Very friendly, professional and prompt while being fairly priced. Mr Maksoud is a good man.

I have a pair of Frye boots that I refused to take off all last winter, resulting in holes on the soles and some crazy salt damage. I was told by my boyfriend they were done-​zo.
NOPE! I brought them to the very charming Mr. Maksoud, who, right away, schooled me on boot care. This guy really cares about shoes, and is passionate about what he does, and he does it so so well.
My beloved boots were ready less than a week later, for a VERY fair price considering what I had done to them, with fresh new soles and a brand new life to them. He lovingly went over every last detail to ensure they were good as new.
Mr. Maksoud is a craftsman in an age where we would rather just throw things away instead of fixing them. I am recommending him to everybody I know!

So one of my Unilocal buddies had recommended this shop to me, after listening to him talk about how he always gets his shoes set for the way he likes. He told me there is a guy his family and friends use all the time in NJ. I got the info and decide to take trip out there.
It was initially hard to find the shop being it is located Korean section of Palisades Park. So if you can look past all the Korean signs you have to look for the one in all English.
Walked in and George greeted me kindly. I noticed this article in Korean on the wall about how good he is… I think, cause it was in Korean and could have how bad he was lol joking…
I took 5 pairs of shoes with me to get new laces, shined up, wanted new insoles to make a pair more comfy, gun removed off (man it was bad), and the bottom of one of heels came apart (I guess I shouldn’t race people while wearing oxfords). George took time to hear me out and made sure I knew what options I had. Even asking how soon I’d like to come back and pick them up.
I came back on Saturday to pick them up.
Had to wait a minute because this lady was picking up like 8 pairs of boots from him. I found that to be a good sign, the fact someone would bring that many boots to him to get repaired. She was all smiles picking up boots.
It made me feel optimistic about the results I will be getting, I doubt my friend would have recommended someone who wasn’t great.
Honestly it did an amazing Job. I don’t even know how he got the Gum off of my shoes, the gum was all over the left and ride side, not just the bottom of the shoes… That’s what happens when you leave your shoes in your trunk. My shoes all look brand new, I was actually going to just donate them cause I have a habit of lightly using shoes and clothing (except for hats) then just donating them within a few months. I am so glad I went to him and my bill was much less than I expected. I felt like I got a steal of a deal.
That article definitely was saying good things about him. He definitely lived up to the hype.
I highly recommend him for any of your Shoe repair/​enhancements.

I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years and Mr. Maksoud never disappoints! From heel and sole replacement on my favorite boots to changing zippers, buckles and straps on my summer sandals — you name it, he can do it! Even though, my shoes have become more complicated throughout the years, no job is too big for Mr. Maksoud.
Fair prices and rapid service — friendly face is just a bonus.

This is the worst place I’ve ever been.
I took my brand new christian louboutin which cost me $ 800+ to get a shoe bottom protector since it has a red bottom.
This guy made a scratch on my brand new shoes (patent) and didn’t even give me a return for this bad service.
Not only did he not do ANYTHING for me, he raised his voice on me saying that he tries to give best services to all customers and did not even apologize.
After I said is that all you can say, he apologized and said he can’t do anything for me.
I can clearly see the scratch that he made!
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this place.
He said he’s a human and he just happened to make a mistake on my $ 800 worth shoe.
He does that for a living and for service like that, he did not even return the service fee which cost me $ 30.00. I was already upset that my new shoes wern’t as new when I got it back. He didn’t even look sorry. He said he’s proud of the service he does.
How can he be proud if he makes a scratch on a patent shoe?
I am reporting this place to consumer protection.
