Valet Parking $ 8($ 11 for beach access). Street parking is available, but the surfers usually have filled that. :) Portions were quite large(and a bit on the pricey side), but the flavors could have been better. The prawns on the Shrimp Louie were plentiful and huge! The sides are where it’s at! The Mac n Cheese was delicious! The onion rings and calamari are good, too. They recently changed their clam chowder to add bacon, and there is only a bowl option no cup.

I have been a Gladstone’s local for years but after going here after quite some time, I noticed a lot changed. First, they have change the menu of somewhat affordable items into a couple hundred-dollar lunch. We were really blown away to see the prices escalate that high, but we give it a chance. The environment is absolutely incredible with seats practically on the ocean. I had the seafood linguine, which came out with a mistake, but the staff was very prompt in fixing my order. It was good, with a fair amount of seafood to pasta ratio. My cocktail was what you would expect around $ 10-$ 12, but the worst part was finding out I had to pay seven dollars to leave the parking lot or park on PCH(is that even possible?!) and walk back. The plain romaine Caesar salad was delicious, but it’s definitely not worth $ 14. I definitely think Gladstone’s needs to readjust their price point.

I’ll be honest — this place is not what I expected. Came here with a colleague for dinner and made a reservation for later in the evening. We thought it would be fun to dress up, since we thought attire would be a little more than casual. We were very wrong. This place is kind of all over the map. You can buy drinks in the bar as you wait, but can’t take them to your table. I thought it was crowded, not very classy and sort of dirty. Food was okay. The meat I had was not done very well. Bill was pricey, but that was to be expected. The mediocre food and service certainly wasn’t. One positive: This place has a great view of the ocean from the dining area. But for a restaurant, it’s a flop unfortunately.

Horribly over priced, small menu, small portions. Skip the restaurant and just pack a lunch to eat on the beach.

This place used to be good. Now it’s not. The portions now are small. The fish was not fresh. The view is beautiful.

You ran out of clam chowder. Oh well, left. The menu has gone to hell. There’s barely anything on it to order. Did SBE sell this place? What the hell happened? The only thing on the menu that looked appetizing was the chowder and you ran out? Moron management. I guess you bring the kids for the foil animals, coz what I saw on the menu you’ll be bringing allot home.

They changed ownership so this place’s plates are completely different tasting. Really disappointed and probably won’t be coming back

Beautiful scenery. That’s what you pay for. Clam chowder was just okay. Not much clam and the bread was not tasty. $ 11. I’ll opt for a drink next time and enjoy the view. Fish and chips. Hefty amount of fish. It was fresh. The fries were okay. But my sis was not impressed considering it costs about $ 25. Lol The crab cakes are actually good. The best I’ve had. Good amount of crab and crusted nicely. It is nicely flavored. Was yummy. Wish it came with at least 2. Valet is $ 7. May consider coming here for drinks and/dessert. They have a nice seating area with couches next to a bar.

I went to Gladstones this past weekend to have brunch in the beautiful Malibu area! The restaurant is on the beach and overlooks the gorgeous Pacific Ocean! We sat on the patio which is very open and spacious! We went around 11 am and it was not that crowded but the staff told us it gets crowded around 1pm for weekend brunches. The food was ok! I had the vegetarian omelette & my friend had the Mahi Mahi fish with roasted Brussel sprouts. I liked her fish better. The service was ok, we sat for awhile before someone came to our table to help us. They did bring us the wrong food order. The waiter didn’t write down our orders so that might have been why. I did enjoy the view & the environment is very calming & not loud! So you can definitely hear one another when you are talking at the table.

At Gladstones, you see all walks of life. Just watch as the various groups of people enter the establishment after dropping their vehicles off at the valet. It seems to be quite the scene here. I visited Gladstones after biking over to the restaurant from Santa Monica beach. It was a perfect place to enjoy some beers and light appetizers. As mentioned in prior reviews, you’ve got one heck of a view from this place! It’s obvious that the drink and food prices are inflated due to the on-beach location, and I’m okay with that. As I’m from out of town, Gladstones was a special place to go grab some drinks and hang out on the beach. I would like to come back here for either lunch or dinner.

So, my family has been coming here traditionally for many years and they finally brought me here for the first time. Just pointing out, I’m giving this place 3⁄5 starts solely because their Brussel Sprouts were really good and also their view was spectacular. Now, we ordered the tuna tartare, Brussel sprouts, fish n chips, grilled cheese, a Louie salad, and a burger. The food was exceptional. The service, not so much. As soon as we were seated, we made eye contact with the waiter because we were ready to give our order. It took him 25 minutes to get to us to even write the order down. As we were ordering, he offered us a $ 120 seafood pot and because we weren’t in the mood to have that, he seemed less eager to help us. Let me tell you that our order took literally an hour to get to us and the food was cold when they brought it to our table. The annoying thing about this is that there were people seated way after us and they received their orders much sooner than we did, which was weird. Anyway, the service just didn’t do it for my family and I. The food, like I said, was okay. Still thinking about coming back to this place or not. It was a disappointment for my family whose been coming here for years.

Love this place. Beautiful ocean views and great seafood. A must stop in your Malibu adventures. I recommend the Grand Plateau, Seafood Ceviche and of course the oysters.

Oysters are great, halibut tastes wonderful, tuna tartar was delicious. Cons: bread was whatever, but they charge $ 2 for bread, a place this pricey kind of seems cheap. Salmon wasn’t very good and they refused to change the goat cheese to any other cheese that exists. Server told us that the corporation that owned them no longer does, they fired the general manager and they have a new chef and new menu and the chef doesn’t allow any changes to the menu regardless of the fact that my wife is allergic to goat cheese, seems a bit ridiculous. Service was slow, everyone seemed disorganized, I asked for ranch 6 times and the waiter kept forgetting until I finally asked the bus boy who brought it in 5 seconds, so I tipped him $ 5 for being attentive, thank you. Almost 80% of all the pictures and menu items on Unilocal they no longer have on their menu. I think I am being extremely generous with a 3 star review but that’s only because 50% of the food was good and the view was nice, aside from that, it’s overrated, won’t go back.

The food tasted a LITTLE better than dog food. No, I haven’t tried dog food but I’m using my imagination here. The steak tasted like burnt I-dont-know-what while the mac n cheese tasted bland, the ceviche was smothered with old chopped onions so there’s that, and the salmon tasted as if it were drenched in oil and then fried for a few seconds then put on the grill to get a few grill lines. I don’t know what the dessert tasted like, but it looks like something that was purchased from Vons(market) across the street. I’ve been here a few times so I know it’s not bad luck, but no more chances. This precious parcel of real estate should be leased to someone else.

Well the view is not bad and we were grateful for the valet parking. It is $ 7, cash only. This place is very spendy for what you get. Even for lunch. We truly paid for the location. But, It was fun. And great people watching. My hubby ordered a bowl of clam chowder, and ceviche. This was pretty good but we are real seafood snobs. I stuck with the Maryland crab cake appetizer. That I liked. It came with a small salad. The people next to us ordered a seafood platter which included scallops crab legs, shrimp, etc it looked fun and tasty. I will come here again when I am feeling flush.

Went on a Sunday around brunch time for the first time. I though it would be crowded, well it somewhat was. However, i did see available tables, wait was about 10 mins. Not bad, my girlfriend and I went out to the bar where the waiting area was and helped ourselves to a drink. They called us sooner than expected, and request was fill, which was to sit by the wondow/ocean. OMG what a view!!! Staff was quick and friendly, we weren’t too hungry but order oysters. They were fresh and tasty. Parking, I want to say we had to pay $ 4. I would like to come back at night I’m sure the view is just as good. Please follow my Instagram FoodguruLA

Location & views. That’s what you go to Gladatone’s for. The food is just okay and overpriced. It’s always crowded. Usually a lot of tourists(up to you whether that’s good or bad). But it’s Malibu and like I said you go for the scene & not the cuisine. The views really are stunning and the drive up PCH to get there is remarkable. Definitely make a reservation, even if you’re going for lunch.

I strongly think that people go here not just for the food but scenary and location. It’s located right in front of Pacific Palisades which has the beautiful beach front. As for the food, some are mediocre and some are good. They’re way too expense for the kind of food being served but I guess the food price also includes the price for the location as well. Parking costs $ 7 and there’s no validation or waiver even if you dine in. Expect waiting time even if you make the reservation. One thing I gotta mention is how they prepare your togo for your leftovers. They have servers who can make your leftover container into an art form with an aluminum foil. That was pretty impressive.

Came here recently for my parent’s 40th anniversary and we really enjoyed it. 1. Tip: make a reservation, about 30 – 40 mins before sunset and ask for a table inside with a window view! Can’t beat So Cal sunsets. 2. Service was excellent. Even on a crowded night we never had to wait long for anything. Including the yummy free bread! 3. The food was great. We shared the Crabbake(it was enough for 3 of us)! It was all super fresh, I didn’t even know I liked half that stuff. My mom had a Mai Tai too and I thought it was perfectly mixed. 4. They gave us our dessert(a giant brownie sundae) on the house for my parents anniversary. How sweet! 5. Hot towels to end the meal. Nice touch. Overall a great place for a special occasion. Plan to spend some dough… it’s not the cheapest option. Let that go and have a good time! Valet parking only if in the lot.
