I am a recent transplant from the Bay Area. I am accustom to getting a good hair cut without a lot of drama, if you know what I mean. I like to look ahead a few days and say: hey, I think it’s time for a trim. I like to make a call or text and see what’s available. This is how I like to schedule and get a hair cut and this is exactly what I found with Gino’s barbershop. I’ve had about 4 haircuts from Gino and it seems that each time they just keep getting better and better and the first cut was great! Not only are the haircuts some of the best I’ve had seriously, Gino himself is a great guy. He will always find the perfect thing to talk about while he is doing his thing. I feel very fortunate to have come across Gino’s from the very start!

This guy sent out a mass email on GROWLr, a phone app for the gay bear community so I thought I’d give him a try. I called twice in two days and didn’t receive a response so I went to his shop which had a sign that said «Walk-​Ins Welcome». He sure didn’t make me feel welcome. He never said a word until I asked if I could get a haircut and all he said was that there were three ahead of me, like I couldn’t see that. I felt so awkward as he never asked me to have a seat or said how long it would be. I wasn’t in a hurry so I didn’t care but I felt like he was rude and arrogant. I just left and went somewhere else. So much for trying to support my community. I never did receive a return phone call.

I have been a long time customer of Gino’s in both Seattle and now Palm Springs. Gino is an excellent barber as he is very detailed in all areas of barbering. Gino’s meticulous care for my goatee, neck, hair, eyebrows, nose hairs makes me feel great when I get done in his chair. He is a master with the straight edge and his ability to line me up and to give me a hot towel shave is unmatched by any barber I have been to. Treat yourself to a great cut and shave by Gino and you, too, will become a believer!
