Everything I’ve had from here is yummy but look out CASHONLY. Their tacos, guaraches, quesadillas are bomb. They also have flan, and Mexican Jello for desert and they are very good. They also have street dogs. There is a lady there making tortillas and a very funny old man singing Mexican folk music. This is a little hidden jem.

Food smelled and tasted funky. Below average flavor IMO. I’ve had better tasting Mexican food for sure. Ordered pastor tacos and pastor burrito both had that weird stench but I somehow managed to finish my burrito probably because I was very hungry. Not sure if it was old stale grease or if the meat had sat out for too long but something was off. That’s the main reason for the low rating. Salsa was red and green in small containers tasted okay. The limes and fresh cucumbers made things better. however an hour later I still had that funkiness lingering in my mouth. not so pleasant. Even my wife agreed it was nothing special. Relatively cheap. Typical hole in the wall vibe especially with cleanliness and crowd. Good local pacoima following out on a saturday night. Employees were nice and I didn’t have to wait long. They had a side kitchen with bacon wrapped hot dogs and peppers but i wasn’t sure if it was the same business. I know this place has been around for a long time since i remember my parents telling me about it. They even upgraded and moved down the block a few yards from their original hole in the wall location which still stands vacant, however this was the first time i ever tried eating there. I know people like this place but to me its flavor doesnt scream special at all. On a side note I saw somebody else’s super flautas come out while I was waiting and they looked really good. LOOKED is the key word but i dont know if I’ll be back take the chance to try them.

A dining experience that we’ll never forget. Little did I know that my friend’s taste buds were way off course. Enter a nicely run down empty building into a small room filled with dirty tables and a dirty floor. Mind you, no one is here… so why not take the extra effort to make this tiny place spotless. Naaaah, that’s to much to ask for. My tacos were very greasy and the greasy taco shells tasted like grease cooked and drenched in grease. When we left, I needed something to get that horrible taste out of my mouth. The condiment area wasn’t that clean either. The only plus to this place was at least the cashier was nice. It’s definitly not an area that I would ever come here at night. As for my friend, I almost wanted to make him walk home for torturing my stomach

I’ve never had a chicken quesadilla with corn tortilla. I tried it here and it was really good! They give you a lot of meat too! Small place and there’s an old man singing Spanish songs in the back, gives it that vibe. I would probably come back!

I am mexican and my mother makes the best mexican food. This is thee only place that makes home-made Mexican food. You will never catch me paying money to buy«mexican» food at some wanna be restaurant. This place is the real, they have hand-made tortillas which they make right in front of you! :) so take the advice from a mexican who eats real mexican home made food, this is the best mexican food in the valley! Plus all the ladies that work there are sweethearts!

I haven’t been here for a quite awhile. I was craving a Torta de Asada so I decided to check that place out! Everything about the Torta was heaven! The bread was cooked softly but crunchy. The only thing is they’re smaller than before, but other than that everything else in the menu is good! Torta de Asada is always my pick

This place surprised me. For a hole in a wall it gave a good overall flavor and authenticity. I loved the Carnita and pastor tacos.

I only go there on the weekends to enjoy their Hot dogs and Quesadellas. There is one lady that makes them really well and she only works on the weekends. She is very nice. The staff there are a bit serious but nice. the Parking is good and you normally can find parking in the park of the place. I’m giving this place a five star rating because the food that i have ordered so far is good.

Best hole in the wall Mexican spot in the Valley PERIOD. I’ve been going here for YEARS, and I have yet to find another place like it. Be prepared to take cash and enjoy the goodies this place has to offer. My personal faves are the carne asada sopes and the handmade quesadillas with carne asada and the green salsa. YUMMY! It’s open late on weekend for those of you who get the late night munchies after a night of debauchery, or early morning when you need something for that hangover! Highly recommended!

It was a Sunday evening and my hubby and I were on a mission to find tasty hotdogs wrapped in bacon with diced tomatoes, onions and maybe even jalapenos. We drove around different parts of the Valley looking for one of those food stands that typically set up shop in the evenings but there were none to be found.Fail. We were about to go back home when we decided to make one more try. El Mero Mero is yes, a hole in the wall but with a whole lot of delicious food. Menu item #1: the infamous hotdog: warm and topped with onion, tomato, ketchup, mustard and jalapenos. Delicious! Menu item #2: Huarache prepared with freshly made dough(masa). The lady’s pitter patter of the masa in her hands took me back to visiting my grandma and hearing her make homemade tortllas! Ahhh! The memories! The huarache was plentiful and stuffed with meat, cheese, and other goodness. Yummy! Menu item #3: Horchata. Not watery, just right with sweetness. The perfect accompaniment to my meal. In regards to the location, yes, the area is questionable/sketchy and the restaurant itself is very very low key, so don’t expect anything fancy.

This little hole in the wall joint serves up some bomb ass quesadillas. And don’t even picture one of those flour tortilla ones where they slice it up like pizza or even them empanada style type. Naw, heyll naw! These are made for you on the spot out of masa with meat & cheese. When they serve em to you, they look & even smell like you’re in the mother land. The little old lady that makes them even calls me «mija». Paired with an horchata, it’s some good late night munchies. Your Homegirl, Violy

The other night, I got a show with my tacos! A local wino who lives between the market and the back of the church was chasing a bunny rabbit. He almost caught it but it ran onto Van Nuys! The dude ran after it and caught it… almost got hit by a few trucks and a police cruiser, but he got the damned thing. He cradled it back to the parking lot talking to it. He said God Damnit bunny, dont you know those people at Mc Donalds will use you for their nuggets! My son almost peed himself! So we caught our breath from laughing so hard. And we had some really good tacos of asada… a deep fried quesadilla with avocado and my son and I split a Hidogg. bacon wrapped hot dog on a french roll… YEAAAA. We dont get down here much but when we do, its worth it.

Well I was craving some Mexican food and I was looking for a little joint, I was in Mero Mero neighborhood, not a great one, wink, wink! I has two asada tacos and a cheese and asada quesadilla, all above average, so I’ll be back! Probably wouldn’t go back at night… at least not by myself.

Went here today after church too see my old friends and the same familiar faces were still there with delightful faces! A hot champurrado lifted my spirits as i overlooked the menu. I’ve never really been disappointed here. I opted for something low in fat maybe steamed(lengua), boiled,(chicharrones), and oven baked(Cabeza). So i opted for three tacos since they really didn’t have a vegetarian choice that was the size I wanted. Each of the small $ 1.25 tacos came loaded with the meats I chose and cilantro/onion and topped with green salsa. Each went down great with a squeeze of lime, a few radishes in between to cleanse the palate and a pickled«raja» in between for a little fire. The meats lacked a little salt but we all could go without a little sodium. The champurrado lacked a little body. But it was hot and chocolaty. The familiarity of employees and the consistency of food make this place a good choice for some late nite eats or an occasional taco while staying out of the cold.
