The Highlands North And South

Melonie took care of many of the maintenance requests and personally made sure they were remedied. That is definitely a positive. But, have to leave a 3 star review, because tonight a neighbor’s patio furniture was robbed by two guys who walked into the complex somehow and took off running when said neighbor walked out (the doors for the walking path never seem to be locked even though the car gates are closed). Can’t blame Highlands for the above situation in its entirety b/​c when there is a will there is a way but the experience doesn’t reflect well on the neighborhood (stealing cheap patio furniture is pretty telling). Thank god I have a German Shepherd and that my security sensors are now working!:)

I’ve just moved in a few weeks ago but so far, I have to say I am super happy at the Highlands. The complex is clean, quiet, well maintained and altogether nice. We rent a 1 bedroom apartment and it’s a good size with a good amount of storage space. The units all have full size washers & dryers, dishwashers, built-​in microwaves, and all the other appliances you’d expect.
Having been there for a little while now, I am extremely impressed with how quiet it is. I haven’t heard any of my neighbors at all. This place must be rather well insulated! The finishes, carpet, kitchens, everything seem to be rather recently renovated and are all up to date (other than a couple light fixtures that are a little on the blah side but not bad really). Our 1 bedroom has a nice sized balcony and the 2 bedrooms have even more outdoor space. The only downside with the balcony is that we can’t grill, but what are you gonna do?
The complex is large with lots of buildings but they are grouped in smaller pods with each area having their own parking. All apartments come with a covered parking spot and you can also rent a garage. There are dog bag dispensers and trash bins around the complex, very conveniently placed for people, so cleaning up after your dog is no problem (though a few people could certainly do a better job of it…). The staff at the main office have been very nice and helpful.
All in all, this place is a really nice complex if you are looking for a place to live. It’s about a 15 minute commute to downtown in the mornings, so not too bad. Easy to get anywhere north or south with 35 and 69 south right there. Downtown OP is just minutes away…
