Decided to eat here because I was near by and needed a quick bite. Needless to say I won’t be back. I got 2 chicken tacos that were tiny and tasteless. I opted out of sour cream because they wanted a dollar for a dollop. $ 5 and it was barely edible. I would have gotten a better meal at the Taco Bell next door.

I like it better than Chipotle. The ingredients are seasoned differently. I always try to go there as often as I can. I always try to get the friends that have never been there to go and check it out for themselves.

What a disappointment. Ordered online in advance for a large group and got the confirmation that our order would be ready in 12 minutes. 30 minutes later we found out that they had forgotten our order. They nearly left off one of the children’s meals until we pointed it out. They also gave burritos instead of quesadillas for our kids meals and when we tried to protest without a printout of the order in hand at pick up ended up walking out with burritos. And their offer of an apology for a late order for 9? Free drink for 1. We’re writing this place off.

If you ever wondered what Chipotle would be like if a group of potheads owned it, try this place. They have a burrito on their menu that is as large is a regulation football. Pretty disgusting, especially when you watch someone eat the whole thing. Weird place, but there Chipotle burrito shell is very good. Mostly this place is a munchies haven. There’s something about watching someone smoosh your burrito in a pattern that leaves nothing to the imagination, that makes you want to not eat anymore. But hey, there’s an Easy Rider motorcycle hanging off the ceiling, so there’s that. I don’t know. Try it before you die. Not bad, but not amazing.

This place was nasty and we wont go back. The food line looked like a picked over buffet, the lettuce was brown, and when we asked one of the emplyees for forks he grabbed them from behind the counter by the tines, with his bare hand. The burrito bowl was barely lukewarm. Just disgusting.

I visited this restaurant again last Friday. They have been going downhill for quite awhile. They had a long line again with a bunch of teenagers that have no clue what they are doing. One girl had on an obscene shirt that stated, «Bad Bush/Good Bush». The bad Bush was in reference to George W. and the good bush was a hand pointed down her pants. How low class and trashy can you be. Also this is the heart of Republican country. No one should may political statements in business anyway. The food was cold and they always rush you through the lines, but then you have to wait and the cashier’s because they have no idea what to do with Freebird cards and credits for lunch. Will not be going back. All a bunch of dumb Libs

I didn’t think it was possible but it’s better than Chipotle! I love that you can add lime juice and cilantro those things alone make it worth it. I’m visiting from out of town I wish they had these back home!

So my first visit had not gone so well, so I decided to give Freebirds another chance. The staff was very polite and the restraunt clean with unique wall art. In trying to pick a healthier option I went with the Light Chicken Bowl. It included spring mix, grilled chicken, black beans, guacamole and salsa. Overall very bland and soupy. My one small salad and drink $ 10.42, not worth the money! My high hopes… crushed!

I wasn’t terribly impressed with this place. It was okay. Felt like it fed on the«hippy» vibe and the foil art was kind cool. We chose this place because it was a great option for a lower calorie meal — while trying to dine out. I obviously had a salad. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t spectacular and given the opportunity, would visit again. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to make a visit.

Went here back in my college days still a great spot for a quick bite without the fast food feel. You get more bang for your buck and the food quality is great.

I enjoy Chipotle, but I prefer Freebirds due to the extra choices of tortillas and toppings, the reasonable burrito prices with the«make it a meal» deal(drink with chips and your choice of guac, queso, or salsa), the friendly employees, and the retro-themed atmosphere. They also offer an e-club.

To start off I would like to say this place is terrible! I hate saying how bad a place is, but it’s gotten to the point that I have no clue how they stay in business. I have tried it now three different time now. My Coworkers and I order to go because we all have set schedules that we have to return to work. Every time we select the option 12:45(I understand this is a busy time for most restaurants) but never is it ready on time, usually they don’t even start making it tell we show up. This last time we even called at 12:35 to make sure it was ready by 12:45 and when my coworker went in they had half of it ready and we did not leave tell 12:50. We understand places can get busy, but when we all actually looked at our food. Uh… They had written with sharpie across the aluminum foil and had pierced the foil which lead to sharpie being on the actual burrito. The quesadilla was not only cold but stuck entirely to the«pizza» like box it was put in. My coworker specifies every time no cilantro and for some odd reason they include it every time. The other two orders we had where wrong with no included sides that we were charged extra for… I for one will not being coming back. I have given this place multiple time to fix their mistakes and it just seems to get worse.

So here’s the deal: I like great music, good service and awesome food. Freebirds on 119th offers just that! Chicken bowl with spicy chicken, cilantro rice, black beans and veggies topped with garlic jalapeño sauce is my personal favorite! Also can’t go wrong with the freebird burrito with cayenne tortilla and steak! The service is awesome. A friendly staff Just the place I love being a regular at.

My son and I have a standing dinner date on Thursday nights. My husband bowls/plays softball on Thursday’s and long ago I started — mommy no cook night — on Thursday. Recently, Chipotle has been our go-to place for dinner. A few weeks ago, we decided to try Freebirds for a change of pace. There are several sizes of burritos which is a bit overwhelming at first. It seems that the burritos are about a dollar more here than Chipotle for approximately the same size, but there are several additional ingredients from which to choose. My son is not super adventurous, so I think he ended up with the same sort of burrito he normally gets. Freebirds has white rice or spanish type rice but no brown rice. I ordered the tacos. I like their hot salsa better than Chipotle’s but their chips weren’t as good. The food was good and the service was decent. Bottom line, if you like a variety of ingredients, this is probalby more your style over Chipotle.

Freebirds is such an interesting place. I feel like Chipotle has the burrito thing down to a science and that no one else needs to mess with something so good. The service we received from the girl making our burrito was excellent. She was pleasant and happy to make our lunch. All the other employees though were a bit odd. I think they were all stoned and then on top of that they were trying to sell pot brownies. It was strange. The burrito was very filling; they offer you massive sizes of burritos that are sure to leave you stuffed. Afterwards, I felt pretty sick from my meal. Something in that burrito didnt agree with me. I suppose it’s a fun place to try if you love cramming tons of ingredients into your burrito.

I think I will stick with Lynyrd Skynyrd and my Bic when I’m feeling a Freebird, and I will stick with Chipotle when I’m feeling a FATBURRITO. I really enjoyed the place. I thought that it looked clean and tidy for a post lunch rush visit(about 1:30 on a Friday). There was Sports Center on the big screen, classic rock and/or roll on the over head speakers, and the décor was motorcycle tacky weirdness. Service has been summed up in other reviews as sub-par. I think that about covers it. I ordered a burrito Freebird size and a fountain drink for just under ten dollars. The barbacoa was nice, but the cilantro rice was not good. The hot sauce was ok and over all the burrito was above average for a chain store product. The real up shot for me was that I felt like they weren’t trying to pigeonhole my order like they try to do at Chipotle. I felt encouraged to have my burrito with what ever ingredients they had to offer. I do recommend a visit to FWB. Maybe more your cup of tea than mine.

The main issue I had with this place was the parking, and the table space. Cram. Packed. Also, the noise level is pretty loud there. I thankfully only have tried this as call-in-to-go, but I was still shocked by these things. Regardless, I had a good experience. The food was timed and made just about the time I was coming in, registers moved fast. The options here are what blew me away. I love Chipotle, don’t get me wrong, but this is definitely a healthier alternative. Things tasted so fresh, compared to some of the times I have been to Chipotle. Pleased with my order and the service. Whether it will be Freebirds or Chipotle next time though, is still a tough one! Both delicious.

I trust my friend Kay L. a lot so I read through her whole review before writing mine just to make sure I had considered everything — because I had planned to write them a good review. I still am going to — the difference is that I’m going to validate all her complaints as legitimate and something that I hope the management addresses. Now, on to my experience, which was awesome. For those of us who love Chipotle, or its queso-adding cousin, Qdoba, Freebirds is an overload. We have tons of choices for what to add to our burrito, including BACON. They have a smaller size of burrito available than Chipotle’s default one-size-eats-all. They even have different tortillas and sauces and veg. I could go on. Main quibble here: I hope you don’t plan to eat here — there’s close to no room in the dining area and between 11:30 — 12:30 you should probably plan on the«to-go» plan. Unfortunately, this part of Mission doesn’t offer too many places to retreat to with your food — other than your car.

I want to like Freebirds, but I have to say that Chipotle kicks them to the curb. The décor is very in-your-face cool, what with the motorcycle bursting through the wall & the phony pin-up art & all that; it’s just trying too hard. It was noisy & crowded when I stopped in for lunch, with a very long and slow-moving line. Lots of employees behind the counter, but they weren’t too organized. I liked the options that were available — different sizes, different tortillas. I didn’t like the way the staff continually questioned my choices. «Plain tortilla, not spinach or cayenne? Are you sure?» Dude, if I wanted spinach, I would have said so. Somehow, between the tortilla station & the meat station(which is the FIRSTHANDOFF for pete’s sake) they lost my burrito; so guess what, I was holding up the line while they heated up another tortilla. Nice selection of salsas, but then the guy at the end of the line manhandled my poor little burrito, smashing & squishing it very aggressively, and twisting & poking the ends of the foil wrap so it looked like a big silver blunt. It was quite nauseating to watch. Then they tried really hard to upsell me a «pot brownie» and a margarita. I found the latter to be quite offensive — if I clearly say that I’m not drinking alcohol, don’t continue to joke with me that you’re going to pour one anyway, you won’t tell my boss, snicker. Hey, Mr. Margarita Guy, how do you know I’m not in recovery, or my religious beliefs prohibit alcohol, or what other reason I might have to decline a drink? You can’t know, so STFU, douche. It just rubbed me the wrong way 100%, totally insensitive. Anyway, after all that, the burrito was pretty good(although it looked like hell from being smashed so hard.) About the same as Chipotle, truth be told. But with the service at Freebirds being so definitely sub-par… guess where my next lunch burrito will be from.
