Hit or miss… Depends on the barista I suppose. I ordered an iced coffee and it was pure grounds. Tasted a few days old. Coffee doesn’t do well refrigerated. Even though that is convenient, the acidity rises to the top and it doesn’t taste rich like it was freshly brewed. Another few times the creamer was dripping into the ice box and every time I got my iced coffee there was frozen dried cream on the ice. Basically, I have always had to ask to have my drink remade unfortunately. I feel terrible for writing this but it is the truth and I really hope the management can help turn this place around. I rarely come in anymore. Excellent quiches. Basic pastry selection. The Power green smoothie is really good. Not ideal for a big breakfast. Holly’s or Toasties across the street is perfect for a big breakfast. Comfortable environment to have a cup of coffee and enjoy a book or get some work done.

With«juice» being half is name, I expected more from their juice selection. Today they only had orange juice. The strawberry banana smoothie does not taste fresh and left a pit in my stomach. I can’t speak for the coffee, but stay away if you are expecting jamba juice or Robeks.

We had a great experience at this cute local coffee shop today! Scones were delicious and the coffee and tea were just right. The shop is very low key and beautifully decorated — the man behind the counter was very kind and engaging. We will definitely return soon!

Amazing green smoothie. I hope they keep it forever. Soy milk, almonds, kale, honey, granola… a bunch of other items you find at Whole Foods. Also, I noticed they redesigned the menu(finally!) and it’s much better. I’m looking forward to trying one of their blast burritos.

A great cup of coffee and terrific conversation with the folks behind the counter. Made us feel at home 1000 miles away from home. We will come back again before we leave town.

A really nice and comfortable establishment to enjoy a cup of coffee and maybe read a little. As a huge bonus to that, they also serve some good food items that include scones, breakfast items, even a couple of well done quiche selections. A few small tables are available out front which are really nice on a sunny day.

Finally returned. Maybe it was because I was new to Unilocal or in a rush, whatever the reason, this time I’m prepared to comment beyond«awesome!» My original sentiment stands. Walking in your greeted by a very nice fragrance. Not sure if it’s the coffee or food, but it is terrific. The service is outstanding. The food and beverages are yummy. And the environment is laid-back and comfy. Basically, you can swing through for a quick bite or set-up shop and get work done. Our fare included mocha, kids hot chocolates, latte, regular coffee, ham and cheese, and spinach and mushroom quiches, bacon and cheese panini, and a scone. All of dint minus the scone was terrific and we would order it again. The scone wasn’t terrible, just too much butter/shortening for our taste.

For a place that is called juice and Java their menu states they sell apple and Orange juice but in fact they only sell orange juice. Kind of a disappointment. We order two smoothies. Strawberry banana and peach banana both weren’t very flavorful. Pretty disappointing. Maybe there Java is better but their menu is very limited. They should call this place a bakery because they had more baked goods thing drink options. Maybe one day I’ll be able to come back and try their coffee and baked goods to give this place a better review. Also, the cashier girl wasn’t very welcoming. Word of advice for her– if you see a new customer maybe have a smile on your face and ask them if they need help and offer a recommendation so the customers can try something tasty and not give bad reviews to this place.

This is our go-to coffee shop on the peninsula. We frequently go to study here as they have free wifi, yes free, and lots of seating, tables, sofas, etc. The coffee is great, always fresh and always brewing more, and they do pour-overs and lattes and everything you would expect from a boutique coffee shop. They also have beer and wine, and have a variety of food, snacks, deserts, cakes, and more. Everyone there has always been super friendly to us without exception. We tried a bunch of coffee places on the peninsula trying to find one where we could go hang out at and enjoy a good drink and we found it here. Oh and I assume the restroom uses tokens to enter, which they give you if you’re a customer, to minimize the amount of tourists, of which they are a LOT, and hobos, of which there are a LOT, from using and trashing the restroom and not doing business there. Never bothered me as I’m a customer but granted not something you see frequently.

Excellent coffee drinks. They have really good equipment for it. Very roomy. A couple couches, lots of seating area and a fire place as well as one large TV screen. I loved the art they displayed for sale. The do serve a few baked goods and cakes. *only one restroom and you need to ask for a token.

no real fresh juice, don’t know why they use juice in their name? the front of the restaurant look nice with a fireplace and lots of places to sit. but the bathroom requires a coin? are you serious? how ghetto is that? not something u expected in this area. the prices are very fair, and quality is good. however I can’t get over the bathroom didn’t have toilet seat covers or paper towels and it was dirty peeling and old. So that is why I give the low review because the owner should put in a few bucks and make his facility nice not just the front. the staff was friendly. but bathrooms give people the impression that the behind the scenes of a restaurant are dirty too.

So I went in there today, having read here that they don’t accept cards, but hoping. I ask the woman if they accept cards, and she says they do, so I figure out what I want and order. During this portion of the visit she is very friendly. So she finishes making my drink and goes to swipe my card, which is admittedly a little bent in the middle(although I have never had it not work at another place AND it worked with the same type of «cube» or «square» card reader immediately afterwards in the adorable Butterfly shop right behind it)…but anyway, the girl gives me this«I don’t know what to do look» so I tell her«I guess I will just go home and get some cash» to which she tells me «ok! I’ll hold on to this. Thanks!» this being my card. I tell her«doesn’t seem like there’s any other choices» and proceed to walk to my car, drive home, get both cash and another card, and drive back… to which I get«thanks! Sorry about that» You’ve got to be kidding me. As she knew from our precious conversation, we have only been in the area a couple of months, we are military and my husband is currently overseas for a year, and I home school my two kids. My parents were kind enough to babysit today, and I wanted to relax, get a coffee, and shop around town… NOT spend half of my precious few hours driving home. I wouldn’t have ordered anything had I known, and had she tried to swipe the card after I ordered and before making my drink she could have just not made it and I could have been on my way! I honestly can’t even remember if the mocha was good or not because it was so ridiculous!

Juice n Java is a great spacious coffee shop in Pacific Grove. It is comfortable to work at and they have several outlets around for charging up your laptop. They have some snacks available, coffee, smoothies, and some juices. Really nice artwork too! Of all the spots here in Pacific Grove or the Monterey Peninsula for that matter, this is the spot to go. No fancy views like other places, but it is a great place to be productive and enjoy some non-alcoholic drinks :-)

I’ve been going in Juice N Java for the past few weeks and I love it! I’ve gotten to know the baristas as well as the owner. After talking to the owner I found out he’s recently«cleaned house» with employees and he is also trying to «revamp» the place. Seems he bought out his old partner and is doing things differently. The coffee is always great, I particularly enjoy the Chai! Definitely a great place to hang out and enjoy a hot or cold drink and watch everything downtown. I suggested they do more food and the owner said there is a full menu on the way which I am very excited about! Being from out of town it’s nice to find a coffee shop that is so homey with friendly people. Juice N Java just put in a new brewing system and they take cards now! Looks like they really are revamping the place! :)

This coffee place definitely has a great potential, but missing only a few nuances. Given: 1. Nicely located joint, cozy decorated environment with lots of places to sit: Comfy sofas, arm chairs and cute tables. 2. Good espresso machine, reasonably priced coffee. In need of improvement: 1. Customer service. Work in coffee shop implies dealing with people. Being nice will improve customers’ satisfaction and tips. Grim cashier and cranky barista is not a pretty site when trying to purchase a cup of hot happiness. As smart people said ‘A smile is a lighting system of the face, a cooling system of the head, and the heating system of the heart.‘ 2. Cash only clause. I understand that it is the most convenient payment method for you, but maybe not for your customers. There are many payment channels one can set up these days. 3. I’ve seen a lot of things but never a token based washroom. *see the picture I hope the owners of this place would implement suggestion so Java coffee could become The Place in the area! Peace & Love to everybody.

I’ve been going here weekly for the past several months since our knitting group has been meeting there. There is plenty of seating, including a comfortable couch in front of the fireplace. I always bring my baby, so I appreciate that there is plenty of room for my stroller if I need it. The atmosphere varies from bustling with customers one week to being nearly empty the next, there’s really no predicting it. I’ve enjoyed their house made chai, which is always excellent. With the warm weather lately, I keep going back to the peach & banana smoothie. I’ve never been disappointed. Most of the staff seems friendly and welcoming, but I’ve noticed some turnover recently.

This place is a joke. I’ve gone twice, about 6 weeks apart, to get a date & banana shake and both times they said they were out of dates. This time i said«y’all said that last time» and got a totally rude response and got my change and shake practically thrown at me from across the counter. The staff is in need of a serious attitude adjustment. Oh and they use Skippy peanut butter. Really?! They can’t put better quality ingredients into their products? Lame I won’t be returning

This is a nice quiet spot to get some work done during the week. The lattes are strong and hot, both of which I love, and the baristas are friendly. A beautiful stone fireplace makes this coffee hole’s vibe the right kind of mellow. Love it.
