio) for a few years now. My first year was the best — Stanford would pay shuttle buses to cart us seniors to the bar, set us loose, and pick us up at the end of the night. No cover, no weirdos, no bad nights. Two stars for the consistently on-point music — top hits with the best of nineties throwbacks, accompanied by the dude in the corner halfheartedly drumming along. Since graduating, I’ve learned what Patio is like for real-world people. One of the bouncers has repeatedly made me so uncomfortable I wanted to leave, following me around, leering, and elbowing my male friend. The other night, the same friend wasn’t let in because his pants were«disrespectful»(wtf does that mean?! They’re seriously regular pants…) He had to über home and change before he was let in. Some weirdly discriminatory bs going on here. We were also corralled into the Patio’s new«smoking section.» Previously, the allure of the Patio was that my friends could smoke anywhere and we could all drink and be merry together because the whole Patio is, ya know, OUTDOORS. The staff does not need to use excessive attitude or force to manage generally well-meaning Palo Alto people. Change your bouncers, Patio, or you’ll lose the precious few Silicon Valley females you’ve been able to attract. Edit 5÷14÷16 — went again last night — same old thing. The«security» creeps on couples with flashlights like chaperones at a high school dance. I’m tired of being moved out of the way by being groped on my hips and rear. I’m out — I won’t be returning.

This review is strictly for the night club portion of the business. I’ve never laid my tongue on the food selection so I can’t vouch for it. This club is good if you’re into being surrounded by lots of Caucasian people. It has an inside dance area and outside chill area. They play mostly your typical club hip hop and top 40s pop and edm. Though, I have an acute observation that this place is cursed with people with two left feet, including myself! I can’t get jiggy to save my life. This place is full of patrons who like to bust out their high school dance moves to bump and grind. Think of a white guy standing behind a girl and dry hump her to top 40s tracks. If that’s what you have a hankering for then this place is Perf!

THis place has great and great bartenders. WEdnesdays its really crackin, vince does karaōke here on Wednesdays. They also have a really good trivia here too. There’s a great selection of women here on tap. I’ve gotten some numbers here and I’ve known some marriages that have happened here so be careful. I’ve kicked it with some bartenders here personally. I vouch for there coolness. They have two bars one in patio and of course one in front. The bathrooms are always really clean. Parking and location is great. There’s lots of tree’s around. The sound system and lighting is great,. I also love the Ambiance.

The food is great– the service was rhymes with«bitty» Came here with a group of folks before seeing a play. One table was immediately helped. the other was not(which was the one I was sitting at). There was no server in sight so after 20 minutes of waiting(with no offer of drink order etc.) someone in our party went to get a server from the inside. Ten minutes later someone came out and took our order. We never got our starters so we ended up asking for those to be taken off our bill. Strike two. The server we had for the majority of the meal was fantastic… but, unfortunately, it did not make up for us waiting forever to get our check(she switched out with someone else). The food itself was fine. The fries were crispy, the chicken sandwich was great, the shrimp quesadilla I had was delicious.

Atmosphere here is very casual but you get all of the Palo Alto business folks so it’s a mixed crowd. Inside, there are plenty of flat screens everywhere and the bar has plenty of seating. We sat by the entrance against the wall which was perfect to watch history go down with the Warriors. Music is blasting in the background so if you were looking for an intimate ambiance, this wouldn’t be the place other than the fact that you’ll need to be in someone’s ear to carry your conversation at times =) The wait staff was attentive but that was also because my coworker was a regular so we received special treatment. Water was filled all throughout the night and we were always asked if we needed anything else. We all had a great time! This place is lively and good for watching sports or group outings. Cheap drinks and small bites for $ 5-$ 6! While there we got 3 beers, 2 mac and cheeses with bacon for an extra buck, 2 dark and stormys, a tennessey mule and a blueberry martini. All this for less than $ 50! Gotta love that right?! The catch is, however, was that those mixed drinks I got, all 4 of them, were weak. «You get what you pay for right?» It was good but lacked alcohol content and too sweet for my liking. I would probably stick with wine and beer next time. Nonetheless, t’was a happy hour indeed and I’d definitely recommend this place!

This place has A LOT of TVs. If you’re a sports fan, this is a great place to watch the games. The outside patio has a bar as well as a bunch of huge TVs, too. Once 10PM hits, they turn the whole place into a lounge; with a DJ and stuff. The only thing I found weird was the transition from a sports bar to a lounge. They have like 10 huge security guys that kick people off the tables and chairs and they put them away. The whole process took about twenty minutes. Really strange. Once they were done, it was cool. They also charge a cover once the lounge theme kicks in. Other than that, I had a good time. The weather in Palo Alto is really nice, even at night. Overall, this place is cool. It is pretty out of the way for me, so I’ll probably only come back for a birthday or other event.

I came here the other night for dinner and had the orchard salad with chicken. I thought it would be a plain flavored chicken but I was caught off guard by the jerk chicken flavor. It didn’t seem to go well with the salad which had green apples and strawberries in it?!? Just too many things going on that didn’t seem to go together. The other options didn’t really appeal to me. Food wise I am not impressed and don’t think I’ll be back here. Our server was attentive and she checked up on us often. At least they have good service. Unfortunately that’s not enough to make me come back.
