I called Doug Slater to photograph my wedding deep in the hills of Livermore. I was worried about the distance because he is based in Pacifica but he said it was no problem and arrived at the venue early so he could take shots of us all setting up and getting ready as well as some scenery pics which made a nice addition to the final package. He has a great friendly personality so he is able to wrangle and organise all of the different family shot combinations we wanted and was able to extract great smiles out of everyone. He did a little photoshop to optimize everything but I don’t think he needed to do much because his setup and framing did all the work.

Every now and then I have such a good experience with a company or an individual that I regret the fact that I cannot give then 10 stars!!!
Our last family portrait was taken 9 years ago. We also had the good fortune to have my grand daughter and daughter in law in for the holidays. It was a perfect opportunity for a new family portrait. I went to Unilocal and looked at a number of photographers. I got a short list of excellent photographers. I did telephone interviews and agreed to hire Doug.
He showed up right on time Saturday morning 20 December. He is a humble and very professional person. He makes you feel confident that he knows what he’s doing. WE looked at several options around the house and nothing worked. We went down to the beach. Doug seated all of us on a rock and did a lot of shooting.
I just got the proofs of his work today and I am so so pleased. Doug has done an incredible and captured a magical moment for our family.

I hired Doug to photograph my daughters 3rd birthday last April… He really captured her energy and actually everyone’s energy from the day these are the best pics I have ever had of her.
I just hired him again to do a neighborhood photo shoot to capture all the neighborhood kids in full play and I know they will be as awesome as the birthday.
His pics are so romantic (and that’s talking about a birthday).
He senses the right moment and then captures the emotion perfectly.
I would obviously recommend him for any occasion and will be using him for future events.
