My husband and I went here for dinner one night. We had actually tried to go the night before, but they closed at 7pm. Who closes at 7pm? Anyway, my husband had the brat with sauerkraut and a pretzel and absolutely loved his. I ordered a chili dog(wasn’t in the mood for the ‘different’ food on the menu) and it wasn’t very good at all. The restaurant has a nice sitting area outside that is really enjoyable and has great views. Another family was there while we were and had a couple of young children. The waitress gave them a bucket of chalk and they had a blast drawing all over the cement outside! Overall, it was a good experience and we’d go back!

My three children and I had lunch at Billy Goat’s Gruff in late June while visiting Ouray(a brat w/sauerkraut, potato salad(me), mac-n-cheese(with corn and green chilies in it — GROSS), a huge hot dog w/apple sauce and a grilled cheese sandwich(the kids). I can’t believe they put green chilis and corn in the mac-n-cheese. It was disgusting and made my little girl cry. The food was pricey and mediocre in my opinion. I would not go back.

A great setting for a beer garden. Do NOT come here for food, it’s not great. I love chicken sausage and the plate was subpar.

This place is so cozy! The pretzels, sausage, drinks, and mashers are delicious! The only downside was they were understaffed and a little slow, but the food and coziness totally makes up for it. I was in telluride the day before and I totally prefer this place over any restaurant in Telluride.

Me and my boyfriend ate at Bill Goats Gruff(inside) and were not disappointed! Our waitress was friendly and the food was great. We got a pretzel for an appetizer and it was HUGE! I will admit that I’ve had better beer cheese but I still enjoyed it. For dinner, me and my boyfriend split the chicken apple sausages with roasted apples, sauerkraut and mash potatoes and the green chili mac. Both amazing! We could hear all the tables around us also raving about their food. It seemed that the sausage trio was also very popular. I got the sticky toffee pudding to go because I was soooo full and I’m glad I did! They also had some pretty good cocktail specials. I got a ginger and apple infused vodka with ginger ale and cranberry juice that was only $ 4 and my boyfriend got a beer called«Arrogant Bastard» that he enjoyed. The biergarten looked like a lot of fun but we were too full to carry on! We will surely revisit this place on our next stop in Ouray!

Decided on dinner here while in Ouray for our 2nd night. The atmosphere is very nice. We would have sat outside, but it was raining pretty hard. The food is yummy. We had the sausage sampler for our appetizer. I had the green chile mac n cheese… very good. I am a little biased though since I live in the green chile capital of the world, New Mexico. Their irish coffee was so good… I had two of them! The server, Jessica, was very, very attentive. I highly recommend!

My wife thought that this was the best food in Ouray, and she was going to wring my neck if I didn’t give a 5 star review. Yes, really!

I have only been to the biergarten not to the bistro, but I liked it very much! The beer selection is fantastic, the liquor prices are reasonable and the view of the surrounding mountains is beautiful! They also serve a limited menu outside. We mostly had beer, but did get the pretzels and they were delicious. Kudos for the admirable mustard selection(and this is coming from someone who currently has at least 4 different kinds in her fridge… none of which are yellow –blech!). Bonus — dogs are welcome!

We kind of stumbled upon this place because our first choice was closed, but I ended up liking it a lot. I got a cup of delicious chicken noodle soup – seriously the best I’ve had in a long time, such good, herbal seasoning – and vegetarian risotto, which was also outstanding. My family members got fairly large burgers, and they were happy with their choices too. Yum.

OMG the spätzle was amazing! This was the first place we hit up when we arrived in Ouray, and I have to say that I was quite surprised to find such tasty German food in little ol’ Ouray. There was a fairly large group of us, and we all ordered something different, but everyone was happy. Did I mention how good the spätzle was???

I wouldn’t recommend BG’s for a nice dinner out, which is a shame, because the food used to be phenomenal. Last winter, the gravlax they served could have come from any nice Brooklyn restaurant. Unfortunately, they chopped the menu in half and now they really only serve a few good sandwiches. The appetizers are good, but really not that special. ½ point for the homemade salsa. What is awesome about this place? Two fireplaces, pool table, fooz, shuffleboard, awesome beer on tap, and that unpretentious, mellow Ouray atmosphere. ps. maybe my butt is smaller than the previous poster’s, I fit just fine!

After a long day of outdoor recreating, we walked to this place from the Spangler House B&B for a casual dinner. Dinner was good(salad, ribs, calamari, apple tartlet) and they have a nice selection of beers on tap. Service was friendly and reasonable quick, and the atmosphere is comfortable.

After looking around town on the Saturday night before Easter we happened on this place at the very southern end of town. Nice menu, a little pricey but OK value. Old timey bar atmosphere is fine but the very narrow bench seating that serves half the restaurant is worse than sitting in the back of a cheap Chevy — hard, short and cuts you off mid thigh. Weird, like the guy building it thought he was going to run out of wood. Anyway, the food was good. My pork Osobuco was large tender and delicious. My son had the ribs — while not be authentic BBQ they are meaty, tender and flavorful. The beer was fresh, the music good. About the best you can expect for this town in the late winter.
