Yes I went there on recommendation and found that the Head Doctor there Tom was fantastic. He was professional and caring, took his time with me. He just did everything right. What I thought was an anxious moment turned out to be nothing. I didn’t have anything to worry about anything in this hands. I recommend this doctor and his place to everyone. This place is so much better then the chains. Quality personnel and selection, why go anywhere else.

I moved home from Texas and needed a new eye doctor. I am so happy with the doctor and the service I have received for the last two years. I would recommend Gustafson Eyecare, and I have sent my family and friends to Gustafson already!

Dr Gustafson and his staff are amazing. Great service and always with a smile. Dana, Cheryl, and everyone there are great. When I have eye problems they always make sure I get taken care of.

I wish giving zero stars was an option. My whole family and I will no longer receive eye care from here. There have been several incidents where insensitive and RUDE remarks were made about my godmothers sexuality. Also, my grandmothers eye muscles were weak and she was having double vision. He suggested they put a prism in her glasses and she agreed to let them do it. They took 2 months to return my grandmothers glasses to her, and only did after she called to inquire about what was taking so long. When they returned them to her she was told there was a prism in them… but after 2 months her vision issues had continued. She went to an ophthalmologist in Barrington who confirmed there was NO prism in her glasses. When THAT Doctor ACTUALLY put a prism in her glasses, her vision started to improve. Unprofessional and very disappointing… and certainly not someone I would want in charge of my ocular health. Go to LensCrafters… Or anywhere but here.

Pleasantly surprised! The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The doctors were able to find a flaw in my prescription from the bargain«inside-a-shopping-center-by-the-cash-register» optical centers I had been going to for years. Even more impressive I walked in 6 months later to order contacts and the woman at the front desk looked my account up without asking my name. I was impressed

I had been a patient here for years and always wondered about the quality of my insurance because my out-of-pocket expense was always so high. Now I know why! I left here to go to elsewhere and found that it only cost me the 10 copay for an exam and replacement contacts were minimal cost after the insurance as well. Not the case here. The exam included a new retinal photo which the doctor raved about. I was impressed with the new technology until I found this was not covered on my insurance and costs and extra $ 19 dollars! I really don’t need a photo of my eye that bad! Also, I was charged 65 additional dollars for Contact Service Level 2. I’ve been wearing contacts for over 30 years and there’s really no special service I was needed or that was given. When I asked the assistant what I received for this charge she said«you get the trial lenses and everything»…not sure what the«.and everything» is. Just feels like they’re looking to gouge you for all they can. It’s sad because I generally like Dr. Gustafson. He’s a good guy even though he’s a Packer fan. =) I hope he’ll learn to change his business practices but until then, stay away!
