Visited this Owings Mills Gamestop store because the downtown Canton location said they had Used Wii Consoles in stock. The staff was knowledgeable about the consoles and remote controllers — they helped with purchase of a pre-owned controller and numchuck as well as assisted with a discounted purchase by joining their club. I docked them a star because it’s obvious they don’t test out their pre-used accessories packaged for resale since upon opening at home, the battery compartment had two corroded battery and no wrist strap. I docked them another star since when I called to ask about exchanging it with a receipt for another, I was given many excuses why they wouldn’t. Another Game Stop store(Canton) gladly exchanged the defective units.

Meh, I’m not that really into video games but the boy wanted to stop here so I obliged. It was clean and not overly crowded. The staff was friendly enough, but then again I wasn’t expecting 5-star customer service at Gamestop. I did end up buying a game(all the old sonic the hedgehog games on one disc… yeah I like video games from my childhood…). When I got home and I opened the game, I realized they had given me the wrong one. I went back the next day and I was able to exchange it, but it was a pain in the butt because this Gamestop location is not close to my house. I had to knock them down a star because of that. I’ll probably end up at this location in the future, but from now on I’ll double check to make sure the correct game is in the case before I leave.

Gamestop is what it is… of course there isn’t too much explaining to do for the game addicted guys. So, if the employees aren’t too busy they’ll give you a friendly welcome when you come through the door and offer to assist you. Looking around the walls there stocked with games from the latest game systems such as the PlayStation 2&3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, a new update to the PSP the PSVita(this thingie hasn’t been released yet). If you are lucky some Gamestops may have games from older systems like the gameboy and such, but not this location because those games aren’t in demand in this new age of gaming. The staff is knowledgeable about most games that you may ask them about and if they don’t you’ll take a quick stroll to the computer where they’ll give you any info. you need. Gamestop also informs customers of new games that are coming out and you can pre-order a game that hasn’t been released yet. Pre-ordering just ensures that when the game comes out on the market that you will have a copy set aside just for you. Go gamers…
