The one good thing about this place is the coffee. Latte Land has a great mix of coffee drinks. I’m a big fan of their locations on the Plaza, but this one seems to be missing the awesomeness of other locations. Granted, this is Leawood, not a hipster paradise but still… The most striking features is how dirty the place is. Though the building is relatively new, it’s in serious need of cleaning inside. A paint job, some updated colors and decent wall art. I love coffee houses with character and this place is in that uncomfortable valley between charming and just downright… bleech. The seating is cold with plastic and metal instead of comfy chairs. The two best chairs in the place are in the«kids» section so you can curl up to a good book and a hot latte while children throw temper tantrums. Speaking of children with temper tantrums, the baristas have that typical snobbery one would expect at a artisan coffee shop. However, that doesn’t quite work at here because these baristas are writing attitude checks they can’t cash. More than once my handcrafted beverage suffered an untimely death due to the drink not being called as done or I simply didn’t hear. Is it really that hard to call out more than once when you see a lonely drink waiting for it’s owner? Wi-Fi tends to be as unreliable as the service This is a coffee shop without a soul(but good coffee!) Next time, dare I say, Starbucks?

I love coffee. In fact, I’m not so sure I can live a day without it! Not only that, but I love trying new(for me) coffee places! So, when I came across Latteland, I said, «I need to try this place!». We walked in to this coffee shop and it was nice and clean and the people who worked there were super friendly! I always order sugar free drinks, so I asked what kind of drinks they make in sugar free(I think the non sugar free drinks are too sweet sometimes :)). They only make sugar free vanilla :(Anyways, of course I ordered one. To me, it tasted like Starbucks, so if you’re a Starbucks fan, you may like this place. Since I have only had one drink from here, I can’t really say much about the other drinks. I would come back to this coffee shop, if I had to. It’s not too bad, but nothing like my all time favorite, Coffee Bean!

The MBA class I teach has one Saturday class per semester and I wanted to make sure they had some good eats so I stopped at Kolache Factory. After grabbing about 60 kolaches I walked over to grab a «box of joe» which as you know is a porta-coffee with like 10 cups worth in it. When I walked in I knew something was wrong. There was only one guy in there and he was running around, trying to put some things together. He was only waiting on one person in front of me and I couldn’t help but overhear his apologetic, «I’m sorry, I’m the only one here… no one from my crew showed up this morning.» I felt bad for the guy, but I still needed my coffee. I waited patiently and while waiting one of his high-school(and truant) crew showed up and started helping. I wasn’t going to be able to stop at the store now to grab some juice and milk so I asked if I could buy a gallon of milk from him. He said sure and charged me $ 4. 15 minutes after walking in I walked out with a box of joe, a gallon of milk, an apology for my wait, and a coupon for 2 drinks the next time I came in. That’s how you make the best of a bad situation. Excellent job.

Drive thru is one of the main reasons I frequent this south OP coffee connection. Staff are friendly(although today they were focused on each other more than the guests but it is what it is). Coffee flavor is good to very good and the Wedding Cake cookies that I discovered while visiting the(West) Plaza location in the late 90s are still a sugary delight! Lots of space and a decent amount of tables/couches w/enough wall outlets for the mobile warrior! Free wi-fi is good with decent bandwidth(yes I judge that too). I gave them a 2-star rating for the biz but bumped it up to a 3-star rating for the addition of the drive thru(in South OP it’s a must). FYI: I would rate both Plaza locations and the State Line version higher!

Good coffee, good atmosphere, my only very small thing I would change is that the inside look just a little blank very modern style. Overall great! Love the Carmella

Here’s the deal — go on Tuesday and get a free extra shot or two in your latte. I like this place for one reason, the drive thru. I can pick up a quick latte on my way from Belton to my job in Lenexa. It is a quick on and off 135th street. I have not tried their brewed coffee. Their lattes all have two shots. On days other that Tuesday you have to pay for extra shots. On Tuesdays they are free. I’ve gone inside a few times to order. The food selection is not huge and nothing has inspired me try the food offerings. They advertise free Wi-fi and I occasionally see some folks sitting in the store when I have gone it, but it is not inviting. The décor is somewhat cold and contrived to be trendy. The thing I do like about going in to get my latte is that I get to pick up free reading material. There is a nice display of alternative health tabloids.

My favorite coffee house closed awhile back, and I’ve had a great big sucking hole in my life since then. Latteland does an adequate job of offering me some amount of fix. I always go for the French Press. Delicious. Their menu is sooper pricey though. Their food is good, but I’d rather save a buck or two and go to Pantera(Bread Bread). One saving grace is that Latteland stays away from pidgeon Italian and doesn’t try to be something it isn’t. What it is exactly, is a mini-starbucks with a little more character. I mean a little. If you want some coffee and are driving by, swing on through and make up your own mind. Just remember this mixed review and the fact that I didn’t give it 4 or 5 stars.

This Latteland is basically an express starbucks. the coffee is practically the same price but is slightly lower quality. The only part of the staff with personality working behind the counter was a tall girl being extremely flirty while I was with my girlfriend. pretty dirty in parts of the shop. Such as the floors which need sweeping and the big chairs need cleaning. So let me proceed by listing the pros and cons. Pros: Free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, nice lighting, outside seating and Drive-thru Cons: overpriced, slightly dirty environment, lack of personality, volume of obnoxious music, mediocre quality of coffee. I recommend going to Scooter’s Coffee. Its better priced and way better coffee. I might try the other Latteland locations. They seem to be better rated than this particular location.

I contemplated not even writing a review about Latteland because it’s not worth mentioning. Latteland is a pathetic attempt of a sophisticated Starbucks; a knock off of an already distasteful chain of coffee. The customer service was horrible. The guy behind the counter acted completely bored and uninterested of our questions and counted his tip money in front of us while we ordered. Seeing absolutely nothing creative or unique on the menu, I ordered a blended drink named«Polar Express»(I think…) which was a mix of chocolate, espresso, and vanilla frozen yogurt. When our drinks were ready, they did not call out our name nor did they even call out our drinks name. They simply laid the drinks on the counter and walked away. Not only was my drink EXPENSIVE but it was nasty, too. Also, the blended drinks only came in 1 size; therefore, because I wanted something cold, I was forced to get a HUGE amount of it. After being incredibly disappointed by LatteLand, we decided to head over to Westport to TeaDrops Café and the coffee(tea) world suddenly made a 360!

You look and see two-stars and think I’m nuts. No folks, I’ve experienced better, much better at OTHER Latteland’s. The staff here is young, but knowledgeable and makes a good latte or tea for your taste. But, let’s talk about running a dust mop around the floor once or twice a month — filthy. Everything in here needs a strong cleaning — this reminds me nothing of the location near Ward Parkway in Prairie Village or even the Zonarosa location(which has a cold feel but is clean and tight). I pity the fool who chooses this location over any other Latteland in the city! ps — free wifi and drive-thru

This is a larger Latteland located in the OPK. I like this one particularly for the seating selection, in and outside, I can always find a place to sit, read my book, or use my laptop while drinking tea and maybe eating a tasty treat. Their loose leaf tea selection is great and the staff is knowledgeable about what they are serving.
