Such a lovely European style coffee-shop. The owner is adorable and goes to Italy to buy beautiful pottery which is also for sale. The pastries are gorgeous; it’s difficult to choose.

So yummy! I was walking down El Paseo killing some time while my mom was at the dentist… Walking by this bakery in the window were these amazing cakes, cookies, and brownies… As I’m standing their drooling, who I think I is the owner comes up and said do you like shortbread cookies… Not on the top of my list but I would try anything with sugar… OMG the best cookies I have ever had! Just on the quality of the sweets I will come back… They are pricy but worth every penny !

Il Sogno — so fresh and delicious! My cousin and I were thrilled to find Il Sogno in Palm Dessert— a town treasure that was originally in Pacific Palisades. Our meals were exactly as we remembered — incredibly fresh and delicious. Mira, the owner, is kind, caring and dedicated to making this café a place that we always knew we could count on for seemingly simple yet sophisticated California cuisine with flair. All of their salads are beyond delicious — and so fresh. I loved the Burrata and Tomato Salad. Oh, the desserts — who can choose from the sumptuous selection — but we did, the Lemon Square and Pecan Tart were yummy. Prices seemed fair for the high quality of ingredients. I had just come back from a month in Europe and felt I had returned while sitting in this charming café. It is filled with a wonderful European ambiance and is hard to resist the beautiful handmade and hand painted pottery lining the walls and shelves(my cousin couldn’t and bought several gorgeous pieces). The only problem with Il Sogno is that it is not close enough to where I live — otherwise I would be enjoying their special kind of experience on a regular basis.

The coziest, cutest little patisserie I’ve seen in a long time. I was drawn in by the warm, dim lighting and expansive case of beautiful pastries. Then we couldn’t resist buying some. Of all the ones we tried, the flourless chocolate was by far my favorite.

If you are in a rush or have somewhere to do DONOT go here. I’m not sure if waiters were sick but there was just one women responsible for everyone, it took me 30 min and I ended up taking it Togo, this is extremely over priced as well for 12 bucks for a waffle.

My boyfriend and I were in town taking a stroll when we found this gem of a café. You walk in and the pastries are just gorgeous. Picture the movie«Chocolat» but with pastries. All handmade and so many to choose from. The scent of sweetness and butter filled the air… we chose a blueberry rustic tart. It was served with fresh whipped cream = fantastic. Fresh and perfect. The owner is very sweet and delightful. * It’s a bit hidden on El Paseo; roughly but not directly across from Wolfgang Puck’s Pizza Café. *

Great spot for coffee and light food. It is a bit hidden on El Paseo but worth the search. Fabulous deserts and pastries.

My boyfriend and I were in town for a little weekend getaway. We wanted to grab a bite while strolling down El Paseo and he thought this little café would be nice. I have a ridiculous sweet tooth, we walked in and I thought I entered dessert heaven. We ordered the ham and cheese panini with coleslaw and the breakfast panini with their homemade lemonade. Both paninis were very good, I didn’t finish mine so I could save room for dessert. of course! The lemonade was very lemony… Not sweetened like most commercial lemonade. Be warmed, it makes you pucker a bit. Lol. Not u drinkable tho. For dessert there was just so much to close from! At our waitresses suggestion I got the triple lemon square to go. My boyfriend wanted to try the raspberry chocolate square. It comes with homemade whipped cream(don’t ask for ice cream, they consider it blasphemy). Lol. It wasn’t too sweet, it was perfect. My boyfriend even approved and he doesn’t indulge in dessert often. The triple lemon square I had the next day. It was much sweeter, but still absolutely delicious. The service was good and the food was great! I’d love to come back.

They’re not in a hurry and you shouldn’t be either. This little sidewalk café on El Paseo is quaintly European, family owned and very sweet. There are 4 or 5 patio seats and plenty of indoor seating. They have the best cappuccino on El Paseo and a breakfast panini that will knock your socks off. The baked goods are off the chains and lunch is exceptional as well. The atmosphere & the vibe is very cool, but it’s expensive. A yogurt parfait, breakfast panini and 2 cappuccinos was $ 50 with tip. Don’t come here on a budget or in a hurry, but do check it out, in the end it’s worth it. Thank you.

I stopped by this cute little place during a shopping trip on El Paseo and I must say I had one of the best vanilla lattes I have ever had! I also had the turkey and cheese panini which was great also. However, their prices are a bit crazy. My total for those two items was over $ 20. I’ll definitely stop by again for the vanilla latte but the panini wasn’t worth the $ 20 tab.

Wonderful bistro. Owner is so sweet. We had the cheese platter(25.00) I had the cucumber soup which was very nice and filling. Other in my party has the mixed green salad which was rally nice with goat cheese and roasted peppers. Nice selection of sandwiches and paninis too but save room for amazing desserts. Nice long laid back lunch… Not for a fast bite and its a little high price bit worth it.

Small bakery café. Amazing display of goodies. Limited lunch menu. Our food was good. One girl was acting as server and cashier. She was very busy but provided us great service. The group of older ladies next to us were very annoyed with the server. People visiting this establishment need to appreciate the relaxed approach and enjoy the ambience.

Beautiful inside. Lovely looking pastries although may not be fresh daily. Small sandwich, Very pricey ! Bread didn’t seem fresh. Lady owner was rude to her employee and kept making a fuss. I thought that was rude in front of her clients. You do the training before you put them on the floor. He was a very nice young man.

I would probably rate this place higher if I were a chick. I can see why people would give this place a high rating. It’s cutesy and it brings back childhood memories of me playing with the toy tea set my mother bought me(I grew up very confused). Food wise, I think it’s kind of pricey for what you get. Most of the menu items includes bread/carbs. I’m not sure about ya’ll, but I like eggs, meat, and maybe pancakes/waffles for breakfast. If you plan on eating here, just be prepared to eat a plate of cold bread items. We also got some drinks, but there were a couple coffee drinks they couldn’t make(pretty standard drinks). Service wise, it was lacking. There was 3 people working that day and for whatever reason, I could never flag them down. I think the servers actually prepare the plates, which is probably why I didn’t see them much after we ordered. They also messed up our Unilocal Deal and they tried to not allow it. It took a good 10 minutes of talking with the owner for them to accept it. This place isn’t bad, it just wasn’t for me. It’s probably a good place for chicks to hang out and gossip. A little about my credentials: I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food. 9 years later and 55 lbs heavier, I have a new passion for traveling and trying different foods around the world.

«Cute» café holding the title of worst service. We ordered a chicken salad a flourless chocolate cake and a double espresso. after 25 minutes, we decided to check on our order, one of the waitress told us that the manager forgot to place the order. we waited again… The salad arrives with green peppers, which I am highly allergic to, nowhere in the description of the entrée were Bell peppers mentioned. at this point we did not want to wait again for the damn chicken salad! we asked for the check, paid and left. No apology of any kind from the manager who never came to check on our table. The restaurant had maybe three occupied tables when we ordered. ” Il sogno” if I remember correctly means in italian: to sleep or «dreaming» and as a matter of fact the manager was«sleepy» and our experience was far from being a dream.
