The guy there is very very bitter, place is over priced. He was rude when I made a purchase.

This place is a real blast from the past with 60s/70s memorabilia all over. We we walked in Jimmy Hendrix was blasting and there was no one to help us. Kinda like Jimmy but in a kids ice-cream shop. Looking behind the counters this place was a real mess and I was hoping we were not going to get sick. A few minutes later a person comes out of the back signing along with the Jimmy and states she never heard the bell. Hmm, a little California grass perhaps? Anyway we didn’t get sick and gave it 3 stars overall(2 cleanness and 4 for Jimmy). Definitely worth a look!

Buying icecream here is highway robbery. Extremely high prices for less than mediocre ice cream. On top of that customer service was unsatisfactory.

Don’t know if the ice cream is any good or not because we left before we even ordered. While we were waiting, the man behind the counter(owner?) was speaking with the customers in front of us. He said«Muhammad Ali was the only true Muslim. All the others are filthy.» I called to my husband and said, «we’re leaving.»

A quaint shop. Ice cream is good and the place can be popular. When we arrived there was a line. By the time we left there was a line out the door. The owners personality came out nicely: Don’t touch the lollipops; don’t just hang around and look unless you buy something. The people in front of us asked for a sample which they couldn’t get because the store was«busy.» It kind of makes me wonder why he would want to be in a retail business. The place is cash only. This place would be so much better if outgoing teenagers were running the place allowing the owner to have time perfecting the product and presentation. The ice cream touched are taste buds nicely. The product was good and this is a nice destination for just ice cream.

This place is fun, decorative. I walked into Cuba/south Florida. Loved the music that made you want to dance. Delicious ice cream and extra toppings for your treat. Only cash or check.

The place is very cool, and a must for Beatles fans, but the owner needs to take a course in customer relations. Not friendly at all. The ice cream was okay, but very expensive. All you need is love… but you won’t get it here.

If I could give a lower rating I would. I took my family to this store for ice crème. We were met by an extremely rude employee or owner, not sure who he was. When asked for a sample of 3 unique flavors, I was given 2 flavors on one stick. Firstly, I was not told that both flavors were on the single stick until I was done tasting. Secondly, I asked for the 3rd tasting, and was rudely told no. Thirdly, when I was asked which flavor I wanted, I said it was hard to tell the difference when both flavors of ice crème were given to me on one stick without the guy telling me that was the case(otherwise, I would have tasted them individually). I was essentially told tough-luck, «figure out the flavors in your mouth and let me know when you are ready.» Who does that? Yeah, we walked out and will never go back again.

Small town service. The way it’s suppose to be. Anyone that’s a hater of the décor is a jerk. This place is a tribute to my moms generation and no o w should talk back about style. Little pricey but it’s PG. refreshing to see something real in a stuffy high class town

I’ll never return to this place. Poor poor service. Horrible attitude from the owner. I’m surprised their ice cream vendor let this guy keep his franchise. This is the same place where the owner kicked out a military family because the owner didn’t agree with the war in Iraq. Regardless of your current or past war views hearing this(it was in the Herald and the news etc) it further reinforced my experience.

The ice cream had a taste like it’s been in the freezer too long. But if I had to describe the place, it was cluttered with Beatles memorabilia. Felt like I was in Santa Cruz, than Pacific grove.

When my friend and I first walked in there was no one in the front of the shop. We were looking at the flavors for a couple minutes when the guy finally came out, he greeted us and as I looked up at him from the ice cream he touched the sign on the counter which read«Cash or check only, no cards.» I’m assuming it was an unconscious gesture for him but it was awkward for me as a customer who just walked in and was trying to pick a flavor. And believe me we already noticed the bigger sign with the same message in the front of the store. I ordered the blueberry cheesecake which was good, but nothing special. For the size of the tiny cup of ice cream, I felt it was a bit overpriced. And I was a bit off put by the fact that the guy scooped the ice cream in the cup then weighed it, adjusted the scoop slightly, then weighed it again. Is it necessary to serve an exact amount? The ice cream and service are mediocre at best. The only unique thing about the shop is the shop itself. It is covered from wall to wall in retro memorabilia: albums, books, posters, nick nacks, chochkies, etc. You name it it’s probably there. It’s interesting but also a bit overwhelming and distracting at the same time.

Digging all the Beatles and 60’s pop memorabilia! The ice cream is yummy too! Lots of flavors. They sport a sweet tune system — wax, only, of course. Bring cash or check. No plastic accepted.

I was born and raised in PG and I always want to try and support local businesses but when my wife went in to buy ice cream for ourselves and our daughter she was greeted by a man behind the counter who I’m assuming was the owner, and the experience was disappointing to say the least. He was rude and appeared irritated that we, along with another couple, were confused by the fact that the labels did not match up with the ice cream that he had. I didn’t appreciate the fact that he told us to «go to a big chain ice cream place if you want more organization». It was at that time that I decided to take my business elsewhere. This is definitely not the same Rocky Coast ice cream parlor that I grew up going to. Very sad. I probably won’t be coming back there anytime soon.

This place is pretty cool — definitely awesome with all the Beatles memorabilia everywhere, very sixties. Loved the vibe! My fiancé and I had a very pleasant conversation with the owner. He was very friendly and authentic. We did witness a very upset customer because her ice cream started melting. Dear god. Call the authorities! Her poor husband looked so mortified that she stormed in and yelled at the owner, stating that he needs to take it back and re-scoop them. I’ve never seen someone get so asinine over ice cream before. The owner took it in stride and didn’t say a word about the customer’s behavior. Props to him! I think she takes the ‘customer is always right’ too far. People, no matter if you’re the customer, server, owner, all deserve a level of respect.

Dropped in for some ice cream. Got the pumpkin pie because I was in the mood for it. They were done scooping my ice cream and put it in the waffle cone. I’m assuming it was the owner, stopped next to the server and whispered something. After, I saw the server taking some ice cream off my cone. I understand that the scoop may be too much, but tell the server after the fact or for next time. Not in front of the customer and have me watch them try to take a spoon or two off the cone.

By far the trippiest place I’ve been to in a long time. There was so much Beatles ephemera and old books and randomness to look at, I could barely think about ice cream. It was so cluttered and loud that I can’t imagine how the girl behind the counter could have worked there for three years… seriously. The peanut butter chocolate ice cream was solid though. Huge chunks of peanut butter and the chocolate wasn’t too overwhelming. The ice cream was spendy, $ 4.50 for a scoop in a cone. Ouch! My main issue was with the execution of their waffle cones. Apparently I had the new guy make mine. It had a ½″ hole at the bottom so I got ice cream all over my shirt and pants. I highly recommend that you fold over the paper warping your cone and grab an extra napkin. You will thank me later.
