I ordered the vegetarian wrap yesterday. It was made quickly and tasted average. They used a tortilla instead of lavash bread for the wrap. I prefer lavash. Unlike other reviews I was not greeted by the cashier nor was I offered any free falafel. Price is very cheap for California so I like that part!

Like many Mediterranean places, this place has your classic wraps, plates, and even some deserts. Their lamb + beef shawarma plate has the classic setup with meat, salad, and hummus with a side of pita break. Flavors may not blow your mind, but they certainly made a savory, juicy plate with an addictive hummus side. I’ll give them props on portions; it takes a LOT to fill a big eater like me up and their hearty serving of meat left me very satisfies. The convenient location with both indoor and our door seating, along with reasonable prices for what you get make this a great place to satisfy a meaty craving or make a quick dine-in/takeout.

I have only one question — where’s the lavash!!! The meat is marinated perfectly, the sauces incredible, the veggies fresh, the free falafel! Omg! But then, it’s served inside of a tortilla! The horror! Don’t get me wrong I like this place but a tortilla never saw anything in the Mediterranean until the 20th century with good reason, it lacks the taste of a lightly burnt lavash bread. Bottom line, if you like lavash get out of here otherwise A+

I ate here last week and cannot believe how fantastic the food was. From the appetizers to the main dish to the specialty desserts, I enjoyed every last bite. I’m pretty traditional about eating out, but a friend brought me here. I couldn’t stop talking about how great it was and she encouraged me to «Yelp it». Which I’ve never done. If you’re in the area, it’s amazing, delicious food. The customer service is also friendly and prompt. Pricey, but actually very reasonable for Palo Alto. If you’re there, make sure you have the beef kabobs, the seasoning is unreal.

Pass. Well definitely pass on the chicken gyro. No exaggeration when I say the chicken had no flavor. And the tahini/yogurt sauce added nothing more than moisture it. Pretty disappointing considering this place has 4 stars and nearly 800 reviews. My fries and ketchup tasted better than the gyro. Maybe I just ordered the wrong item. But with a few other better Mediterranean places on University, and for what I paid, I won’t be coming back here.

I figured I’d get the namesake wraps — since the first Avengers movie I’ve had a craving for shawarma anyways. The lamb shawarma I always go to was okay, lavash feeling neutral at best, but I always figured I was eating meat and this was just indicative of shawarma as a whole. Sitting on California Ave, this food joint has always been convenient for me. Recently I’ve learned just how great shawarma can be. There are places with meat so well seasoned. Others maintain nice succulent bites of meat throughout the entire wrap. I come back this week and I realize that the Mediterranean Wraps rendition is none of those things. I’m basically paying 9 bucks for a sad and bland cone of meat. I keep coming back out of convenience, but I really should stop. When the competition is so much higher 5 – 10 miles out, I can’t justify coming back anymore.

I got the falafel wrap. It was well worth the $ 8 for imitating a super burrito in size. Falafel is green, crispy and has the yummy spices. It might be a little salty but the tomatoes bits and lettuces help balance it. If you like to eat it plain, skip the sauce. If not, go big on the red or white sauce that they have in the little containers. Bonus: I feel wealth just eating this stuff.

I love Mediterranean food and I love convenience! Reviews were right about this place. Fast service, great food, and affordable! If you are ever out on California Ave, you must give this place a try! Definitely recommended!

Favorite mediterranean place after Kabul Afghan, hands down. I’ve had some of the best service and met some of the most amicable friendly people at middle eastern eateries, and this place is no different. The cashier, a benign old man likes nothing better than striking up a conversation and having a laugh, and it is awesome. 5 stars for that alone. A 6th one for the amazing food, spicy sauce and falafels. You’ve got a customer for life(or as long as I stick around).

4.5 stars Convenient location right on California Ave near the Caltrain station. The best part of Mediterranean Wraps is the service. The owner is so hospitable and makes me laugh every time. Hubs commented that he must love his job and it totally shows. Both times that I’ve come close to closing, he’s always treated me to mint tea and/or a falafel. The food is delicious. I liked the lamb shawarma wrap, but I loved the falafel deluxe wrap. The lamb wrap comes with both lamb and beef with thick cuts of meat. The falafel is perfect– nice and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The wrap itself is grilled and has a nice smoky taste. The deluxe comes with eggplant and fries inside. The only thing I wish is that they had a garlic sauce! By the way, the mint tea is fantastic. It’s slightly sweetened with a nice minty flavor and comes out piping hot. They also carry desserts with a variety of baklava flavors and halva. We had the chocolate-covered halva, which was delicious.

There was a line coming out of the restaurant when my coworkers and I arrived on Thursday at noon. Parking by California Ave was also a nightmare, so make sure to leave some time for that if you are restricted for time. While the line is long, the workers are very efficient and by the time one is at the cash register after placing one’s order with the first guy on the food assembly line, one’s delicious Mediterranean wrap or plate is ready. I have to say that the star of this restaurant is the cashier man(at least cashier when we went), perhaps the manager of the place. When he wasn’t saying logistical things like greeting you, determining for-here or to-go, the price of your order, etc. he was constantly saying«thank you, thank you, thank you» in a warm and gracious way. He claimed to give each person an extra falafel«just for you ;)» even though everyone gets a bonus falafel, a great treat. I heard him offer«hot brandy» to a woman standing around waiting for perhaps a large order to go, and looked up to see him pass a small cup of steaming liquid to her. If it was actually brandy that would be amazing, and if not, still funny. I ordered a falafel deluxe wrap for total ~$ 9, which includes fries inside, among many other ingredients. Took me back to my trip to Israel where there is always the option to add«chips»(fries) to your falafel pita sandwich. The falafels fulfilled the crunchy-exterior-and-hot-steamy-soft-interior criterion. I would recommend Mediterranean Wrap for pretty good Middle Eastern food, plus the experience of entertaining customer service.

Amazing falafel, authentic Mediterranean flavors, everything at a fair price, with quick and friendly service. FOOD The falafel is excellent. It’s crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They’re often fresh, and sometimes the owner offers a free falafel at the register*. My guess is the owner(rightly!) knows his falafel is top notch, and he wants you to know it regardless what you order. Smart man. The sides are good on flavor and preparation. After many visits ordering tabooli, I can’t once recall grit. It’s a mostly parsley tabooli, which is easily my favorite type(e.g., rather than more bulgar). The regular salad is meh — request the free swap to tabooli. The humus is good, as are the baba ganoush and dolma. The lentil soup is worth its $ 2 cost. The spicy sauce is a free request on the side, and it clocks around 4000 on the scoville scale. Both the chicken, and the red meat«lamb and beef mix» are not bad, but the star is the falafel. Every now and again I try the chicken or meat mix thinking maybe I forgot their goodness, but I always go back for the falafel. *Most likely to get a gifted falafel if any of the following apply: — you have to wait at the register for your food — it’s not busy — you didn’t order falafel — there are fresh falafel ready — the owner is in a good mood — you ordered a lot and are the payer Note well! A free tea may sometimes be offered. This may be in addition to or in lieu of falafel, but under similar conditions. SERVICE Counter service. Self service water. Tables are bussed. Sometimes gifted falafel or tea. Almost always served with a smile. DECOR Petra and Jordanian art decorates the walls in this otherwise food focused and efficiently designed space.

WARNING: the spicy sauce is SPICY. I came in for a quick lunch and ordered a chicken shawarma wrap. I said yes to the spicy sauce because the equivalent I’ve had at other places weren’t all that spicy, and it would pretty much just add some flavor. Granted, my spicy tolerance isn’t the best, but I never thought it would be that fiery hot! I ended up only being able to eat half of it before it became too much for me to handle lol. The wrap itself is pretty big. They also threw in a free felafel ball, which was a nice surprise when I opened my takeout bag!

This is my new favorite on the peninsula. I love Kefta! And the kefta here was one of the best I’ve had. Packed with flavor, juicy, and hot. Not overcooked, and must be eaten fresh! The other thing that makes this my favorite is the complimentary falafel with each plate. I was even offered an additional complimentary falafel while I waited for my plate to finish. Wow! That’s awesome!!! The only odd thing I found is the plates don’t include rice. There are a lot of greens, humus, and bread. The garlic sauce is to die for, so next time, I’ll get extra. LOVEIT!!! Oh, and did I mention the falafel? This is BETTER than truly mediterranean in the city, which until now was the best falafel I’ve had.

After completing my PhD work for the day, I saw that this place was in the vicinity. Prior to this, I had never been in this part of Palo Alto before. Didn’t realize it was restaurant row, covering all the major ethnic cuisines. Took the lamb & beef shawerma wrap. The wrap was legit. That heat accompanied by the red sauce on the side and complimentary falafel bite. Thinking about how it tasted as I write this review is making me hungry for it again. The line forms at the entrance and moves rather quickly. It’s an efficient but effective operation they have there which I don’t imagine one having to wait long for their food. By the time I got to the cashier, my food was ready(within a few minutes time of entering). One of the better shawermas that I have had. If you like something sweet, try the baklava; not overly sweet and the texture was superb.

I love this place! The service is super great– they’re really friendly and makes you feel welcomed. I got the chicken shawerma wrap. The portion size was very generous– I had plenty of chicken in mine. We also got complimentary falafels and tea, which were all delicious. The interior décor is quite beautiful as well! I will definitely be back if I need to grab a quick bite in the area.

*REVIEWISFORCATERING, ONLY* I’ve had Mediterranean Wraps bookmarked for months. Conveniently enough, we had a lunch catered by them this week. Some of the dishes included chicken shawarma, beef, stuffed grape leaves, baba ganoush, tabouleh, and salad. — Chicken was good quality(not the gummy«meat» many restaurants skate by with), but it was seasoned to hell and back. — The same went for the parsley salad, I mean tabouleh; it was 95% parsley. One of my coworkers actually thought it was JUST parsley before we realized that was meant to be the tabouleh, haha. — Grape leaves were good, if a bit overpoweringly lemony(see a theme here?). — Pita bread was delicious! I’m not a big pita person, but this was phenomenal. I even took one for the road(aka back to my desk after lunch). I’d peg this at 3.5 stars. Would love to try it again to see if it’s worthy of a 4.

The wraps here are SODELICIOUS. The beef and lamb shwarma meat is extremely flavorful, juicy, perfect touch of spice and all around the best pieces of eat to bite. All wrapped with veggies into a grilled piece of wrap heaven. The new veggie wrap is also very good. There’s a great mix of zucchini, tomato, and cauliflower mixed with crispy yummy falafel. the only weird thing about it is that some of the veggies are cold whereas others or warm. Definitely ask for the hot pepper paste to go with it. Excellent spot if you’re feeling Mediterranean flavors.

If you’re in a hurry and it’s lunch time, don’t bother. You are going to be late. I ordered a BUNCH of stuff. Everyone looked at me funny. And I’m like, hey, I don’t live here and we’re going to take most of this to go. And we did. In fact, I just finished the baba ghanoush in our fridge literally just last week and we were there about two weeks ago. What I really liked: 1. Quality of the lamb. I really wish they offered a dish with JUST lamb. I didn’t care for the beef. 2. Hummus: probably the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve had them all over California. 3. The lentil soup was also super yummy. I actually DON’T recommend getting the plate unless 1. you’re a hearty eater, 2. you’re super hungry, 3. you’re looking to take some to go for later. I don’t know if I’d go back to the place just because I felt like the patrons were a little judgey(or maybe it’s just the entire Bay Area, I have no idea — and I’m from ORANGECOUNTY) and there’s not a good place to sit my family of four. Oh yeah, that’s another thing — DONOT bring more than one person to this place. You’re asking for it when you do.
