I got a deal by prepaying on line. Check out was super fast and staff was pleasant. No more than two minutes at the counter I believe. Car was clean. Return was even faster and I was quickly on my way.
Gripes, they charged me a little extra though it was supposed to be prepaid. It was like 2 or 3 bucks. I was also a little miffed that the van I rented stated 20 – 24 mph and in reality it’s only 14 on the highway.

Hertz did me wrong again, and now 2nd time turning to Avis resulted in a better car and a better price, without the nonsense. I read other reviews here on Avis, but for me, they delivered.

Avis is TERRIBLE, despite the fact that I am at one of their highest levels of preferred customer.
They ALWAYS insist on «upgrading» us — which means we end up with a gas guzzling monstrosity. When we ask for the car we reserved they are «not available».
Get your act together Avis and learn about how to deliver customer satisfaction.
