The Attic Experts – Superior Insulation & Ventilation

I had called Cory to have his company come and ck my attic fan which stopped working. He told me the day and they would be there at 9. They were 20 min early. Awesome. Came right in clean and professional. Went up to the attic. Said it was shot. Put a new stronger motor in. And then left. 15 min at the most. Awesome. Will have them install bathroom fan soon. Thanks to Cory and his crew.

We closed on a house with no bathroom venting, no soffit vents, and overall improper ventilation in the attic. People, there was mold in the attic. I knew the source of the mold was due to improper ventilation in the attic. After scouring Unilocal for companies, I randomly decided to google, «bathroom ventilation Chicago» and found the Attic Experts website. What prompted me to call the company was their reference Joseph Lstiburek on the company’s website. You see, my very knowledgeable home inspector, after seeing the lack of ventilation in my attic, kept referencing, Joseph Lstiburek, a nationally renowned expert in home ventilation. He said I should really read the science behind proper ventilation to educate myself on the core issue of my attic.
I called Attic Experts and talked to the owner, Cory, who was friendly and took the time to listen to the attic issues. In the midst of our conversation, Cory also talked about Lstiburek, which signaled to me that Cory’s knowledge was not only based on experience, but science as well. After getting a free estimate, I contracted Cory to install bathroom fans, soffit vents, and additional mushroom vents.
Cory and his crew arrived at my house and they were professional from start to finish. They wore booties as to not mess up our floors, and they cleaned up thoroughly, sweeping our floors and stairs of any debris left from their work. They didn’t leave until I was completely satisfied with their work as evidenced when I commented about the bathroom fan being slightly louder than I had expected. Cory immediately started to troubleshoot my concern, even having his crew go back up to the attic to recheck everything. They were able to make the fan quieter, and I appreciated their initiative in alleviating my concern. I think other companies would have given me the run around and said, «M’am, it’s really not that loud, and it’s probably because…» but Cory took the time to recheck everything, saying, «I want you to be happy with our work.»
People, call this company up if you ever had any concerns about ventilation in your attic. You think 1 – 2 mushroom vents on your 1900 square foot roof is enough? You think bathroom exhaust fans blowing into your attic is adequate? You think you have enough soffit vents for proper intake/​outtake of air? Cory knows his stuff, and he will educate you on proper ventilation. Cory gave me peace of mind about my attic, and being a homeowner, it’s something I can check off my list as a worry.
