Sara does a great job! I give her some fairly challenging hair color combos and she nails it every time, plus she actually listens to what I want!

I really like the atmosphere of this salon. It feels a little trendy without being over the top, and the stylists all seem very nice. I am taking off a star because my personal experience with the stylist I had wasn’t the best. It was okay, my hair looks pretty good, I just think she didn’t have a great eye for shape and missed some things that a really great stylist wouldn’t have. I would still count it as a four star experience even with that, but my bill was about $ 20 more than I expected. I assumed I remembered their pricing wrong, but nope. Per their website I should have been charged a little under $ 110 for the services I received before tax and tip, but my bill was more with no explanation. I shouldn’t have to go be an investigator to figure out why I was charged more than the listed prices. The salon itself is great, and I would definitely go back, but will choose a different stylist in the future and ask them to let me know if they’re doing anything that will add extra charges onto my total bill. 20 bucks isn’t a huge deal, but I shouldn’t have to wonder what’s being added on to my bill without being consulted.

Marilyn is AMAZING!!! I found her over a year ago and have loved, loved, loved her ever since! If you are looking for someone who listens, helps with making a decision (I never know what I really want haha) and just plain ROCKS Marilyn is your girl. Check her out on Facebook Hair by Marilyn.

Marilyn has been performing hair wizardry on my head for 6 years now. She is a sorcerer. I’ve never seen her mess up a head in 6 years. She LISTENS to her clients. She doesn’t want to «change your mind» or do anything crazy you’re not ready for. She will make you look as good as you ever have, every time. So basically, every time you go to see her, you get more attractive. I don’t understand the math of how that works, but that’s just how it is. Like I said, magic. My whole family goes to Marilyn, and I think we’re starting to Benjamin Button because of it.

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. The salon is neither pretentious nor divey, but it’s not your grandmother’s salon, either.
How many other on-​the-​upscale side of salons do you see the owner of the business sweeping up hair for his stylists, in between his own appointments? His wife/​co-​owner is greeting you and making you feel at home at the front desk.
Josie Boyd did a wonderful job with my hair, explaining to me what she was doing, and if I wanted to go a different direction in the near future, how to achieve that. The color and cut are great, and the price was right. She has a great special on cut/​color or highlights until Valentine’s Day for only $ 80, and I walked out looking great.
The hairdressers give their customers their full attention; you never feel like you’re an inconvenience (which is amazing that some salons make you feel that way!!!); you’re a treasured guest. Products are offered but not aggressively pushed on you.
FYI: Tips are not accepted on credit cards; bring cash or a check. :)

I’ve been here twice for massages. The first one I came in with a groupon and the second one I came in after I was able to book it for the same price as I paid for the groupon. It’s part of the salon so be ready for it. You have the option of a 60 or 90 minute massage and I’ve done the 60 min both times.
The woman who does the massages is pretty good. I was skeptical because there were no reviews for the massage therapists on Unilocal and I’ve had issues in the past with other places. It’s easy to call in to get an appointment and they have a good amount of availability. I’ve come out feeling pretty good after the massages and I’ve needed a lot of work done.
My only complaints are this
1. even though there’s soothing music on, you can still hear what’s going on in the salon at times.
2. when my neck was being worked on, she was going too hard. It’ was not the most relaxing part of the massage by any means!
3. no work done on the head/​face at all. Every other massage I’ve had has at some head/​face work to it
Other than that, a good place to go!

Jennifer and Priscilla have both cut my hair and done phenomenal jobs, although I have been going to Priscilla more because she just seems to really nail the kind of haircut I want every time. Jennifer is amazing and spends as much time as you could need or want to make sure she gets things right. I get my eyebrows waxed there as well, by Allison (who is a complete hoot and always does a bang-​up job). I found the place because it’s literally a block from my house, but I will keep going there after I move farther away this Summer.
They are EXTREMELY friendly and not snobby at all if I go in there not looking my best.

Rostik Salon offers great service with lots of personality and style. Thanks to Lindsay, I always leave feeling and looking fabulous. They have reasonable prices (esp. for OP) but only take tips in cash so bring some extra moo-​lah with you! I definitely recommend Rostik if you haven’t tried them. They recently added spa services & I can’t wait to get a facial!
