Stopped in this little shop and found some cool off beat clothes. Specifically a patched jacket.
Sales staff was cool. Didn’t push. I got to do my skim through the racks. Found a few items I’d like. Some loose fit collar tops, sweaters, a few party cocktail dresses. A skirt with a bit of flare. Funky but not too crazy. Pricey, yes. $ 50 tops for example. Good quality though, definitely high maintenance garments. But i noticed there were some everyday sports wear mixed in. All I got to say is, ‘Can you afford it?’

I have mixed emotions about this place. First of all, I DO like some of the clothing there, but wow, the prices at this store is outrageous! Even the items on sale are about $ 80.00 for a shirt! Most items are around $ 100 and up. As for the service, I don’t know how they stay in business since the Asian lady there followed me around the store the whole damn time! She was literally standing next to me the whole time I was there! Ugh! She made me feel like a low life and I’m not! There’s a security camera in the store on top of that, so I don’t see why she needs to make things so obvious. Why doesn’t she just keep an eye on people from a distance? She didn’t even ask me if I needed any help! I even made a fake coughing noise that everyone knows is a sign to back off bascially. She didn’t take the hint. I would’ve walked out of there if I didn’t enjoy looking at the clothes that much. I could’ve sworn that she was outside the dressing room too when I was trying on clothes. I had my back turned to her though so wasn’t completely sure if she was or not, but she probably was! Ugh! I’ve NEVER been treated like this at any place before. This lady was very rude! If this place wants to stay in business, they need to treat their customers with respect and not assume that they’re there to steal something. Also, they need to lower their prices.

I want to like this place, but… I’ll go back because some of the styles are different. I bought some really cool pieces(dresses, long tunics for leggings, long sweater). But, I feel weird there because I’m followed around closely by the lady working there. She is very nice, but it’s making me want to leave & quickly. I left my number for a mailing list & she calls me every so often, I guess that’s nice, but I’ll get back in there in my own time. Prices are(too) high. I’ll pay for almost anything, but overall, not everything there seems to be worth that amount.

I really want to like this store. I like some of the pieces they have… but…when I go in there I am followed around when I browse the place. Followed closely I might add. I went in there with a friend once, and I was trying on something, my friend was back with me, and so was the salesperson– super close– I am not sure why that is– I do not look like, nor would I «do anything» I am not supposed to do– I also like to mind my own business when I shop and not have sales people suggest things every 5 seconds.

This place is unbelievable, but not in a good way. The staff is nice but overly helpful. You will not have a chance to turn around without someone shoving clothing at you. And the clothing. I don’t know who these ladies think they are fooling. From the minute you walk in, they will scream«It’s from Italy» or «It’s from France». Perhaps it is, but it’s not good quality. The clothes all smell strongly of that scent that 2 for 10 t-shirts give off. The style is eccentric to say the least, ranging from weird to costume-y. The absolute worst part are the prices. I understand we are in Palo Alto, but that does not mean $ 420.00 for a coat is reasonable. For a good quality wool coat, sure, but not for this wholesale junk. Everything is marked up, even their sales are $ 80 for a terrible shirt. All in all, I feel sorry for these ladies. They are sweet, but you can’t sell low quality pieces for upscale prices. Not even Palo Alto people are that desperate to rid themselves of their cash.

I hate giving places low stars when the owners are friendly, but we have to Unilocal honestly, and some people just shouldn’t be in the fashion business… i was excited to see that there was a new boutique opening on university ave., but when i checked it out, i was not impressed… clothing is very subjective, so even though it’s not for me, you may love it… that said, from a merchandising standpoint i can tell you the items are mostly unusual designs — a lot of deconstruction and mixed patterns going on — that are hard to wear, not flattering for most female body types and don’t mix and match much at all… the merchandising is odd and doesn’t seem very well thought through. the store is located on university avenue so expect high prices.
