Picked up some pizza on the way home from the office. Easy, quick online ordering. I arrived 10 minutes before the time I requested to pick up the pizza and the bartender gave me an iced tea while I waited. The pizza was ready right on time. This is high quality NY style pizza. Very thin crust. Sweet sauce. Fresh toppings. Big slices that are to be folded and eaten, not eaten with utensils. Excellent pizza. Great service. This is a GREAT addition to Prairie Fire!

Got 2 large pizzas and split between 5 people and we had a few left over pieces! With Fabulous pizza/service and half off wine on Tuesdays how can you go wrong eating here?!

Incredible! It’s all in the ingredients and preparation. Grimaldi’s clearly use the freshest ingredients and take pride in their craftsmanship — and it comes through in their creations! We split a house salad an the small(16″) sausage and mushroom pizza — devoured it! Coupled with great wine selection(we had the Layer Cake Malbec), extremely friendly staff, and easy atmosphere, we had a great night. I’d highly recommend Grimaldi’s and we will definitely back!

Would you like to know what the saddest sound on the planet is? It is the sound of your leftover Pizza hitting the floor in the restaurant! First the good: The bruscheta appetizer combination was tasty. Marinated Tomatoes, Marinated Mushrooms, and an Olive Combination were well enjoyed. The Pizza, a large 5 topping custom one was very good. Chased with a Boulevard Tank 7 for me and a Riesling for my wife was a great combination. We also had a family sized salad that while huge, was pretty fair. Our friends ordered a large Pepperoni and Onion Pizza that the loved as well. Now, for the bad. We had 3 large slices left over as did our friends. The waitress attempted to remove both Pizzas and the half full salad bowl in one trip. HUGEFAIL. Both Pizzas hit the ground and when a Pizza falls from 3 feet. it will ALWAYS land toppings down! To make matters worse, the manager, through the waitress said, «our ovens are backed up so we won’t make you a replacement, we will discount your check». The original bill was $ 126.00. He discounted the bill $ 15.00, which wasn’t even half of what our Pizza cost, let alone what our companions’ Pizza cost. I asked for a bit more off and to their credit they did comp our Pizza… but the Manager NEVER stopped by to check, apologize, or otherwise acknowledge us. So, in the future, Grimaldi Manager, my advice. let us box our own Pizza, or advise your servers to not attempt to carry more than one Pizza at a time. remember, Pizza is food of the gods and one of the 4 major food groups. Beer, Ice Cream. And Chocolate are the other 3!!!

Nothing special. The service was good. It’s just over priced even for Prairiefire. Not coming here again.

I am a big city girl who just moved to Kansas City! My hubby and I were CRAVING a good pizza for a while now and we are SOHAPPY to find our go to place! Excellent crust, excellent toppings and excellent sauce! Above all, the customer service was par excellence! This pizza and its experience is worth every last dime/nickel!

This place is amazing! I mean it! The pizza was incredible, the salads are sized to share, the prices are good, and the NYC atmosphere is awesome. Prairiefire needed a place like this and I’m so glad they have gotten one. I was wanting Overland Park to get a good NY-style pizzeria and this definitely lives up to my expectations. I got the white sangria(okay) and the garden pizza(amazing) and share a Caesar salad(very good). Next time, I’ll likely opt for beer, but I seriously loved this place. This is going to be my new go-to restaurant to hit up while at Prairiefire.

This was the best Pizza we have found in the Johnson County Area. Great atmosphere. Manager stopped by to ask how things were. I would give this a five star except that our waitress, who was very nice, was so busy with some large parties outside that we didn’t see her quite as much as we would have liked to. Great place. We will be back.

I was excited when I saw a pizzeria going into Prairiefire, thinking there would be a kid-friendly place to eat there. Unfortunately, this is not a place that I will be visiting again. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon with my five-year-old, and my five-month-old. The place wasn’t busy yet, which was my intention. We were promptly seated right by the kitchen for some reason. The restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing, but all I got to see was guys making pizza, and a ton of servers standing around looking like they would much rather be somewhere else. Our server came right over and I ordered an iced tea for myself, a water for my son, and a two-topping pizza. She came back with two waters. The iced tea never made it, and the server never returned. The pizza came in a reasonable amount of time, however the«crust» is incredibly thin, and very much like a wet noodle. I don’t know if it was undercooked, or if this is the way it normally is. The pizza is cut into huge pieces, which is unfortunate, as it is so floppy that you have to cut it up to eat it, especially for smaller children. The floppy rubber-like crust is not easy to cut at all. It tasted ok, however the sauce is very sweet, and not very zesty. A large two topping pizza was $ 22. The service here is non-existent. When I needed a booster seat, I had to get up and walk around looking for one. When I was ready to pay and leave, I had to flag down another waitress and have her go find our original server. All in all, it was a terrible experience, and I won’t return.

Not only is this THEBESTPIZZA in town — hands down. The service is exactly that, service. I had an embarrassing situation where I ordered a pizza to go and ordered a beer while I waited. Came time to pay… no wallet! They allowed my wife to text a pic and comped the beer. This is humanity at its best. Loyal customers for life. Thanks, Zach!

It was a beautiful day so we decided to eat outside. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any shade to be had. No umbrellas and although there were brackets on the wall, no tenting attached. I hope they change this. We split a pizza and salad. The small salad is huge and the 12″ pizza was plenty. Pizza tasted amazing, but salad could have used more dressing. Service was great even though we were the only table outside. We will go back.

Another phenomenal experience at Grimaldi’s! I ordered a Margherita extra well done and it was quite possibly the best I have ever had. The staff was extremely nice and attentive. This is a really new location with lots of shopping nearby(opened DEC15), so give it a try and I promise you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Service– 5 Stars Price/Value– 3 Stars Menu Options– 3 Stars Atmosphere– 4 Stars Pizza– 3 Stars Would I go back again? Yes. What what I have? If I go back again, I would go for dinner, and I would definitely try different toppings. Grimaldi’s was easy to find. It’s located in the Prairie Fire shopping Center, right across from the parking garage, on the same side of the street as Paradise diner and Newport Grill. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, old world Italian with funky, modern chandeliers made from used wine bottles. To me, the space just screams fun Italian. They even have the pizza oven out in the open, where you can see them open the door to expose the coal fire. The service was great, the staff was very attentive and helpful. Not just our server(Dave), even the person that brought our pizza to the table, offered ideas of condiments we might like, such as balsamic vinegar, oregano, garlic powder etc. Now, it could have been that it was Slow lunch time(1:30), and they had a lot of free time on their hands, but I felt like they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with the entire experience. The downside, I would say, was the fact that there wasn’t a wide variety on the menu, it was basically… pizza, salad, and calzone. If that’s what you’re in the mood for then you are in luck! And, if your favorite style of pizza is the New York style… Then you’re golden! I’ll be straight with you, this is New York style pizza. You know the kind of pizza you remember from The movie«Saturday night fever»… Where John Travolta is walking down the street to a disco beat, folding a piece of pizza in half and stuffing I t into his mouth. Not a fan. A fan of the movie. Of course, Hey. that was my era, disco! It’s the style that’s not my favorite. I’m more of a Chicago style deep dish or regular crust. I want a crust that I want to eat, not toss to the side of the plate. And I want a crust that will stand up to the type and amount of toppings I want on my pizza. This crust just won’t hold up to a lot of toppings. This would be a great place to have dinner before movie. And, with the abundance of parking and great shopping in the area… make day of it!

Great atmosphere, good service. Unfortunately terrible prices and pizza, and no kids menu(encouraged to buy a $ 9 personal for jr). Inflexible, beware. Was really looking forward to having a nicer pizza option, unfortunately this ain’t it. Pepsi joint. Search out Oregano’s in Phoenix for what this should be.

Love the pizza! We’ve eaten at the original in New York and it’s just as good! I highly recommend eating here.

I’ve had a lot of pizza in my day, and simply put this is the best pizza I have ever enjoyed! The coal-fired oven gets the temperature up to 1,000 — 1,200 degrees, which makes all the difference in the world. The crust in any other pizza is just a carrier, but this is actually truly part of the dish. Generous toppings with wonderful flavor make this one a repeater for me. I also ordered a Caesar salad to go with it. A personal pizza and a small salad. The«personal» pizza was at least the size of a medium everyplace else, and the«small» salad was about the size of a bowling ball. They have a price, true – so don’t expect to show up for a super bargain. But then again, it’s the best pizza on the planet. Ladies and gentlemen… Kansas City now has a real pizza place.

Grimaldi’s has wonderful pizza. They are known for their authentic New York style pizza with a thin crust and slices of fresh mozzarella cheese floating on top like clouds. They also have a wonderful, garlic infused white pizza that can change your opinion about pizza without tomato sauce. Takeout from the Prairefire location has some challenges but you are about to get the inside info to help overcome these few hurdles. Toppings: Just get cheese. Don’t try to make it a meat lovers-combo-supreme. That’s not what Grimaldi’s is known for. Dine In: Don’t. Especially if it’s Friday or Saturday night. Better yet, just don’t dine in. The area can be crowded and really, this is pizza best enjoyed as take-out. Parking: When you arrive you’ll notice just a few on street parking places and they will all be full. You’ll need to park in the parking garage. This is frustrating. You just want to get your pizza and get home quickly. Secret Hack: The valet attendants will let you leave your car in the valet drive while you pick up your order. This will make you happy. Pick-Up: Despite the fact that they do a brisk carry-out business, it can be hard to get the bartender’s attention so he’ll hand you your pizza. This is frustrating. You just want to get your pizza and get home quickly. Secret Hack: 1. Come early so when your pizza comes out of the kitchen and they yell«Smith», you’ll say«Here!» and claim your order before it goes into the warmer. 2. Or: Shout your last name to the bartender when you arrive. If he doesn’t look over at you, shout louder. Remember, this is a New York pizza joint – they won’t mind that you’re shouting, probably. 3. Bring cash so you can pay and go. Round up and settle up so you don’t have to wait for them to come pick up your credit card, then run your credit card and return it, then bring you the pen they forget to give you… Take-out, cheese, valet drive, cash. This will make you happy.

I had serious doubts about being as good as the pizza in NYC, but I’m happy to report it is spot on! We just got back from NYC yesterday & decided let’s try it whole New York pizza was fresh on our heads. So glad we did, now we know we can get great pizza here in KC! They chemically change KC water to mimic NYC water & everyone knows that’s what makes a NYC pizza the amazing pizza it is. And a tip… no forks, you fold your pizza. It’s just the correct way to eat New York style pizza.

12/16/2015 @5:30pm — Fresh, fresh, fresh. That kind of of sums it up for this place. Along with the great service definitely a place to go for pizza. Being from Chicago and having consumed many, many different types of pizza the wife and I are hard to please. Grimaldi’s is now near the top of our«come back» list for pizza. To start we each ordered a salad, a small salad. Unless you are really hungry you can order the large salad but in my view the small salad is large. The wife order the Mediterranean which had plenty of feta cheese, Kalamata olives, and a delicious vinaigrette dressing. I ordered the Caesars. The croutons where light crunchy and delicious and along with the traditional dressing it made for a great start. Both salads were prepared chopped so we did not have to spend time trying to cut large pieces of lettuce into edible sizes. For our pizza toppings were ordered fresh mozzarella and Italian sausage. I guess it would be a good time to repeat… fresh fresh fresh. The crust was super thin and crispy. In all an absolutely delicious pizza! All of the desserts are made in house so we could not resist ordering a cannoli. A crispy shell with delicious filling. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food made for a great meal! We will be back!
