Second place I stopped to eat when I moved to town, and was blown away. I’m starting to think I’ll never actually try their pizza I’ve been so enamored with their incredible sandwiches. I grew up on the Mississippi gulf coast and was worried about finding a place with remotely okay French bread, after eating here I certainly don’t think this will be an issue.

This pizza is as if I paid a Home Depot $ 20 dollars for cardboard, put toppings on it, and baked it.

The ham and cheese is my go-to after a test or studying all day. To be honest, I’ve never seen anyone get the pizza, but if they’re as good as the ham and cheese, then it’s good. The sandwiches are where it’s at. Go with one of them and you’re golden. I’m not kidding, these things are amazing, and they’re good as leftovers the next day too.

I tend to be quite hard on restaurants, but Pizza Den is a staple for me. My favorite is their pasta. I go for spaghetti and lasagna with side salads. I’ve had the pizza and a few tastes of their sandwiches. I have yet to find a problem with taste. I thought the pizza was great. Crispy thin crust and awesome tasting toppings. I love their meat sauce for the pasta. The salad is obviously store bought products but the homemade bleu cheese dressing makes it worth it. I have tasted the stromboli, turkey, ham and roast beef sandwiches. I only found a problem with the turkey and that was that the gravy was way too salty. Couldn’t finish it. Overall, this place is great. The best thing about PD is that they deliver. They have been to every place I’ve lived in Oxford more times than me.

This may have been the worst pizza we have ever had. It was inefible, so we ended up ordering a pizza from elsewhere. Can’t speak for anything else on the menu aside for the salad, which entailed half lettuce, and half bacon bits, ham, and cheese. Not so great either.

I’d rather have had a frozen pizza or even pizza rolls. I have had better pizza in a school cafeteria. I’m not sure what the love affair is with this place. They need to change the name and call it the«Sandwich Den», if the sandwiches are good. NASTY. BAAAAD. I should have gone and had asian food. DONOTORDERPIZZAINOXFORD.

I have been going to Pizza Den since 1986. I have a Stromboli the first time I went and have never deviated from course in the nearly 30 years that I have been eating them. Quite possibly the best sammich in the world. I make this statement with utter confidence. Simple goodness. Maybe one day I will try the pizza…

This place has awesome sandwiches and pasta!!! They have one of the best roast beef po boys I’ve ever had anywhere and I love the stromboli, and the turkey too. The pastas always hit the spot and the spaghetti, the ravioli, and the lasagna just make me happy in my belly! This is also one of the few places outside of New Orleans that I’ve ever seen that you can get a pretty authentic tasting muffuletta and they ship all their bread in direct from NOLA(and they use good olive salad) so that certainly works in their favor. I’m really sad they moved from their original location and the new location is a real pain to get to as it is waaaay too far from the square now :( I’ve brought many of my friends from New Orleans and they also agree that these are some amazing po boys!!! I crave this food all the time and wish we had one in New Orleans!

Not bad, but pretty standard food. I think a lot of the appeal may be nostalgia and the local atmosphere. Not being from the area, I didn’t get that. You dip your own ice out of the machine, and the chips come right from a walmart bag.

One of the worst dining experiences ever. I took a new manager and her husband there to eat on a weekday for lunch. They were moving into town for the job and wanted to taste some local favor. Not only was the ice machine was not working, but the whole place had not been cleaned or bussed. The food itself was mediocre at best. The sauce tasted more like Hunt’t ketchup.

Pizza Den holds a special place in my heart. By far and away THE best roast beef & gravy po-boy on earth. I’ll fight anyone that begs to differ. The stromboli, submarine, and turkey po-boys are awesome too — in that order. I have a total crush on the lady that works there. Pizza Bob is greatly missed. RIP. and whoever the sonofabitch is that stole the picture of Dean and Pizza Bob can burn in hell.

Pizza Den is an Oxford institution which is now run by the children of the originator. I don’t get the pizzas myself, though; I am a fan of the hot roast beef sandwich and the stromboli. Get half and half; it’s heaven. They make the sandwiches on real French bread with good quality meats and cheeses, and where applicable excellent gravy, and then bake them in the pizza oven! They are salty and delectable and served with Lay’s potato chips. They also have a good muffaletta and a good roast turkey with gravy. One of my mother’s favorite features and mine too is their ice – it’s the flaked kind. It’s not fast, but it is GREAT.
