The greatest place ever for pastries, pies, cakes, hot chocolate and ice cream. Home baked pastries daily by the best chef I’ve seen for that ever. Great service; if your in often they will know your name and what you like. Super friendly, they will make you feel like family. You won’t want to miss this experience whenever your in Heber or Overgaard.

Like finding a needle in a haystack, on the road between Holbrook and Payson. Chris, the proprietress, was a gem. Excellent espresso drinks made to order and phenomenal, home-​made baked goods that will make you put your diet on hold for the day. Worth the effort to get there.

This place is worth stopping by if your on the road. They are VERY nice there and their bakery stuff is amazing.

The cinamon rolls are out of this world !!! The owners are so sweet, you will be glad you stopped by for delicious treats… Don’t miss this place YUM

My family and I stopped in this cute little shop to get a treat and we really enjoyed it! The lady who waited on us was so pleasant and helpful, which is very hard to find nowadays. My boys had ice cream and my daughter and I had delicious hot chocolate! Next time I’m up that way I will stop there again. Cute little shop with great treats, definitely recommend!

Sugar Bears is an awesome place to come get good coffee and enjoy a small town atmosphere. The ladies that work here are very sweet and helpful.

The staff was street friendly and coffee was pretty darn good… a bit outta the way, on our way to Hon-​Dah reservation… I think it was the old timey feel that made us stop here… glad that we did!

A few very sweet ladies who crank out yummy lemon bars (oh yes), a giant (and I mean giant) chocolate and powdered sugar cookie, 16 Dreyer’s ice creams, and some coffee drinks (which I didn’t taste).
There is a preference for cash but I wasn’t given any attitude for using a credit card for my sub-​$ 5 purchase.
They also have a small-​ish gift shop with some kids tees and some bulk candies for purchase.
Kudos for the early hours on weekends — even Sundays!
…but closed Mondays/​Tuesdays.

Can you tell I really like Sugar Bears? Overgaard is really fortunate to have it. There are not a lot of alternatives in this small touristy area and Sugar Bears fills multiple needs. The ice cream is served with generous portions, making the pricing quite a deal. My first reaction was that it was a bit expensive but I could not have been more wrong. All the essential flavors for cups and cones. And we could not believe how much ice cream we received with our root beer floats! The bakery has fantastic cinnamon rolls and muffins. I cannot speak to the cakes and pies, but they looked great as well. And the coffee is a solid Starbucks alternative in an area that has no Starbucks handy. A limited menu of sandwiches… as well.
But I haven’t even mentioned what I like best about Sugar Bears: Its friendly owners/​employees and delightful décor. A giant stuffed bear, hand painted murals on the wall, knickknacks a plenty… make for a very pleasant place to stop and linger.

You have to come to Sugar Bear if you are in the area! This is the place where you feel welcomed right from the moment you enter. The deserts are amazing and the place is so cosy. And the lady (owner) that works there is so sweet and she will do everything to accommodate your requests. Great place!

Service was fast, my food was great! I had the cinnamon roll French toast it was amazing, super sweet. Other people in my group had biscuits and gravy they took about 3 bites and didn’t want anymore they didn’t really like it. One of them ordered a side of potatoes and they weren’t even cooked through. The menu only had like 5 options to order from as well. Over all the experience was ok.

Sugar Bears Café in Heber-​Overgarrd, AZ. Is the BEST, period!!! The service is polite, friendly and right on. The cutest place around, with great food. Breakfast is fabulous, lattes, espresso and ice cream all16 flavors are great. When in the area do stop in you will be pleasantly surprised.

I have no words that properly describe this delightful eatery! We wandered in and were greeted so quickly by the friendliest of staff. When we asked a question on if a small twist could be done, the quick answer was that «I’m sure. Big Mike can do anything».
We ordered coffees that the staff made while we watched and they asked us to taste because they «want to make sure it’s just the way you». On recommendation we ordered the Big Mike’s B&G breakfast Sandwhiches. Then based on samples we ended up with pastries too.
Holy deliciousness!!! There are no words that I can write that will explain how that breakfast Sandwhich was so good!!! No words! But I will tell you that I can’t wait until we vacation in Heber again so we can eat here.
There were also locals who came in and the staff was so amazing and at the end checked on us and they treated us like we were long time local friends.

I stumbled upon this store and was pleasantly surprised! The ambiance is quite cozy-​hand painted walls, cute knickknacks-​and we were greeted by the very friendly employees. A mother/​daughter pair owns the place in addition to a couple of the adjoining stores in the shopping complex.
The ice cream was creamy and delicious and the serving size was
generous. there’s an ample selection of coffee and pastries too. I’d highly recommend this place!

Nicely presented and excellent service! We really enjoyed the chai and frappucino. Mmmmmmm
