Mana Foods is the best health food store on the island. A little crowded but worth it because they have a large variety of items. Many items are priced well and you can’t find them elsewhere for less. Lots of fresh local produce comes through here and they like to help out small farms by purchasing in small lots. There’s a great deli and salad bar which keeps improving and expanding. Bulk items in the back room can save you a lot of money. There’s also a good selection of gift items for the household or personal care. A good company who contributes to the well being of the community with donations from shopping bag credits.

Excellent independent natural foods grocery. Huge selection, reasonable prices(for the island). Lots of gluten-free and vegan goodies, which I don’t need, but hey, I’m on vacation. Large prepared foods bar. I get so excited to find places like this when I am traveling. It makes me feel at home. A great place to stock the kitchen or load up before hitting the road to Hana.

We frequent Mana Foods quite a bit, but today’s review is specifically for the decadent cupcake that was purchased on a whim. I needed an afternoon pick-me-up and was craving something sweet. I eat gluten-free, so I was pleased to find a number of GF and Vegan choices. I settled on the Gingerbread cupcake with Lilikoi frosting. This was the best gingerbread cupcake I’ve ever had. No joke. It was super moist, and full of spicy flavor that was balanced by the delicate swirl of Lilikoi frosting. Topped with two pieces of ginger candy, it was a handful of happiness. Delicious and decadent… I was sad when it was over! Service behind the counter was quick and friendly, and there were no lines at the register, which was a bit of a surprise. Mana Foods is a Paia favorite and almost always busy… so Hubs and I felt like we scored to be able to get in and get out in under 5 minutes. Try the cupcake. You won’t regret it!

We were very surprised to find this beautiful and well stocked organic foods store in such a small town. We live a mile from a Whole Foods store in Denver, CO. This store matched our WF store and then some. We could not resist a few purchases, including Indian Dal Mix snack food, doggie treats, green salt. We barely resisted some curry mixes. We would be regulars here if this were our home.

Ayyyyeee!!! This is the Hawaii version of Whole Foods/Mrs. Greens but better. The people in their are a lil nuts which provides some entertainment whilst shopping. The prices are crazily inflated but what do you expect! Their desserts, breads, health foods, health bars, etc. are all on fleektinitzae. I wish there was a Mana in my hood, but sadly, my hood is nowhere near Paia. Hollaaaaa

This food store has the best selection of organic, non-GMO FRESH food I have ever seen. They have EVERYTHING, it is food heaven. You can spend hours browsing and deciding what to buy. The hot foods deli and salad deli are incomparable with a great selection of scrumptious gluten free, vegetarian and vegan foods, along with the best variety of hot fish and meat dishes. The bakery products are unparalleled including gluten free cupcakes with the BEST icing to die for. Too many scrumptious things to list, you have to see it and taste it yourself! A very low key relaxing hippie atmosphere despite how busy it is, pleasant helpful staff, an absolutely great experience every time!

I now know more about the personal lives of the health and beauty room employees than I do about the products they carry. The only time I was acknowledged at all was when I was exiting the room, and asked if I was taking anything out with me(an inefficient policy in which the store holds haba items hostage, as though everyone is a thief) which I wasn’t because there was no customer service to speak of.

I love Mana foods! Highly recommend! Best health food store on Maui. Makes my heart so happy with so many vegan products and vegan yummies at the hot foods bar. Amazing juices as well! I love grocery shopping here, it’s much more affordable then down to earth and whole foods.

Smells like hippies the moment you walk in. The place is a zoo of confusion once the doors open, a range of artist and performers seem to frequent the place that leaves one wanting to visit the DMV. The staff is nice and on their own schedule as to service that is, waiting patiently in line as all kinds of crazy is heard is a normal thing in this store. Having said this, I would say they do have a great selection of items, including some cheeses that are hard to find any where else, the produce is of good quality and for the most part it’s cheaper than some other options in the area, what else, well it’s hippie food some expect granola and whole grain. The parking situation is interesting, with some street parking, only when construction not in progress, and the lot is a stand still, almost like anywhere on Oahu, but than again you can send your girlfriend in, well then it’s just fine. Mana Foods is a «must stop» when visiting Maui. Love their raw foods selections and reasonably priced groceries. I am from Lahaina but will gladly make the drive there as much as I can. Parking can be a bit difficult to find in Paia but there’s a big lot on Baldwin Ave(across Maka by Mana restaurant) the store just for customers. Mana Foods No Ka Oi!

Go here, go here now. Well if you love grocery shopping as much as I do hahaha. This place is the greatest grocery store ever. It is sooooo much better than whole foods. The prices are great too. Plus their selection of natural bath and body products is amazing. They pack in tons of fun and good for you stuff into such a small space. It amazes me. Once we move back to the mainland I think this will be the place I miss the most on Maui. Yep, I’m a dork can ya tell? Happy shopping! Oh wait… I almost forgot. Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. You will have a better time browsing all the goodies.

Mana Foods in Paia puts the local Whole Foods in Maui to shame. The shelves are better stocked, more local goods are available, and the employees seem to care more about their jobs. It has a great hippie atmosphere plus more Vegan options than Whole Foods.

Not a vegetarian but I’m always looking to make better choices. Every time we compare prices it’s always lower here, arnicagel, almond milk, celestial teas(bulk size). The strawberry/rhubarb pie is… the best pie on this island… at a health food store… yes. I finally ate there sometime last month and can’t wait to do it again. Buffet lines never really excite me. Even if it wasn’t lying around drying out and getting overcooked the thought of freshly made food in mass quantities slowly becoming pulp looses any charm food can have. Well, the Thai beef noodles is outstanding. The Indian Eggplant is subtle blend of flavors designed to enhance the eggplant and not muddle it with heavy exotic flavors… oh…I like that too but this was sooooooo much better. I tried to get a little of everything, Pad thai, seafood stir fry, tofu and vegetables, even the Kale salad. When did kale and tumeric become a part of every meal known to mankind? All good and not a single klunker in the bunch. I’ve always hated this store for how claustrophobic it’s been over the years. Then they expanded it and it’s just more claustrophobic space. Who cares… I’ll put up with that if they continue to have great prices and outstanding food.

My favorite grocery store on Maui. Wish we had this on the mainland. Everything has great prices, produce is fresh, employees friendly. Came here 3−4x on our 1 week trip on Maui because it’s just the best place. The mana gluten free bread is the best! Must stop for anyone visiting :) You will not regret it!

Absolutely great place. Wish we had something/anything like this in Charleston. Excellent prepared foods, vegan and otherwise, a good selection of natural groceries and produce, all at reasonable price for Maui. Colorful customers and friendly staff add up to good vibes all around.

Mana Foods is the best deal on Maui go here is you want beautiful local produce, great prices on Gardein Meatless options and Follow Your Heart dressings and cheeses. The hot and cold food bars are great too. This is always a must for us when we visit the island.

I wish I could have found this place on my 1st day in Maui. Def. it’s the best place to shop for fresh fruits and produce with a decent price. I’m so disappointed with farm stands along the road in Maui, it’s ridiculous expensive! I’m always got good deal with good quality of fruits from the farmers where I’m from, and many other places I have been.

Seriously don’t bother with any other grocery store on the island. Well, maybe except Foodland because I love Foodland and their poke. But Mana Foods is what everyone wishes Whole Foods was — down to earth, healthy, and not too ridiculously overpriced. Fresh food, lots of creative options, and local offerings. Fiancé and I stopped in to get supplies for the week while we were on vacation and ended up finding fresh shiitake mushrooms, fresh oyster mushrooms, yummy hummus and smoked salmon spread, and potato bread! If you’ve ever been to Berkeley, this is like a compact Berkeley Bowl.

Great grocery store in Paia! They sell a large variety of healthy foods. Luckily went here around 8 pm right before they were closing and the deli was selling a ton of different boxed items at a steep discount(ono, BBQ tofu, mushroom risotto, artichoke lasagna, tortilla casserole). There were a bunch of people snagging the best items quickly. We ended up getting about $ 60 worth of food for $ 15 according to the cashier. The ravioli and fresh pasta were my favorites! Would not have paid full price for the items though.

I wish I had time time to write a detailed review but I’m hungry and don’t want to forget to write this. This store is amazing… Incredible. Really! I want to go buy a sleeping bag and secretly live in an aisle and eat everything here! Think Whole Foods but local and better… The healthy selections knocked my socks off! Just stop what you’re doing and come here… Leave your attitude at the door. Lots of hippies and parking sucks but so worth it… Get you some Mana goodies! Local goods… Groceries. Prepared foods. Little candies… Everything you need to fill the tummy while you stay in Maui! Dog food and treats… Coffee… Eden Organics, if you follow Food Babe at all then I will let you know that she would approve of everything in this store! Huge produce section and avocados the size of baseballs! Come here. Pronto
