I have two cavalier spaniels, one male and one female, that I like to take to the groomer every six weeks more or less depending on time of year, how they look and if they need a trimming to keep them looking like a cavalier spaniel. After waiting almost two weeks for an appointment I got them in for their grooming. Taking such a long time told me that she was a busy groomer and had a good following. I could not find any reviews on this groomer. After the initial meet and greet, and discussions that we wanted a certain haircut style with about 1″ hair length we left with the intentions of being back at one o’clock to pick them up. At three we received a call to pick them up and upon arrival my wife and I were quite surprised how well they looked as they always do after being groomed, but the groomer told us that she had nipped the paw of the male with the hair cutter and was told it was no big deal and that there would be no infection. Now it is two days later and the male is limping and licking his paw. I will be taking him to the vet tomorrow if he doesn’t improve overnight. I am treating with antibiotic cream and keeping it clean for now. Also I have to bring up that the hair that grows on the back of the cavalier leg was all cut off and I was quite disappointed. The entire haircut was done with a scissor and l noticed a lot of rough cutting on the legs and cavaliers are known for the way the hair grows on their legs. The one good thing was the price. I am used to paying at least $ 50 for a good grooming. Here I was charged $ 30. I guess you get what you pay for.
