Kat does a great job, I have yet to be disappointed with her work. Too bad I live too far otherwise I would come more often.

After more than a year of looking, I *finally* found a trustworthy, skilled hair salon for my kids!(And likely for me as well!) We moved from San Francisco more than a year ago, and had a string of one nightmare story after another at each salon we tried — one salon, for example, chopped 8 inches off my son’s long hair when we had been very clear he wanted only a small trim, and another salon did a color job on my daughter that is still bleeding all over our house — and her skin — 3 weeks after completion! Then I found Kathy at her Salon, Hairshaper’s Club, and she was fantastic. Kathy took the time to listen to me and to my son about what he wanted, and she gave a cut true to HIM that looks awesome! Thank you, Kathy! We will be back!

I got a really good haircut from a friendly stylist. She took her time, and even threw in a quick shampoo and condition with a head massage for the same good price. I’ll be back!

I’ve been following Kathy for the last 20 years –wherever she works. So happy when she got her own shop on California street. Everyone who works there is so friendly and aim to please. Definitely give them a try– walk-ins are OK. They even do Mani’s and Pedi’s not just hair.

Im a little hesitant to write this review, because I kinda want to keep this place a secret for my selfish use… kinda afraid that it will become too popular — but okaaaayyy, will share with my favorite friends Unilocalers :) Had my hair cut by both Kathy(the owner) and Nicole(the Slavic lady) — both are great, and I refer my friends to them in a heartbeat. $ 55 for cut and blow-dry on my long layered hair — and I couldn’t be happier. Before I found this place, had my hair done at LaBelle at Stanford Shopping center by my friends recommendation, which was $ 200 and left me with a haircut that I wasn’t ATALL happy with because of the butchered clunky layers Back to the subject of the review — the salon itself is no-frills, but is clean and tidy. IMHO, the masters working one’s hair matter most, not the fancy appearance of the salon, hence I will be coming back here for the foreseeable future. Finally found my hair fairies at HairShapers :)

Kathy worked me in quickly and did a good job with my wavy brown hair. She was also friendly; I worked some of the time I was there and the rest of the time I relaxed. I’ll go back to her for cuts in the future.

Kathy has been doing my boyfriend and I’s hair for three years now! I think it’s time I give her some Unilocal love as she is an amazing person(and stylist). Hair Shapers Club is really a hidden gem. I will never over-pay for a trendy salon stocked full of green hair stylists that mess up my hair again! She and her crew are SUPER personable, bright, positive, caring, and warm ladies. I love catching up with Kathy as she takes her time to get my highlights just right. She never burns my ends because she works the roots first and goes back after for the ends :) I know she takes walk ins but is also available for last minute appointments, too.

The owner of Hairshapers Club Salon has mad hair cutting and shaping skills, is excellent with color and highlighting and gives a great shampoo. She also offers many other services which she does with great care. More importantly she is a woman of integrity. She often gives charitable services to persons who are ill, out of work, or in some personal crisis. Her prices are VERY reasonable. I have been her client for ten years.

Kathy is a very nice. I never tried this place before and I was willing to give it a try. I was surprised for the value getting for the money. I was pleasantly surprised that I got a wash as well as a haircut. Some places don’t wash hair unless you pay extra. Kathy was detailed oriented and very easy to talk. to. I would come back again when I’m in the Palo Alto area.

They messed up the waiting order and wasted my time. If you can’t communicate with customers, maybe you shouldn’t get into operating a business. Read on for details. I called this place to ask whether they had anything available. She said they would in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later I went there and one of them were cutting someone’s hair. There were 2 people waiting inside. She confirmed I was the one who called and asked if I could wait for 10 minutes. Weird that it’d be another 10 minutes, I said ok. I waited another 10 minutes and another employee came from the back and took one of the customers waiting. This was happening while it took the other one way more than 10 minutes after I arrived and I don’t even know if she’d take me next or the other person waiting — at which point I left. That was a total waste of my time.

When I first moved to the area, I tried a few places out to get my haircut at, but didn’t find the barbers quite cut it. I also did not want to pay an arm and a leg for a haircut at an expensive salon. Then I found the Hairshaper’s Club. I have found some of the nicest service here, along with some of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. In addition, they wash your hair for you, shampoo it, clean out your ears, and give you a short head and shoulder massage! It’s priced reasonably at $ 25. Anyways, I’ve been going there for once every three months for two years now and have never had a bad experience. I recommend checking it out.

This is one of the best places in the world that i would like to go to. I really enjoy going to Kathy’s shop at Hair shaper’s and get my haircut. My whole family has been with her for many years now. I’ve tried many other places but i personally think this place is my favorite. Kathy just knows the way to cut people’s hair and make them feel good. Her style is very modern and she keeps up to date with the new hair styles. Her technique is very skill full and so i am never worried that she would mess up my hairstyle.

I love Kathy and her new California Ave. shop. Always a great cut, color or whatever you need. She is a very professional and sweet person. And the new shop is comfortable, clean, and easy to find. Parking is easy with the huge lot in the back. BTW, I am a guy, along with many of her other clients.

Like the other ladies here, my haircut isn’t the most complicated thing in the world; I just trim off a couple inches. The hairdressers here are really nice, and although they may not be hip to trendy styles, they do a decent job. They take walk-ins, and when I randomly want to cut my hair(because I can’t take it anymore!!!), I walk in on Friday night, and Katy(or Kathy?) does the job right. She massages your head and gets water out of your ear, you know, like your mom used to do when she bathed you as a child. (side story: I used to faithfully go to Mary. Then she became«independent» and could only take cash or check. Since I carry neither and NEVEREVER make appointments to save my life, I stopped going to her, opting for whoever is open. Whenever I see her, I feel really bad and awkward.) They do manicures as well. Now I hear that they’re closing down this shop and moving to Menlo Park sometime this year. Hopefully they don’t lose their hairdressers!

I don’t have the most difficult hair to cut in the world, but there’s only one place I go willingly, and that’s Hairshaper’s Club in Palo Alto. I’ve had Annie cut my hair since I was in high school, and she’s been able to modernize my cut with the times, and I always leave with a manageable, fun style that is right for me. I’ve gone to a few fancy salons in other places, but I’ve always had to come back and get it fixed by Annie as they did something so fun and trendy, it cannot be duplicated at home without an hour and special tools. I’m a big fan.
