Enso Hair Salon

When I walked in I was greeted by my new hairstylist, Kaitlyn. She asked me to sit in her chair, while she answered the phone. I noticed that someone else’s hair was all over the floor where I was asked to walk and sit. The comb still had brown hairs in it. She swept the floor when she came back from her phone call. She asked me a few questions and then took me for a shampoo. The water was cold! She was very rough when shampooing and rinsing. I do not have a sensitive scalp, but don’t ask for her if you do. When I came back to her chair, I realized she was using the dirty comb in my hair. She had not cleaned it. Overall, the haircut was good. But I would not go back to this salon.

Sheila Webb is my one and ONLY hair dresser. She’s beautiful, a great conversationalist and fast. I love the way she does my hair — and so does my wife. We’ve been friends for several years since I moved to Palm Springs. And she gives fantastic «movie and series» recommendations — as she cuts away what needs to go. Don’t take my word for it — call her and you’ll experience everything I say is true as it can be!!! And she’s in the nicest location and cozy salon in downtown Palm Springs — with easy parking — lots of great restaurants — and a wonderful selection of hair products for men and women. I simply would never think of having any one else do my hair. Period.

This dude rocks. He always gets me in when I need him too. He is very busy so just make sure you call in advance. He also is very nice and doesn’t talk a lot so it’s not a stressful small talk appointment. Great guy rock on

Bret is amazing! A colleague recommended him after I was dissatisfied by another stylist in the area and I was immediately impressed. He is reasonably priced and will tell you the truth — he doesn’t upsell to pad the bill and won’t tell you to get more color, or an extra cut when you don’t need it. I see him every month or so for my roots to be touched up, a cut or some additional color pulled through when I need it, and have no plans to go anywhere else!

I can’t even begin to tell you what a lift Brett gave me. I brought a wig to him that had three different colors in it and was a great cut. I told him I wasn’t expecting miracles, but as close as possible would be great. OMG he did such a fantastic job, I couldn’t believe it. Just took 10 years off my face… My friends say 20, but they exaggerate to make me feel good. He is the best ad I pray he never leaves palm springs

I came here yesterday with my 92 year old friend who has been going to Bret for a while. Her hair looks better than ever. I haven’t had anyone touch my hair for years. I’ve been trimming and dying myself. You’re not going to get chit chat out of Bret, but you will get a great cut and color! When he explained a strategy about my color, I was a little concerned, but had read the reviews here about how great he is with color. So glad I trusted him! As long as I’m living in Palm Springs, I will be visiting Bret a few times a year. Very satisfied customer!

New to the area. I tried a couple of places but could not find someone as good as my stylist in Atlanta. Until Ana. She is great, she takes her time, and is extremely pleasant to talk with. Great place, great location.

I received a great cut from Pearce. He really knew what we was doing with his scissors. I will be going back next time!

Great price and service

Having very short hair, I’ve been to hundreds of salons throughout the world. But having very short hair means that I have to get it cut frequently to keep it looking great. I’ve found a salon that is one of the very best I’ve ever been to — anywhere. And my hairdresser there, Pearce, is just tops. I simply say, «Do what you want.» And he has the style sense and intuitive creativity to make me squeal with joy when he’s done. It’s just perfectly short enough but not too short. There is a hair thin line between the two. It’s textured perfectly. It just plain doesn’t get any better than this. Give Pearce a try. Don’t try and manage him. Act on his suggestions. You’ll look great. You’ll feel great. Really an awesome stylist!

Bret is one of the most amazing and talented hairstylist I have ever experienced.

Okay, so I never actually got to the point of being a customer of, who I am assuming is, Brett, but let me tell you my tale and why I think he deserves 5 stars.
While on vacation in Palm Springs, my hair needed a cut overhaul & I wanted some fun/​punky foils thrown in to jazz things up. I just happened to drive by the Salon and it looked really clean, stylish, & modern. I spoke to Brett and told him what I wanted and he was very honest with me and said he does more conservative styles & I would probably be happier at another salon (which he reccommended and I booked an appt in). He also said that I deserve to get the style I want. I just really appreciate that he didn’t just grab my cash and give me a style I may not of been happy with. He seemed like a really decent guy and the salon looks lovely. I think you should book a consultation with him and see if you’re a good fit.

I gravitated to this place on Unilocal recommendations. As another poster just mentioned, this Bret guy has the personality of nails on a chalkboard. I had made an appt with him for 2:30, and when I arrived promptly, I found him sitting on the couch talking with a friend. I introduced myself, he looked at the clock on the wall, and said «You’re late». Kind of dumbfounded, I reiterated that I had made a 2:30 appt. Mind you, there was NO ONE else in the shop, he and his friend were the only two people there. Not like he was so busy that he couldn’t accommodate a mistake in appt times (but I didn’t make a mistake, I know what I requested) — he then acted annoyed, and stood up and talked with his friend some more before he acknowledged me again. I SHOULD HAVE WALKED OUT! So rude.
He gave me a decent haircut, but insisted my color would need bleach. I know my hair turns orange with bleach, but no matter how many times I tried to tell him that, he made me feel like I was an idiot. Would NEVER go back to this salon. Avoid.

Wow, so, I needed a haircut badly and was visiting Palm Springs. I wasn’t sure where to go, but couldn’t stand to look at how damaged my hair was. I was growing it out, but someone else over-​processed my hair and it looked dull and fried. Anyway, signed onto Unilocal and saw the reviews and made an appointment! I am so glad I did. Bret knew just what to do. Gave me a completely different look and although my hair was super long and I wanted it even longer, I now love my cute new look which I can can play with and do different things with. I can still wear it up, too. Oh, and he made my damaged lifeless hair look alive again! He doesn’t try to sell you products, but I really like the products he carries. I highly recommend Enso Hair Salon and Bret and will surely be visiting him again and referring people to him!

As soon as I walked in he was so mellow and professional. He immediately took control knew just what to do and he did it. He also blended my chopped up haircut and I have a style now… Anyone whom is reading this believe me run not walk over to him as soon as possible you will be glad you did!!!

I’m just delighted with my cut from Enso Salon! I was in town for a wedding and my bangs and split ends were in need of serious therapy — Bret whipped my hair into shape and I left with a gorgeous cut and silky, shiny hair.
The salon itself is lovely, very relaxing and zen-​like.
Great location, reasonable prices but best of all, a personable, capable stylist who will make you look great.
