The tacos that I had last week were pretty good. But today I ordered the chicken on a skewer with rice and it was horrible. It tasted like frozen chicken they put in the microwave for a minute. Very rubbery and tasteless. Sorry, this is my first bad review for anyone… but it was that bad.

The food was tasty but I hate standing in line and ordering and then sitting. It was fairly expensive I thought for fast food. But tasty.

I’m happy Boneheads came to Oxford because there isn’t really a place to get a fresh piece of salmon for cheap here. Their grilled salmon is my favorite thing on the menu, it has so much flavor and is never dried out. I love their mushroom topping and the sauce that comes with the salmon. I like the way I feel after eating the salmon because their nutrition is online so I know exactly how many calories I’ve consumed. Their steamed broccoli is also surprisingly flavorful and delicious. Every time I go in there, it’s pretty empty, which I think should change because the food is pretty good. From their nutrition online, they do seem to have some less healthy options as well, but the grilled fish items excellent choices for dieters. Also, as a last thought, it is ALWAYS clean in there. Like REALLY clean.

This place has potential but appears to be operated by novices. Nice novices, but seemingly with no prior restaurant experience. If they do have a background in food prep, it doesn’t show. Another reviewer accurately described the menu, although the people in my party found it rather confusingly laid out — it would be a rare diner who could quickly apprehend all the various offerings and combinations of sauces while standing in line to order. I got the taco combination that comes with two ordinarily-sized soft tacos(mine were shrimp and tilapia) and one side dish. To paraphrase the knight guarding the holy grail in the Indiana Jones movie, I «chose poorly.» My tacos arrived barely above room temperature and sparsely filled. To top it off, the flour taco shells were obviously pulled out of a bag and not prepped at all — no grill marks, no attempt to warm them whatsoever. Which is strange, since most or all of the«proteins»(somebody’s been watching too much Food Network) can be grilled. So the grill’s there, but they just didn’t think to use it. On the positive side, their variety of fresh grilled seafood is a nice option in Oxford. Maybe the dishes are variable, as my companions’ looked, and reportedly tasted, decent. Not great, not special, but at least were reasonably portioned and appropriately prepared. This was my first visit and likely won’t be my last, but I’ll wait a couple of months before trying again. There are, thankfully, many good restaurants(including several at this price point) in town, so the owners will need to step up their game to be competitive.

I really enjoyed my meal. The house special shrimp was amazing and satisfying, Service was quick and polite. Jonathan really went out of his way to make sure I enjoyed everything and gave me his recommendation on the menu. This is going to be a hit with everyone in Oxford and I’ll be back again.

Fast casual restaurant that offers quick, healthy, grilled seafood and chicken options. I visited this location for the first time today, and my overall impression was that it was a well-staffed restaurant with a clean, functional, and attractive interior. We placed our orders with the friendly cashier, picked up drinks at the Coke Freestyle machine, and waited about five minutes for our food to come out to our table. The menu has so much variety that I picked out a fish entrée but I think next time I will try the skewers, the tacos, or the half-chicken. There were different proteins to choose from, including chicken, crab, shrimp, tilapia, ahi tuna, mahi mahi, rainbow trout, amberjack, and a few others. The restaurant has a similar formula to Bonefish Grill, if you’ve ever been there, as you have the option of several sauce preparations for the fish. On my visit, I opted for the Piri Piri Mushroom sauce preparation for the the Amberjack grilled fish entrée. It comes with rice and your choice of side – and there were about a dozen sides to choose from. I selected two premium sides, steamed broccoli and moroccan rice. I think next time I will try the grilled corn on the cob and the standard spiced rice. I am also interested in the appetizers and the fish and chips. At the end of the day the prices at Boneheads are higher than you would spend getting lunch at Firehouse Subs or Panera, however, I still think that $ 10 is an excellent value for fresh grilled seafood to order. I will certainly come back to try more things on the menu and I will update my review if I find some stuff I really love.
