First Watch

Used to be s great place. Now service is slow and some servers don’t seem to care about the customer. They cheapened some menu items ingredients (Eggs Benedict is one example). We used to be regulars but won’t be coming back.

Clean. Easy. Good breakfast food. Prompt service.

Our family eats here for breakfast about twice a month and they never fail to impress! Great service, fresh food with new creations and great coffee! My wife loves the trifecta and I usually get the killer cajun with avocado. .. delicious! Great lunches too!

One of my favorite places for breakfast! Very clean restaurant, comfortable seating, friendly fast service, and quality food. I love that they always get everything right, even when you have special requests such as extra well done potatoes. The orange juice is incredible!

Excellent food and service and reasonable prices except the cost of a la carte eggs. $ 1.59/scrambled egg seems a bit excessive… Our family loves this place and it is always busy on the weekends so many others do as well. My one tip would be to turn down the heater. Oh my, it was like 80+ degrees in there this past Sunday morning. I can’t imagine that’s comfortable for guests or the staff. Other than that we are big fans!

This is my favorite breakfast place. I usually get he bacado omelet. Almost always have to wait, but it is because everyone knows it’s good. Fresh, simple décor. the service is good as well.

Where else would you go for a good breakfast? Everything is always fantasizing, staff is always cheerful and patient during my business meetings etc.

Love this first watch. Its better than any other locations. The food is good. The price is reasonable. The customer service is great. It isn’t over crowded at all. I didn’t like the coffee though but pancakes were good. Their omlet keeps me full all day long! I had a great time chit chatting with my friend.

Loud and noisy but the food is great, ordered the cranberry oatmeal and coffee, loved it.

Have has good experiences here bit today was the worst. Extremely slow, orders were wrong, some food brought out much later than others, tiny portions. This is the first time I’ve eaten a whole meal at a restaurant and still left hungry.

I’ve been to every First Watch location in Johnson County and each location tastes the same — absolutely fantastic. You have to order orange juice. I don’t know if it is freshly-​squeezed or not, but they add a splash of goodness to them.
Also, their Sensational Skillet is the best!

First watch has the best breakfast around! For the Healthy ones, Healthy Turkey is amazing and quite filling. For everyone, the pancakes are always a hit. Everything is good and worth the wait to be seated. Great service another reason we love it!!!

I feel like first watch has always been a staple for good breakfast/​lunch in Kansas City. I have been to a few of their other locations, but tried this one while back in KC visiting my parents. Although this location is a bit smaller than some of the others, it is still just as good.
I went there twice during my visit, both for lunch. The first time I ordered the Power Wrap, and the second time got their Baja Turkey Burger. Both were very, very tasty. I really like to come to this place for lunch, because they actually have a very good variety of healthy foods and sides. Both times we ate here, was around 11:30 am during the work week, so they weren’t particularly busy, but I imagine this place gets packed on the weekends.
The service while we were there was FANTASTIC. The staff are SO courteous and friendly. One time, the woman did accidentally drop the tray while serving drinks and dropped water on the floor. It didn’t land on any of us or the table, but she was good at turning it into a joke and making sure we were okay/​taken care of.
The building itself is very open, airy, and full of natural sunlight. Great location! I imagine this place will continue to do well!

Traveling through KC and visited this new location. It has a cheerful and bright décor, space to move around in the restaurant — not crammed like some diners — and the food was good and fresh. We ate there during the week and were sitted on arrival. I thought it was reasonable for the quality of food.

I love me some First Watch. I was thrilled to see one was being put in so far south — but it’s TINY. We tried to go to this location twice, but decided to go to the 119^th/​BVPkwy location because the wait was so long. Forget trying this place on a weekend.
We did brunch here on a Monday that the hubs had off. There was no wait for us at 11:30, though there were still several people in the restaurant. The quality and menu were the same as the other locations, of course, but I thought the portions might have been slightly bigger (i.e. potatoes). One drawback is the waiting area isn’t very large and creates a traffic jam with people waiting to pay.

Food was good, typical for any of the First Watch locations here in town. But I do have one beef with First Watch from this visit. The definition of a Hash. When I think of Hashes I think of more finley chopped potatoes and meat all mashed up together. Their definition was just some potatoes with meat on top. I mean it was still delicious, but just wasn’t what I was expecting.
