I’ve been bringing my car here for the past 5 years or so. I havent had a problem. They have never come across as pushy, if something is wrong they just explain in detail and leave it up to me to decide if I want to have the work done right away, or not. As far a price goes, they seem to be a lot cheaper than the dealer but I dont think they are necessarily less pricy than a small auto repair store. To me, as long as they are fair and resonable and most importantly are honest and do a good job, I dont mind paying a bit more, as long as they are not trying to overcharge me. I guess the bottom line is that I feel comfortable and well taken care off and for me that is key. They are always super busy, so that tells me they have tons of customers that tend to come back, they must be doing something right. Sorry for those that have had bad experiences, hope this guys end up making it alright. So far, I am happy with the place and wont be changing any time soon!

Recently moved up here and it’s great to find a place that truly takes their time to look at your car. I have no complaints. Wait times are reasonable and they don’t shove their recommendations down your throat. I like how they explain the different parts and what they should look like or how they should run.

Don’t bring the car here. Especially, if it is 19.99 oil change with tire rotation. They don’t do tire rotation and claim they did it. Please go to a genuine car service center. Don’t fall for their trick.

I’ve never had a problem here… Been bringing my cars here for at least 10 years…
Prices are cheaper than dealerships, but a little higher than small, independent shops — good luck finding a good, reliable independent shop though!

STAY AWAY — THIS PLACE WILL TAKE YOU FOR EVERYTHING THEY CAN GET AND MORE. ADDITIONALLY THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
My niece brought her Prius in for an oil change on a Saturday afternoon and as the oil change was being «completed» one of the associates pointed out several other things that the car needed, making a $ 40 trip to $ 250. In the midst of the supposed work they were doing to the car, they put it in theft mode and the car would not start. They decided not to tell her about the situation until 4 hrs later, as she was waiting for the car. They even made her pay for all «services» before telling her what had happened. And then, they made her WALK home to get her spare, they didn’t even offer her a ride. They told her that this would solve the problem. After she did that, no results. They later told her that they had to take it to Toyota because they didn’t have the computer they needed to reset the systems.
IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE TOOLS TO DO THE WORK, DON’T SAY YOU CAN DO THE WORK AND THEN MESS UP THEIR CAR!
And to add to this horrible experience, since the car would not start, she was unable to use it and they didn’t even offer to pay for a rental. They also refused to refund any of her money.
BAD SERVICE ALL AROUND! THIS TYPE OF REPAIR SHOP GIVES EVERY OTHER SHOP OUT THERE A BAD NAME. THEY SHOWED NO REMORSE OR CARE.

I wish I didn’t have to give stars to post a review, because this place hardly deserves one star. Please bear with me, as this is a long review.
I had purchased two tires in April of this year and they both went flat due to nails. One flat occurred out of state and the other happened on my way home from the city. I had the tires both changed at different places (Wal-​Mart in Missouri and NTB in Schaumburg) and NTB brought it to my attention that I was charged for a road hazard warranty by Midas and that if I go back to a Midas they could change it for me. Unfortunately, the Midas nearest me was closed at the time and I had already driven pretty far on my spare so I didn’t want to risk it so NTB did the work. I saved both tires to bring back to Midas.
I went into Midas on July 3^rd and spoke to an employee named Timothy who said he didn’t think they could honor the warranty since I already had the work done, that he was in no power to make that decision and that he would need to give me a call after checking with a superior. He took a copy of my last invoice and told me he would call. A week passed, and I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt for the holiday weekend, so I went back in on Wednesday, July 10^th and spoke to employees Willy and Matt. They told me they had heard nothing about my incident, that they would talk to Tim about it, and that they were NOT closed during the holiday weekend. The very next day I receive a call from Tim telling me that he had been approved by a manager to do the work, they just needed to order the tires and I could go in and get them done on Friday.
I went to the store on Friday, July 12^th and tried to get my work done. Tim told me one of my tires was not a Midas tire and they could not replace it, which seemed strange because that was the only place I had purchased tires! I explained that maybe one of the places I had the tires replaced at made a mistake and gave me the wrong tire on accident. Tim told me it didn’t matter, they needed to have the tire they sold me back before they did the work. I understand there are rules and policies, but I felt that there was nothing else I could do and that I was being taken for a ride, essentially. Willy, the employee I spoke to on the 10^th asked me if everything was being taken care of and I explained the situation and he said he would look into it. He came back and said that the one tire was not a Midas tire and there was nothing he could do, since Tim was his manager. So, essentially, Tim’s employee had to take charge of the situation and remind his manager how to do his job. That is super unprofessional. I let the store manager, Scott, know the entire situation and all he had to say was, «Thank you for your comments.»
That was pretty much the last straw for me. I called corporate the second I left and explained the situation and filed a complaint. The district manager, Melvin, called me on Monday, July 15^th and we spoke about the situation. He apologized and said that he had spoken to Tim on the 3^rd and given him the go-​ahead to do the work, so Tim had ignored an order from a superior, as well as treated me like my business didn’t matter. Melvin offered me a free oil-​change at any Midas and said that regardless of the fact that one of the tires was not a Midas tire, it would not have been a lot of work, nor would it have been expensive for the shop to do the work. He called the store and told them to expect me around 5 and to do the work for me. So, I drove out for a third time and went into the store where Scott told me I would have to wait two hours or leave my car overnight to have the tire put on. I walked out and decided enough was enough. This should have been taken care of two weeks ago and I am not coming back a fourth time. I walked back in and told Scott how completely unacceptable the entire situation was. When a customer has gone over your head and gone to corporate, you should probably treat them like a priority over your other guests. Scott got very upset, took the keys from my hands and started work on my car immediately. When the work was done, I paid Scott (without being offered a coupon for my free oil change) and walked out. Willy jumped out and asked me how the work looked, and gave me my free oil change coupon.
I know this is a long post, but the level of unprofessionalism in this store was outrageous. The only two individuals who were polite, courteous, and professional were Willy and Matt. Store manager Scott seems to have no control, nor does he seem to care, about what happens in his own store, and Service Manager Tim does a horrible job of offering customer service/​working with others. Willy is a manager on small scale, but should definitely be promoted, as well as Matt. They could definitely teach their superiors a thing or two about how to deal with customers. I am thankful for them and their help but unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location ever again.

DO NOT GO TO MIDAS… THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS THAT WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO EARN A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS!
I brought my vehicle in to the PALATINE, ILLINOIS location to get an oil change. After the technician emptied the oil, he mentioned that the drain cap had broken off and was kind enough to show me what he was talking about. He told me that I would need to get a new oil pan but in the meantime I would have to get put in a temporary plug to keep the oil from draining out. He offered me two choices, one for about $ 20 and the other for a little over $ 60. Since they were both temporary solutions, I chose the one for $ 20.
About half hour and approximately 15 miles after leaving Midas, my car started to overheat so I called to let them know. I told them I was going to pull over to let my engine cool down. The manager agreed and said he would send someone out to my location to check the car.
A short time later, the manager arrived at my destination. As he was checking the oil, it started to sleet. As the car had oil, he said that I would have to take it back to the shop in order to do a full examination. I started to follow him and a few miles down the road the needle on the temperature gauge started to approach the red area. Before I could pull over, the oil light came on and then my car died.
A police officer and the fire department came on the scene to assist me and to check out my car to make sure it was not on fire. The officer wanted to call for a tow truck, so I called Midas and asked who would be responsible for the tow bill. I was told that if it was Midas’s fault, they would cover the expense; if not, I would have to foot the bill. At that point I was less than pleased. My entire day has been disrupted when all I wanted was a simple oil change. I had enough and I wanted a neutral party to conclude who was responsible for repairing my vehicle. Therefore, I had the car towed to a third party, GMC dealership. While at the dealership, it was discovered that my coolant cap had been off and all my coolant had drained out which resulted in my car overheating. The dealership replaced the cap and the fluid costing me $ 199.47.
About two hours later, I took my receipts to Midas and met with the manager, asking to be reimbursed for the expenses that I had incurred due to their INEXPERIENCE. He told me he would submit it to corporate and get back to me. About a week later, I took my car in for the district manager looked at my car. He asked me why I had the car towed to the dealership, and I told him that I needed a neutral opinion and my trust for Midas was completely gone. In the end after insulting my intelligence by telling me that the damage done to my car was caused by an accident, and that my car was not overheating due to my coolant being drained. He said Midas was not at fault and they would not cover the expenses. The technician was completely careless when servicing my car, and I hold Midas fully responsible for all damages and expenses incurred. DO NOT GO TO MIDAS!

They left a huge oil/​grease mark on my tan car seat. The manager assures me they’ll pay for the cleaning. The fact that this happened at all is totally unacceptable. Next time I’ll go to Jiffy Lube across the street.

Total rip off. May be good for just oil changes but I would watch out for any service bigger than that. Just got our car fixed from this location over the weekend just to find out later that the same repair costs about 50% less with dealer. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Did not even waive the diagnostic fee even though we got the car repaired with them, most other auto shops waive the fee once the car is serviced with them. Service was okay and we were treated with respect and all, no issues there but felt like we got cheated on price. I would check around for price quotes before committing a major repair with them.

Despite the employees creeping me out in their demeanor, they were friendly enough and (since I don’t know anything about cars) they seemed to do a good job.
The price is comparable to others in the area.
I will say, this place is incredibly clean. There are loads of magazines and tvs to entertain you.
And the added benefit of free coffee or water is a nice touch.
When I don’t have time to go to my dealership, I always find myself going here. I’ll be back.

A total ripoff. I went for a simple muffler strap fix, and they charged me $ 120. Later, I checked online the strap just costs $ 10.
Pls avoid this place.

I get my oil changes here and it’s usually quick, plus you can see what they’re doing to your car from the waiting area which is nice. The pricing is good ($ 30) and they will send you coupons for $ 20 for your next visits.

I’ve only had oil changes and tire rotation done here, but they are done right and reasonably fast. The price is very good — about $ 30 for both, and the charge for additional oil (my car takes 6 quarts) is reasonable when using a promo. My cars are reasonably new, so no «unexpected repairs» have ever been found necessary. I have seen/​overheard some «upsell» of services to others while I was waiting, but nothing too severe. I’m not sure I would consider this a place for tires, as they want it to be, though.
