Went here for karaōke in the Amigo room– There is nothing friendly about this place– The room had a old, stale sewer smell and that wasn’t the only thing that stunk! ONLYLOCALSGETKARAOKECOURTESY! The food was below average and horribly over priced– $ 14 for three tacos and that’s all you got. No rice, no beans, not worth the price– THEKARAOKEWASVERYPOOR– The song versions were horrible ones, lyrics wrong and the music volume turned up so loud, you could not hear the performers. Worse yet, the karaōke DJ was not following the rotation and we sat and watched people sing two or three times, skipping us over and had no idea of who was to sing. The place was busy, yet the DJ still felt it nesasary to sing himself, leaving customers shaking their heads as they were skipped over– we left after 2 hours, one song and $ 40 spent for six measly tacos– — Old creepy crowd, bad karaōke DJ — BEWARETHISPLACE!

Bartenders this afternoon were so friendly. I wish I would have asked for names. I had sangria which was ok. After having sangria in Spain nothing really lives up to my expectations. The four stars is based on service. It was not real busy but constant. The bartenders shared information about the comedy show they had this weekend and often checked to see if we needed anything. Also, without asking we were given water and that is huge to me. My next trip back I will return here based on the service received. Please tell them thank you again from me and tell to keep doing what they are doing because it works.

Whiled away a few hours here on a wet(yes it rained in Palm Springs.) Sunday afternoon. Nice feel, friendly staff and great selection of drinks.

We did a lot of drinking and hanging out here when we were waiting around or after the wedding. And one thing we all noticed: Full of weird people There’s no ventilation Smells like fart Let’s just say there were a lot of weird hippie people or people on drugs at the Ace hotel and ventured their way into the bar. It was quite packed on Friday and Saturday. They had a band play and took up half the space. Place was extremely crowded/stuffy with bad ventilation and smelled like someone farted a lot. We were turned off at getting a mixed drink since it cost about $ 12 – 15, so we stuck with beer.

Interesting cocktails and beer menu, I had and liked my first Pimm’s Cup. Cool, mellow, dim dungeon-like décor with bar, tables and wall booths. They even offer an ACV-turmeric beverage. Not cheap and bartender seemed a little grumpy for it not being busy and pretty early on a January Friday evening… Visited the Ace Hotel’s accompanying diner-style restaurant and enjoyed the whole thing a bit more.

As a frequent, satisfied guest, I was baffled by the service tonight. I came into the bar 25 minutes before closing to order three drinks. My friends and I waited patiently keeping to ourselves. All was well until the bartender(or barback… I don’t know) decided to mock us in front of our face, complaining about making three cocktails only 25 minutes before closing. I don’t know about the standards here in Palm Springs or The Ace Hotel, but as a bartender for 5 years in New York I know that customer service is key… especially when your income relies on tips. FYI: this worker had her jet black hair half-shaven with tattoos and piercings looking like a wannabe extra from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It’s a shame coming here during vacation and receiving such treatment.

I went last August and haven’t been back since nor will I ever be. RUDE bartender. Just horrible horrible service and they overcharged my credit card which is beyond unethical and just bad business. The drinks weren’t anything special and for the price they could’ve been a lot stronger. Seriously, avoid this place, there’s much better options in Palm Springs.

So I came to Palm Springs for a good time/relaxing birthday getaway with my best friend. To just drink and chill by the pool. We decided to go to the Amigo Room tonight for some good drinks and a cool atmosphere. We were excited because we’ve never been, were from LA and love trendy little bars and from the looks of this one we were stoked! First of all the place was empty mind you we got there nearly at 11PM. The Dj and atmosphere was supper adorable but we left the place PISSEDANDANNOYED and well in tears. We sat at the bar in the dark and the bartender was talking to some people and didn’t even noticed we sat down.(I work in food and beverage so are you kidding me?!) since there was NOT1 Security guard at the door we got our ID’s checked at the bar which isn’t a problem since WEAREBOTHOFAGE.(mind you we look young) and I have to say her ID is from Arizona(I’m 23 and she’s 22) WENEVEREVERHAVEHADTHISBIGOFANISSUE before and I’m still so angry! I ordered the I believe EL Ray drink and nearly was halfway finished with it, and after basically 5 security guards and whoever the bar staff manager is they came over to us and rudely said her ID is no good and looked at my friend like she was some 16 year old. We were both flabbergasted because we go out all the time and already had drinks at dinner and most places have scanners it’s 2015. To be denied because kids underage abuse the privilege and a REAL22 year old can’t drink with her BEST friend on her birthday is darn right crazy to me! She said they didn’t have a scanner to verify it and then just walked away, that is nonsense to me! I wanted to ask for the manager but I was just disgusted with the way they treated us. She kept saying the Palm Springs police were checking everything tonight and by God I wish they were there cause then they would’ve had a damn scanner!!! After that the bartender(didn’t get her name…) But dared to ask me if I wanted another drink because sureeeee what girl is gonna drink without her sidekick and laughed at me because I was so angry I was crying! This place is just A place that charges SOMUCH to stay at doesn’t have a scanner! And to be rude about it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE. It literally makes me not even want to come back to Palm Springs. Horrible horrible it deserves 0 stars. And I never leave reviews but I’ve never been so pissed off at the way someone handled a situation before.

Simply pathetic service. No excuse for it. The bar is half full, 3 bartenders and it still takes 20 minutes to get an overpriced drink.

We came here with a large party for a friend’s birthday on a Thursday night. The bar was pretty much empty(except for maybe 5 other patrons) so the 20 of us filled it up pretty quick. The bartender was very nice, but that’s where the good ends. Drinks weren’t great and very overpriced. A DJ was playing that night and after being a dick to several of my friends an altercation occurred and we all decided to leave. As we were standing outside the hotel waiting for cabs, the DJ, his friends, and the desk girl came outside to verbally assault us and tell us to get off the property. Really really not impressed with the frat mentality of the staff there.

This place is a joke. My husband and I had every intention of never leaving the hotel and giving all our money to the ACE, but after waiting 10 mins with not a speck of service and only 5 other people in the entire bar we left and went somewhere else. Seriously, hire a cocktail waitress.

When my friend told me that we were heading for drink at the Ace Hotel, the amount of prompting she gave me about how hipster this location was not NEARLY enough. Off the charts! As someone who is not into crowds, and prefers my bar scene to quiet and conversational, I am really glad that my first experience at the Amigo Room was in the dead of a SoCal winter. Even for a random Saturday in January, the bar was pretty full with another 20 or so people sitting outside, crowded around heaters. In the summer, I can only imagine what the bar looks like(and it terrifies me). I agree with Glen N. There definitely was a sewer-y smell here, like an overly dank basement. Since I paid a hefiter price for a well drink and a beer, I would like my drinking experience to not be marred by the smell of old pool. We arrived here earlier, around 8:30, but before we had officially left around 10, the people started streaming in. If there is an event at the hotel, the crowds usually end up here and fast. I enjoy the hipster ambiance of antlers, old lamps, weird statues, and«mixology» just as much as the average Angeleno. But this was not a place that i would come back to. I know that Palm Springs can be a haven for the young and carefree to escape Los Angeles for a weekend, but I personally subscribe to the lifestyle of Palm Springs retirees: quiet, quant, and preferably pool side. This is not it.

Loved this little bar. And yes, it is a very small bar. The bartender was awesome and was really patient as we tried a few of the beers on draft before we made our final decision. I loved the lighting and darkness of the place; it really sets for the ambiance. But it was great that you were able to take your drinks outside as well and enjoy the lounge area by the pool. I would have liked to come here on a night that there was an event, I am curious to see what it would be like.

Hipster, dark, and cozy with interesting menu, but every once in a while there was a sewage smell. My wife insisted it was the garnish station beside me, but unless they put poo in drinks, that wasn’t it. I want to give it two stars(for the number two smell), but settled on three. As for drinks, the first one was stiff, the second one was not(Excuse me, where’s that Asian bartender? He left? Damn.)

This is a cool little spot. Second trip to the Ace and a friend recommended we try this bar. It was empty! I kid you not! But they insisted that it’s a hopping spot every night, especially during karaōke. I trust them and didn’t mind that it was empty when I came. I really just wanted a beer and to catch up with my friend. I will have to say that I can’t wait to come back to visit and see what this place is like at night. It has small quarters, so wondering how so many people can squeeze into this joint? Only one way to find out. Next trip!

As CV bars go, they have ingredients other bars don’t have. They have a hipper look than most bars. But it’s still a hotel bar – which is great on Trivia Night. Vacationers like to drink, so if you stay(relatively) sober you can win a hefty bar tab on Monday nights! Staff are friendly some days, indifferent on others. Some nights everyone gets their drinks served in plastic cups(perhaps they don’t want glass by the pool if we decide to go outside); other nights my companion and I have been the only ones drinking out of plastic cups. Those other nights are frustrating, especially when we see young folks in swim trunks drinking beer in a pint glass while the bf drinks his fancy whiskey from a plastic cup. The events they host can be pretty cool. The aforementioned Trivia Night with Bella de Ball is a blast. Coachella-related events sound fun but get a little too crowded and too cool for me. DJ nights skew young, but there are always a few older hotel guests who stop in to keep the room interesting(and make me feel less self-conscious).

I go here on Mondays for Trivia Night hosted by the wonderful Bella Da Ball. I go here on Thursdays for the wonderful @DJday event — Reunion. I go here on Saturdays for wonderful people watching and a little late night lentil burger and Red Stripe. Ok, I go here every night. For the booths, the music, the vibe, the staff, the fun.

I wanted to really like this place. Dark, dungeony, basement like, the DJ spun some good soul, RnB, lounge house, but the drinks and appetizers killed it bad. The raw? Drinks sucked royally. Either the recipes are whack or the bartenders need to return to school. Chips(not complimentary), tacos(one bite wonders with hardly any filling), salsa and ceviche(in tiny tins the size of hot sauce you’d get from a hole in the wall 24hr Mexican food restaurant) were only tolerable. Maybe… just maybe, on a different night with different bartenders and only drinking bottled beer it would be better. But that kinda defeats the purpose of the place having a happy hour with food and their own mixed drink recipes.

Linda Bingo! Yeah that’s right… Monday night bingo with Linda. She was amazingly funny and entertaining. She hosts free bingo night on Mondays at the Amigo Room and the prizes were things such as koozies, boxed wine, champagne, chips, and pies. What fun! Waiters and bartenders were super nice. They have a unique bar menu, but we were so focused on bingo, we stuck with the basics… fries and bean dip, both of which were really delicious. They have a few beers on tap and a few more bottled varieties. Dive bar diner in the desert. It’s décor reminds me of El Dorado in SD. Sure, maybe I didn’t feel hipster enough for this place, but it was still a great time.
