Cookies by Design

The cookies and arrangement were a pleasant surprise to the recipient. It was given on a day of sad remembrance and he lied to brighten the day. We tried the cookies in the store and they are wonderful.

I had special requests for delivery (times/​location) and they were willing to accommodate without blinking an eye. Recipients were overly pleased with the cookies they received.

The cookies are ALWAYS perfect and gorgeous. The arrangements always look just like the photos. I prefer Cookies by Design over sending flowers because with flowers the local florist tries to skimp by substituting lesser flowers or putting fewer flowers than what their website indicates. The floral arrangements are always a disappointment and flowers are SO expensive. I don’t think they expect the buyer to ever see the arrangement and assume they can get away not providing what the customer paid for. Cookies by Design’s arrangements have NEVER disappointed. Although they are as expensive as flowers, I have never ended up with ‘buyers remorse’ after sending one of your arrangements! And I have personally loved your cookies since the mid-90’s — they are DELICIOUS!

During the ordering process there is a box that you can check that states: «Have cookies delivered as early as possible.» This was marked, yet cookies arrived at 4:45pm. The recipient was already gone for the day (leaves at 4:30pm) so they did not receive delivery on their 50^th birthday. I’m not sure who would want something delivered this late in the day (they knew it was being delivered to a place of work), but it was incredibly inconvenient and will never be purchasing cookies again from this company. Only did 2 stars because the cookies at least made it there.

A few years back I passed by and all I saw was cookies. I turned around and went in. Found out that it’s mainly a store that designs gift baskets of cookie. That’s all good, but I wanted to sample some product before I give away gifts. Who wants to give crappy food gifts?
They didn’t have much a choice is samples. All I remember is the few I did sample didn’t not entice me to go back or order a basket.

I can’t believe this has been in business in Kansas City for 25 years… and I’ve never heard of it??? Then again, I can because the product is a little random (they specialize in gift baskets of cookies). The packaging isn’t your average gift basket either. The cookies are hand-​decorated, usually with a theme, and somehow presented in a bouquet cookie basket (they’re called «BouTrays»).
They market these gems as «double-​sided centerpieces» and the sentiment is nice and the shop smelled great (like a bakery making fresh goods — and it was in the middle of the day, past when normal baking is done) — but over my dead body would I pay $ 90 for a 12 cookie boutray. And for only $ 33 you can make a 4 bookie boutray (sarcasm)! The prices are ridiculous — but perhaps it’s their secret to staying in business for 25 years — I don’t know how they do it?!
The cookie-​options are endless though — Disney shapes and designs (Cinderella, Mickey and friends — it’s all very detailed and exact) perfect for your boss, for your aunt, your grandfather, your sick friend — it’s truly an unexpected gift. Although the sugar-​cookie designs made for the boutrays aren’t a cookie favorite — they also have classics like choc-​chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, white choc pecan macadamia nut, and something called a millionaire.
The artistry behind these cookies is amazing — it’s professional, not your humdrum cookie shop made by grandma. I suggest going to their website — the options are endless — cookies for every occasion — and some cookie cakes for all those occasions youjust can’t escape without presenting some form of a cake!
