Chipotle Mexican Grill

During the semester, it’s impossible to get dinner here because there are always lines out the door. I don’t know what they can realistically do about this, but they ought to do something.

This is my favorite restaurant in Oxford and I am surprised I haven’t written a review yet! There isn’t a whole lot to say, except that the food is good. It does get pretty crowded, so you are better off ordering online through the Chipotle app so that you don’t have to stand in line; just be aware that you need to do so several hours in advance. If I only had one gripe it would simply be that I can’t get enough of this place! I get the Sofritas burrito bowl with veggies, all of the salsas, guacamole (which is extra), black beans, and brown rice. There is plenty to eat here for vegans and vegetarians if they want to do so! The only health problems I’ve had from this place is acid reflux and that can’t be helped! Chipotle gets a bad rap from the media and people need to give them more of a chance since not all Chipotle restaurants are built equally.

I always enjoy the food I get here, but like another review said the experience is hit or miss. If you’re lucky enough to walk in with a short line, thank the lord. If the line is to the door like it is about half the time, don’t expect to be out for about 20 minutes.
From going there regularly I’ve gotten to know some of the line staff and they’ve been really friendly with me. The thing is though sometimes they’re understaffed on the front line considering the length of the line at times.

I am visiting Oxford. I ran into this Chipotle to grab a quick dinner. I have moved 10 feet in 30 minutes. Lot’s of employees moving very slow. Usually long lines move, not here. You get one star oxford Chipotle for moving like molasses.

I went to chipotle at about 11:15 and the line wasn’t that long. The cheese was almost empty and the guacamole was brown. The food was clearly from the night before. And while I was paying the cashier she offered another employee a bite of her doughnut. It was an unpleasant experience at Chipotle.

I was asked to rate this chipotle online tonight by the cashier. Well, here goes. I am sick of getting undercooked rice (literally crunchy) and lopsided (ingredients not distributed correctly) burritos from here. Also no sense of urgency in a rush and workers who goof off instead of fulfilling orders. Tables messy, soda fountains often broken, missing utensils. All why I have stopped coming weekly to this location.

I’ve been to this location many times and it’s always a hit or miss. Never consistent.
First MAJOR miss was when I ordered lunch for students I supervise for our retreat. The order had about 30 different orders. I faxed the order and called and confirmed 2 days before I was going to pick up the order. The day I pick it up the manager says he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. After I assure him that I confirmed 2 days prior he goes back to the office and finds my order. The thing is they had to make all 30 orders and they had a line to the door.
I sat in there for another 30 or so minutes and had to be adamant that it was unacceptable and he finally have me a 40% discount.
I’m not impressed by the new manager and if I didn’t LOVE chipotle I wouldn’t go.
A few positives

Well, this review is going to be under a different context from most other reviews for one reason: we came here during the summer when there is hardly any student around.
Inside, there’s ample seating. Employees work quickly and efficiently behind the counter. The lone downside is that on our visit, this location still didn’t have any carnitas. Other than that, I’d come back a couple more times before the Fall semester starts. By then, my four star review would probably drop down to two stars.

Inconsistent quality, small portion size, 40-​minute wait times, staff has no sense of urgency during a rush. Online orders almost never ready on time, and then you have to wait 10+ minutes in a line to get them. Staff also does not follow instructions fully when processing an online order (e.g., ask for light sour cream and burrito is covered in it). I once placed an online order two hours in advance, only to find when I got to the store that they were out of three of the seven ingredients for my burrito when I came to pick it up. Tables are often dirty, and they tend to run out of simple things like tortillas and even rice. The only reason people eat here is that it’s the only Chipotle in a 20-​mile radius.

Great as long as you order ahead of time. Go online, it’s super-​easy.

Food is great but there is really no winning at this Chipotle. Lines for BOTH regular orders AND online orders are consistantly out the door. A second register needs to be added to make this a truly functional eatery. Leaving frustrated is almost guaranteed.

While I like Chipotle I can’t stand this location. There is never any sense or urgency and no attention to detail. On several occasions I’ve found bones in my chicken bowl and the chicken undercooked. If you’re looking for a heaping bowl or a burrito that’s busting at the seems don’t bother stopping here because the proportions are on the less then generous side.

This was the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. The line was not very long, yet it took about half an hour to get through. I have been in lines twice that long with half the wait. Once I finally got close enough to order, I realized WHY the line was taking so long. After every customer, the lady make the burritos would turn around and talk to her coworkers! And in between each order, they made burritos of online orders or something, whatever was printed out on the receipts they were reading. After my bowl was made, I was told to wait before I could pay because the cashier was trying to handle a situation with a lady who wanted catering. It wasn’t the cashier’s fault that I happened to be the next person in line, but they should have had someone else take care of this lady. When I got around to eating my food, the chicken was extremely salty and crunchy. And there was WAY too much cheese. I will never return to this Chipotle again.

This chipotle is hit or miss. Sometimes you’ll go in and it will be great food but you know it’s going to be the slowest wait ever at any chipotle. Sometimes the rice is just way too moist and over cooked. The service can be horrible at times too. I order online a lot and every time I ask for sour cream on the side and NEVER once has it come on the side. It has ALWAYS come on the burrito bowl. So that as well is disappointing.
So sometimes I would give it 3 or 4 stars because it taste really really good and they follow directions. But overall it’s the worst chipotle I’ve ever been to and I only go when I REALLY want chipotle and I’m willing to risk it being only ok.

Chipotle does a fine job with there formula. The food was as good as I’ve had at any chipotle. You can tell be the stars I really like it. This place rocked the line. The 3 person crew was really moving the line. 20 people in front of me and they blew through pretty quick. The quality was exceptional as always. I love the steak burritos and a side of guacamole with chips.

Out of lettuce, out of rice (both kinds), out of steak, out of green salsa, out of ice… are you friggin kidding me? Who is running this place!

Not the best Chipotle I’ve been to, but they get the job done. They are really stingy about how much they put in your burrito.

I don’t know about earlier in the day, but I’d avoid going here for dinner any day of the week or you’ll leave with half the food you paid for. The line is out the door and the workers try to juggle two orders at one time instead of focusing on one customer at a time, often messing up an order or two by trying to «guess» what you might want before they ask you. If you ask for extra anything, you’re lucky to get even a half scoop more before they push your food further down the line. Don’t bother ordering online or faxing in an order, either, because often times it won’t be ready for you when you get there. The drive to another Chipotle for dinner is definitely worth it.

This is a good Chipotle location. The service is quick, ingredients fresh and yummy and the food somehow tastes even better leftover. It’d be nice if they had an alcohol permit for the patio too and not just the inside because of the great location.
