Corner location great on Lighthouse & 17^th, convenient to downtown PG & Hotel district. Locals recommend store.
Great selection of Craft Beers, Local Monterey & Carmel Valley Wines, Scotch, Vodka, Tequila, Burbon — wow! Awesome selection!
Impressed w local wine selection, Morgan, Silvestri, De Tierra, Ventana, to name a few.
Lots of walkers downtown entering business, dog friendly, cigarette & cigar selection!

Not very friendly or knowledgeable concerning their product. I asked about a certain «type» wine and the clerk tried to convince me that another product was the «same» as what I had asked about. One was a wine, the other was not.
Most times we drop in for something, the young female clerk is too busy with her cell phone to care about serving a customer.

Its now Lopez Liquor. Seems to have improved a bit. they have a decent selection of liquor store fare. clerks seem nice. i’ll go back when i’m in the neighborhood and need to quench my thirst.
I’ve been back many times. the service is always polite. the vita waters & red bulls are cold enough. don’t think I’ve ever seen a line longer than 3 customers.
good place to go as far as convenient stores go

Who is the EVIL TWIN?
I feel bad for the «nice» twin sister that works there. The other one is SO RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL I’ll NEVER go back there again!
I used to frequent that store 3 – 4 times a week. I can’t stand a person who will not only NOT look you in the eye, won’t even tell you your total! You have to read it off the register!
I’d rather be inconvienienced than shop at the «convienience» store!

If I had written this review months ago, I would have given one star. This is when it was Ron’s Liquors. I was out running and needed to buy a bottle of water. I was short five cents and the douchebag behind the counter refused to sell me one. I was short FIVE CENTS!!!
I have been in since it became Lopez Liquors — first they waived the minimum charge and let me buy what I wanted since it came close enough.
The guys that work there now are always super nice and they always card me which puts a big smile on my 33 year old face.

I’m writing here about the location formerly at Ron’s Liquors that is now Lopez Liquors. (They do not appear to have a business page yet.)
We stop in here regularly, but last night we were only purchasing a couple of drinks, and when the clerk said there was a minimum charge, we simply replied «Sir, you are not allowed to require a minimum charge as it violates your contract.» (This is according to MasterCard contract policy stores agree to.)
He replied, «I know, but I get charged.»
I was surprised by his admittal of knowing the policy, but deliberately going against it. We walked out without purchasing anything, so instead of losing a few cents on the transaction and keeping regular customers, he lost the entire purchase.
This does not amount to good business by denying legal forms of payment that he has chosen to accept, and entered into a contract with, and exhibits the failure to understand profit margin gain/​loss. Policies like this will likely stand in the way of small businesses surviving and thriving in Pacific Grove. It’s backwards, and lacks integrity to sign a contract with another business but not intend to abide by it.
Businesses, especially small businesses, must understand in these times that they must embrace modern technologies, adjust their prices if necessary to keep their profit, and understand that they will not make a profit in every transaction, but like any investment, it’s an up and down market (example, grocery stores often offer coupons to get you into the store, take a loss, but realize you’ll purchase other items).

Isn’t the profit and money being made by this shop contributing to the lawyer fees that the owner has accumulated by repeatedly raping women?

I’ve visited this establishment a couple of times now — typically when the fridge is devoid of beer and I’m on my way home from the Asilomar direction.
It’s becoming harder to find the local English Ales Brewery’s IPA in the various local beer shops — so it’s been good to find this location has had it both times I’ve ever been here.
Plus they have Strongbow.
Plus they have a good selection of junk food.
Good beer, good cider and a good selection of junk food — what more could you want in a liquor store? — and their prices are competitive too.

great little hole in the wall liquor store, i won $ 50 here off a scratcher, nice people at counter, decent prices and other little odds and ends as well for sale, needs to be modernized a bit and parking can be treacherous
