I love this place. Huge building with tons and tons of discounted merch. It’s really a hit and miss with what you can find, and some areas aren’t super organized, but I can deal with it.

Excellent prices, the crowd is a little sketchy sometimes but you can find some amazing deals of you take the time to look through the entire store. They have promotions for 25% off almost every holiday and the prices are already lower than most retail locations.
The bonus of great holiday promotions is almost cancelled out by the LONG checkout lines, only go if you have an hour to shop because there is no quick in and out at this location!

This is a good store if you have the time to bargain hunt and really inspect the clothes.
They buy imperfects and get the returns from several different stores from all of the US not just Penney’s.
You need to look at everything sometimes it is simple stuff like the pockets are sewn shut or a button is missing, easy to fix things. Sometimes one leg is longer than the other. I would skip that pair.
Great deals. Levi’s for $ 7, Craftsman and Carhart Work Pants for $ 12.
They have a shoe section, furniture, clothes for men, women and kids. They have pj’s and house wares.
Great place to poke around if you have the time and don’t find digging through tons of racks. It is worth the saving if you put in the time.

The store is staying in business, with the same or similar merchandise, but will switch to a new name, JC’s 5 Star Outlet in the near future. It is still a favorite place to go bargain hunting for me and my family.

The third stop on my quest for a couple new clothing items took me here. For a Friday afternoon, it seemed pretty busy. I hadn’t been here in a few years, and I’m impressed by some of the changes. A few years ago I bought a GREAT $ 200 leather coat for around $ 30-​$ 40, and it’s still in good shape; it is a Worthington. As it’s too big now, I am hoping for another find like this one again soon!
The ladies lingerie department seemed great! Misses/​Ladies and Plus sizes were plentiful. The fitting rooms are next to the lingerie, on the southwest side of the store (turn right after walking in).
The prices were quite reasonable. I was very pleasantly surprised by the women’s/plus size selection. This department was bigger at the Outlet than it is in most regular JCP stores. The Misses and Juniors sizes were plentiful as well.
I about fell over when an employee asked me almost immediately as I started browsing the store if I needed any help. And I had no wait at the cashier, and he was friendly, although he did spend more time visiting with his co-​workers than paying attention to the customer (me!).
Please make sure to try everything on, unless you are absolutely sure the sizing is correct. There were a couple things that were mismarked.
Getting to the store is easy; NB 69 is open, and you can exit on 75^th street and head a block south. Getting off on 87^th will take you much longer.
The fact that by the time I got to this store, it was my 3^rd ‘bargain’ shop, and the place was packed, so I was a bit irritable, and it still received 4 stars is quite a compliment!

The store itself is ok but getting there from Overland Park via Hwy. 69 can be tricky – there is construction about a block from the location on the service road. Detour takes you around and around through office parks, residential neighborhoods and finally to the store. When you arrive, the parking lot is not that even (pot holes). But, other than the inconveniences mentioned, you do have a great selection of merchandise. P/​S: This is the Catalog Outlet store not an anchor store you would find at a large Mall.

JCPenney’s department stores already have affordable prices, but their catalog outlets let customers get great bargains on many of their products that have been overstocked, unable to sell, or they are just trying to get rid of.
The outlet boasts that you can save 30%-70% ‘every day’, which is pretty realistic. This location is never that busy, so you can usually shop without much interruption or annoyances from other customers and excessive sales staff.
The outlet has a lot to offer, from clothing, shoes, to some home décor products. Overall, if you like bargains and live near this location, I’d recommend that you give it a try.
