Dr. Susan Blankenship Pediatric Dentistry

I suffered bringing my kids to this office for several years. As a working parent who has time to wait an hour or so past the appointment time before the kids get seen? Worst off the waiting room is always packed with people waiting for their appointment.
I was not happy about the fact that I had to sit at a desk with a high pressure sales person trying to upsell me on things my kids didn’t need before they would release my children to me… mind you my hour lunch break at this point has been stretched to 3 hours because they took forever for a simple cleaning.
They never did a bad job, but they are overbooked and the office staff is not very friendly.

Policy where parents are not allowed back with their children? In today’s world that is a terrible policy to have and we could not go through with making an appointment.

This pediatric dentist office is excellent. I will warn you, if you are one who needs to be with your child during the procedure, this place is not for you. It’s a personal preference, and the office is strict about not letting any parents in the procedure area. It has not proven to be a problem for me and my child. In fact, my anxiety is a little less knowing that he is in the capable hands of professionals. Trying to distract my child is only creating more of an issue for a high anxiety situation.
The office staff are incredibly friendly. They work very well with the children. My child was very apprehensive to start, as any child would be, and the staff worked with him and were patient with him.
Dr. Blankenship is great. She is extremely knowledgable and works so well with the children. She provided some great information on care for my child’s teeth.
Now if I could only find an adult dentist who has a treasure chest, endless prizes and cotton candy flavored toothpaste!

We have been patients of Dr Blankenships for 9 years. We hsve had no problems with the staff or any procedures. While parents do not go back into the patient are, myself nor any of my 3 children have had any issues with the policy.

Warning– they have an inflexible policy of no parents allowed while the child is being examined. I can think of no situation where a 3 year old should be in a vulnerable position to an adult, so we did not go through with the appointment. We have been to other pediatric dentists that have the same kind of circus around the visit, the treasure chest, the video games, the chocolate flavored toothpaste, etc. and I was always welcomed to watch the proceedings. I for one am happy to take my child elsewhere.
