Excellent food, good coffee, great for little ones, good service. It gets really really busy on the weekends.

Service is extremely slow… I stood in line to order some food to go and no one even cared to pay attention to me. Two customers came in after me but they were asked if they wanted to get seated first. If it wasn’t for the customers telling the young lady in the front that i arrived first I would have never gotten service. She looked upset that she had to attended me and asked me, «what do you want?»(That’s a wonderful greeting, right?) I told her I would be ordering food to go and she gave me the biggest groan… once I told her I wanted to order pancakes she walked away from me. Another girl immediately came to charge me for the order and I told her I wasn’t finished ordering. I asked if she could make me a cappuccino or some warm coffee and milk(this is where it gets good) she tells me «I have no idea what that is, try somewhere else» she even informed me that she didn’t have milk… I decided just to leave and not even tell them anything. Horrible experience. I don’t even care to try the food anymore. I don’t like the smell and the ambiance of this restaurant(it just looks dirty and it smells like plastic)

I came in before I had to go to my job for the morning shift. I initially wanted to take everything to go. The café was pretty cozy and the waiter was welcoming, so I decided to stay in and try their NY strip steak with a side of grits, the steak had carmalized onions and it came with a side of eggs as well. I really enjoyed the meal and to think I was going to intentionally arrive to work late, the service was pretty quick that I was able to arrive to work early and share my experiences with my coworker.

Look I love this place but the service is very slow and my eggs were so raw when I asked for over medium. It’s unfortunate because this place really has great food. However I left so unhappy and since the service was so slow. I asked for the food to go. Also when my mother received a fresh cup of coffee the cup had lipstick stains. My advice is get your act together.

Great breakfast spot. I’ve heard a couple times from several people that the food here is really good but the service sucks. I actually came here by myself one morning sat at the bar and had great food and great service. Everything tasted freshly made and the menu was filled with all kinds of different things. I would def come back!

Outstanding local breakfast spot! Food was absolutely wonderful. Great portions. Grits were superb. Salmon croquettes were robust. I will be back soon!

Continuing with my recent trend of visiting small places in nondescript strip malls, I recently had breakfast at my local neighborhood diner, Walter’s…I’ve been here several times, and have yet to be disappointed… My tip to you would be to go there after maybe 10AM on a weekday, as there is no waiting, although almost all the tables were occupied. A young staff of servers and bussers kept things going smoothly. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive, although she missed our request for water, a minor flaw… the food was delivered very quickly, and as usual was on fleek! The eggs benedict was prepared perfectly… as always the pecan waffles were to die for, and the«redneck benedict» was great, biscuits and sausage patties, topped with egg and smothered in great country gravy. The cheesy grits on the side were delicious and had perfect consistency. Also, now they take credit cards whereas before it was cash only, so that’s always good. All in all, a solid comfort food diner that I’d definitely recommend.

This diner is as real as it can get! Amazing food, big portions and wonderful staff to boot. The line gets long on the weekends so come early or come ready to wait!

Folks I have been coming to Walters for the past two years, their food always on point there has never been a let down the place is always clean and I was always pleasantly surprised with our food and service but today was different I noticed the counter floor filled with debris cooks eating while serving the food on perspective dishes, chaos when it came to serving, the food quality and value was not there the staff was cursing while patrons still on premisses total lack of respect for themselves and others.(I do not beed to know how much your not getting paid nor who’s not doing their job that is something that is dealt on an employ management level. I am sorry to say that I will not be coming back to Walters, it has been a terrible let down ! I can no longer recommend this place for good nor service !

Blue berry waffle was amazing. The workers are super nice. It was all over too soon. My friend got the Redneck Benedict, it made his day.

If I could give this place half a star I would. I decided to give this place a chance because of all the positive reviews it had on Unilocal.I should’ve listened to my gut and found somewhere else to eat because even my first interaction was already terrible. I called ahead to ask how long the wait was and the person on the phone told me that wait times depend on how fast people eat and that it could change. After she stated the obvious I asked her if she had a lot of people waiting and she seriously could not give me a definitive answer. We decided to still give it a chance and showed up to a 15 minute wait which was completely fine. As soon as I sat down I was so unimpressed by the establishment as a whole. Trust me I am aware that this is a diner and did not have high expectations to begin with. We sit at our table and then a lady yells that the bar is still open if we changed our minds and wanted to sit there, I don’t understand why someone would yell that to you if you are already seated at a table. Anyways, our waitress comes up and was not very pleasant to start with and took our drink orders, she came back and hastily asked us for our orders making us feel rushed and unwelcome. I read Unilocal reviews talking about loaded home fries and I asked her if I could try those, she had zero idea or any other menu items and asked about what I was talking about and went to go ask someone if they served those. She comes back and confirms that they do make them and continues taking our order. I asked for French toast and she asked if I wanted powder sugar and I said that I did not want much and she told me to just not put any on at all because the cook will just toss it on. I found that rude because you could easily write lite sugar and not tell me a customer that you can’t simply modify an order. We waited and our drinks came with no straws. When the utensils were being placed on our table they were dropped on the floor and messily put in front of us. This is when it became very unpleasant, as we are waiting already not pleased with the service we had waitresses coming up to random tables with food asking the tables what they got. I’m sorry but shouldn’t you already know this? This happened 3 times until a waitress comes up and asks us just what exactly we want on our loaded home fries. She gives us some options and we choose and then she leaves and comes back and tells us she has to re-take our whole order because our original waitress messed it up. Not ONCE did she ever apologize about this or the fact that our food had not even been started because they could not figure out what exactly the loaded home fries were made with. Common sense would tell you to start the orders and if you need to hold off on a side then you can start that after. After I was told that I waited 15 minutes for them to have to re-take my order I immediately lost my appetite and needed to get out of there. The only reason why I would rate it half a star is because they did not make us pay for our drinks. Other customers saw what happened to us and agreed with the fact that the service was horrible today and that normally it is not that bad but I will never be going back due to the lack of friendly staff and disorganization.

Let me start by saying that I’ve been coming to this diner since I was a baby. I mean literally! There are pictures of me at only a couple months old here with family. I said that to say that I have been a customer of this establishment since then and it pains me to have to provide this negative review. I was there this past Sunday morning(late) just wanting The Usual(grits, eggs, smoked sausage, and a piece of toast). The placed was already packed in-house, there were a few people on the waitlist but I ordered my meal to-go. I waited patiently and waited patiently for my order, went in to check with the nice cashier and she assured me that my order would be coming right up. Okay, not a problem. People… After a third check-in with the cashier I became a bit irritated. Can you believe that someone had given my order to another customer?! I asked for my money back, one of the cooks came up to the register and apologized. I waited 40 minutes(I know, because I timed it from the point that she took my order to the cooking area up until she handed me the food in the bag). I was so hungry that when I got into the car I opened up the tray and proceeded to dig in… The meal was«blah!» I mean, it satisfied my hunger but I eat for the enjoyment, the flavor… I can’t just split ties with this place, I plan to go back and give them a chance to redeem themselves.

Diner breakfast food at it’s best. I would imagine that at prime times, there will be a long wait list because of the limited seating and amount of customers. We stopped by during the week for brunch and waited about 5 minutes for a table to be cleared. The coffee is good enough but not a robust brew. The loaded home fries are the best. Seasoned and browned potato chunks topped with cheddar cheese and bacon pieces. This is hearty with nothing on the light side. The redneck platter of biscuit, sausage with sausage pepper gravy with buttered grits was delicious. My standard plate of eggs, bacon and toast was what I expected from a diner kitchen. It was cooked well done as I ordered and delivered hot. They have cheap prices for the quantity and quality of breakfast food. The overall service was great and the servers were attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back.

This place is truly a find. It’s small, but that’s the only negative. The staff is friendly and attentive. The portions are good, and the food is like«home». We ordered breakfast for lunch, but the menu had a large array of options. The bacon was nice and thick, just like we like it. And for all the ice lovers in the world, this place has«hospital ice»(all moms will understand)! For real comfort food and a small homey feel, visit Walter’s; you won’t be disappointed!

I love this place. Super comforting food and huge portions at a good price. I’ve gone for both lunch and breakfast, never been disappointed. I really like that they let you customize your orders — I’m vegetarian and they let me convert the farmer’s omelette into a Mexican one, and they’ve always let me switch out french fries for mashed potatoes. Really the only downsides are the wait time and the cramped seating. On the weekends this place gets PACKED so expect to wait! I highly suggest NOT going to Walter’s if you have a large group. It’s just not suited for that. Oh and THEYNOWACCEPTCREDITCARDS so there is no longer a need to worry about having cash :) I highly recommend this place for an authentic, American, mom & pop shop type dining experience.

It’s a true local place. Been here forever and a day. The menu is large and unique, lots of different things. The portions are pretty large, surprised us, and we couldn’t nearly finish what we ordered.(not that my dog complained.) Everything we got was very tasty. Blueberry pancakes were large and good. Cheesy grits had a good consistence, and most important to me is that the sausage gravy was very good, nice flavor.

This may be my first check-in, but I’ve been eating at Walter’s for the past 20 years. This lovely little place, has remained very consistent. The service is always good and they make sure you’re satisfied. The café is All-American, with many southern favorites. If you like waffles and pancakes, you’ll definitely enjoy theirs. The sweet tea, is simply the best, unless you’re diabetic. Every portion is worth your money, and the service is worth 20%+ gratuity!

Simple yet delicious American food! I’ve been several times for breakfast and have never been disappointed with any of their menu. Coffee is on point. Keep in mind, they are cash only. They do have an ATM located inside the shop. It is rather small inside and can get very packed.
